I REALLY both love and respect the clear care you display for your animals. Moms y videos are centered around making the breeder look good (Underg.....), yea you get it, lol, and others are absolutely about shock value, killing a live blah-blah-blah. I respect your efforts Sir, thank you for loving these beautiful creatures!
I know it’s been awhile but one reason why it comes out so stringy is due to it not being fastened enough. Plus the grinder plate and blade need to be changed out. You’ll notice a much more coarse grind when you do that. Worked in meat processing for many years. I’d also get into the habit of just cutting the chicken fat off due to that clogging it up.
You all prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost my account password. I would love any tips you can give me.
@Imran Davis i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I understand the value of making the most complete diet mix possible, but I'd make two separate mixes: a chicken mix and a fish-based one. Then alternate them for the sake of enrichment.
dude because of u i bought all the same stuff u did , i even went the extra mile and ordered the crocodilian and the insectivore supplement and my maximus loves it
Great nutritious mix! Well balanced diets are key to healthy tegu. I keep forgetting to grab a meat grinder whenever I am at Harbor Freight. I started raising quail.
I think this is actually really interesting because I give my dogs a raw diet, and they get things like beef heart, chicken heart, turkey and duck neck, ground quail, eggs, pinkie mice and it's all things tegus can eat as well
This is awesome. I don't even have a tegu yet and I'm learning a lot. Recently found a store that sold chicken hearts and gizzards. Not sure if it was chicken, but they also sold kidneys. Would some sort of livestock (beef, pork, poultry) kidneys be healthy to feed tegus?
Yummy tegu food a great way of saving money and given the tegus a good diet awesome video man and good information as always man keep up the good work that you are doing man 👍👍👍👍👍
Random question but I normally have a very large garden. I do not use any chemicals or sprays. Do you think if I can or freeze veggies and fruit from my garden I could use that when I might have a hard time find not over priced fresh stuff in the winter? I have chickens and quail that I have for eggs and meat for my family. Which once I get my tegu they would have them regularly as well. I'm doing tons of research on what to feed them among a long list of other things..... also do you know of a good site to see what types of food I can and can't find them?
I really have to reach out and thank you for your expertise with everything Tegus...I made a batch of this food for my baby Chacoan and he devoured it immediately...I will only seek your advice from now on...Also bought an infrared thermometer...Thank you...
Deff awesome video I absolutely love tegus I don't have one yet however I will when I feel like I have enough knowledge on them I found that after rescuing a beardie that there is so much mixed info out there on reptiles in general what substrate what lights what temps what food and everyone is so passionate about there opinions which is the problem in general it's opinions I like to hear facts and I'm really looking forward to getting our baby or babies idk enough on them to know if they need companionship
Decent alternative to whole prey is bone-in, if your grinder can handle it. Wanna be careful that it doesn’t leave bone shards in the grind tho. (Talking chicken/fish bone. Don’t try to shove a t-bone into a meat grinder, lol)
Question for OP. Do you cook it since the chicken and fish is raw? Or do you not fear the potential risks of catching an illness or disease? Just a question before people Rip my head off. I own tegus and really want to know
I'm glad you asked, I wanted to know as well. I read on another site to boil the meat and all the different opinions stress me out 🥺 I'm so scared of doing harm to my lil baby!
Hey great vid! I actually plan on buying from you next year when I get a house but I was wondering can I feed this exact meat mix to baby tegus as a staple? I’ve seen a lot of videos and all of them say to just feed insects. Also after the clutch you have these next couple months when would you be hatching more baby tegus??
Thank you so much for the video, it was great! We just found your channel yesterday and subscribed. We recently got our first baby tegu and we are in love in love with him!! I have a question. I tried to keep him out of the substrate while eating, but he flung some turkey into the coco that so have him on temporarily (until we find appropriate top soil) and injected a chunk of it. How big of a deal is this? Thank you so much for all you are doing!
Thank you! My Columbian is so picky. She eats mice only if they are dipped in raw egg. Or raw talapia with raw egg. I want to try this grinding idea to get some greens into her diet.
Just rescued an adult female. She's about 32 inches from nose to tail tip. I feel like she needs to beef up a bit. How much of a meat mix would you advise feeding her per serving?
I’m curious, does anyone else not have any luck with mixes? My guys won’t touch it lol they are selective on what they eat. Pretty much the staples I use now are chicken eggs with the shell, chicken breast, hearts, and gizzards (I also include ground bone or small bone), frozen chicks, frozen mice, tilapia, super worms, grasshoppers, night crawlers, banana, black grapes, mango, blueberries, and mustard and collard greens if I’m lucky. If it’s mixed though, they won’t touch it lol
Grinding whole prey 😱 like house of horrors lol i have done a few mixes, turkey, cherry, squash seemed a firm hit :) turkey, heart ,liver, kiwi, greens, blueberry not so much :p i was wondering do u add suppliments? i am in uk so sadly indoor housed, T5 12% uvb. The babies r super cute! Great video as always :D
Do you have a rule for how much of there diet is meat and vegetables from what ive seen %90 meat and %10 veg until 1 year old then 60meat 30 vegs 10 fruit
How much repashy calcium plus do u add to the mix? I cannot find anything online or on the bottle. Under directions it just says to dust the bugs, it does not say anything about how much to add to meat, same thing with online.
The chicken breast being cheaper then ground chicken actually didn’t save you money… ground chicken is 50% muscle meat(breast) 20% organ meat (heart, gizzard) and 30% bone and bone marrow which between your chicken hearts and breast I’m willing to bet it cost more or about the same as ground up chicken by the pound
@@RoseCityReptilesTX Really considering getting a tegu in the coming months, your videos are really the only good informational ones on youtube. I've wanted one for years and really been off and on about it but your videos have sparked my interest again. The forms help but someone that knows what they're doing is 10x better!
I have a glass terrarium. I want to let my lizard Tegu go around my apartment. I have an idea to lean his terrarium so that an entrance will be on the side and Tegu could leave his home for a walk around my room. Question: Will my UVB, UVA Exo Terra Solar-Glo lamp give a full specter of light through glass?
Late question, but should you feed this to your tegu daily or only once in a while? Or can I go one day of feeding live insects and the other feeding the meat mix?
I tried offering my tegu salmon and shrimps but she wont eat it, she will eat fruits ok but wont eat meats. The temperatures are good any suggestions on better eating strategies?
You can use this mix for your dog also, if you have a dog and a tegu at the same time! Brilliant! 2 birds in 1 stone!
Very true!
It’s definitely a great base. I might add a little bit more plant matter to the mix after the fact for a dog.
thats actually a great idea ima have to try that out i have a 12 year old dog im sure itd benifit her
I REALLY both love and respect the clear care you display for your animals. Moms y videos are centered around making the breeder look good (Underg.....), yea you get it, lol, and others are absolutely about shock value, killing a live blah-blah-blah.

Half frozen is only way to go. I’ve done thousands of pounds of meat. It will grind up the slimy membrane and not clog your grinder
I'm getting a Tegu soon, and just wanted to say, I learned so much from your videos!! Thank you 😊
Great!!
Cut your chicken into cubes first, or at least across the grain. This is a general meat grinding tip :D But also eliminates "Stringy bits"
Good tip!
I used this as a guide to make food for my baby tegu and he loves it!
Outstanding video. A lot of your videos are. You take those extra steps for your viewers, customers and most of all your animals. Definitely helps
Appreciate it!
Same
Thank you I'm looking forward to making this

Loved this! I only have one tegu now so I use a food processor. I’m going to try some of this stuff in the mix! Always awesome watching your videos!
Thank you so much!!

Calf liver mmmmmyum my favorite. I usually sip it through my loopy straw.
Haha sounds delish!
Great nutritious mix! Well balanced diets are key to healthy tegu. I keep forgetting to grab a meat grinder whenever I am at Harbor Freight. I started raising quail.
Thank you Mat!
Ppl gives mices for tegus for th diet, is it ok to change mices to quails?
I LOVE THIS VIDEO! I am so happy you mentioned the silicon alternative for a zero waste tegu feeding frenzy. New suby btw!
I think this is actually really interesting because I give my dogs a raw diet, and they get things like beef heart, chicken heart, turkey and duck neck, ground quail, eggs, pinkie mice and it's all things tegus can eat as well
Funny!!!. This is The EXACT same way to make Arby’s roast beef
Going shopping tomorrow. Will be ready for my little guy. Can't wait!!
Great! I'm excited as well!
The kitchen aid mixer is super cheap and super easy to fix.
Man your tegus have a way healthier diet them me XD
That's an understatement for me. Lmao

Glad you are enjoying the videos!
You could coat the meat in egg yolk to lube it up and help it slide through the meat grinder.
I made a variation of this for my tegu for the first time and he loves it thank you so much XD
Awesome vid! Reptilinks is really good too!
Yes they are, thank you!
Ooooh thanks for the ice cube tip!
Ive tried what jo has done wow amazing take it from me it works thanks jo for all your advice
Matt from the uk
Great video man. Definitely need a grinder now.
Thank you!

You should use turkey. It is lean and good for tegus. It would probs grind really well

Thanks u great video
i made this mix but the greens i uses stained everything green lol

This is great, but I cant get a grinder nor do I even have a place to put one. What can I do if I dont have a grinder?
Thank you! My Columbian is so picky. She eats mice only if they are dipped in raw egg. Or raw talapia with raw egg. I want to try this grinding idea to get some greens into her diet.
Colombian are almost , if not, completely carnivorous. No need for greens :)
Can you feed the bones to Tegu's? Grind them up?
One thing I would add to the mix is insects
Random thought and question I thought I’d get you opinion on. What do you think about mixing in the powdered fruit gecko diets into the mash?
Just rescued an adult female. She's about 32 inches from nose to tail tip. I feel like she needs to beef up a bit. How much of a meat mix would you advise feeding her per serving?
One thing to note if you give dogs raw any fish or seafood has to be cooked! And some veggies do too
thanks for the sweet meat grinder asmr vid!
i forgot to say THANK YOU!!!

Yes, I use repashy calcium plus. I added it in the video.
Thank you!
Do you have a rule for how much of there diet is meat and vegetables from what ive seen %90 meat and %10 veg until 1 year old then 60meat 30 vegs 10 fruit
I cover that in this new video!

This channels geeat I subscribed and I'm watching all ur adss so dont think u cant make anything off of here
Do you have a portions list from baby to abult.
No because they all eat at different rates.
How much do you give to each Tegu, for each feeding?
How often do you feed a juvenile tegu vs an adult tegu?
Can you feed good fish to tegus
Yes
I end up here because I was considering to get a tegu now all I want is a grinder.
How much of the repashy calcium plus do you use in the mix? Thank you!!
Where can I get a meat grinder like that
How much repashy calcium plus do u add to the mix? I cannot find anything online or on the bottle. Under directions it just says to dust the bugs, it does not say anything about how much to add to meat, same thing with online.
What was the link for the supplement? It’s not in the description?

If you only had one tegu how would you store it like store half in the freezer or thaw out a little bit at a time
I keep in sandwich bags and thaw as needed.
I own one tegu and I do just make them into little meatball type things and put a bunch in one bag then lay if flat so they aren’t touching
@@RoseCityReptilesTX So do you not have to worry about the loss of nutritional value from freezing the food?
Can u show off ur hold backs form topaz and Elsa's babys :3 and the rest of the one u r holding back
Great video idea! Thank you
What would be a good ration of vegetable/greens to meat for a juvenile tegu.
Are there any foods that are harmful to tegus?
(asking as I can use this mix for my dog and a tegu) can you add bones such as chicken legs and feet? thank you
Yes you could
any tips on easing greens into the diet? my tegu's previous owner didn't feed any veggies so he's picky. Thanks!
How many times a week do you feed them ???
ua-cam.com/video/KNkHPGyl-OA/v-deo.html
I cover that in this video!
New subbie...and tegu mommy to be. I live in the Caribbean, you said salmon helps with chedding, but what else does (if i can't get the fish)
Vitamin B complex and fish oil .. in case ya haven’t gotten an answer still :)
they probably don't like the camera because they can see infrared waves so it probably makes them uncomfortable.
How long can this stay in the fridge/freezer before it goes bad?
How much and how often do you feed you baby, juvenile and adult tegu?
いいなー。今度そっち行きます!
Do they HAVE to eat insects?
No but variety is good
Can you over feed the calcium? I'm a little lost as to how much to add to the mix.
You can, but the brand I use is very safe. Its the D3 you have to watch.
Making me hungry.😂
I'll send some to you!
Did you put the whole egg in?
What should we NOT feed our tegus?
Great idea for a video, we will cover that. Thanks!
how long does this usually last you like when does it expire? Also, how much would you use for a singular tegu
I have kept it frozen for several months. The amount of food per serving depends on the individual tegu.

Can u feed it to baby tegus to?
Dont need to live feed?
can u use this for all ages
Yes you can.
im getting a tegu in a day ro two and i was wondering if you can feed them chicken liver?

No it won’t . It will loose a lot of its full light spectrum . You you have a fish tank or a terrarium? There is a difference .

👌👍
is this apart of their staple diet? How often do you feed this?
Wait u didn’t put the website for the calcium mix in the Description
is it ok that once i mixed it up it turned green from the collard and mustard greens
