He is really great. Came to prominence in the UK with appearances in Star For A Night and X Factor. Lost his sight as a child but that certainly didn’t stop him!!! What a talent. He’s playing the sax too on this one.
Being a huge Mike Oldfield fan l got into Robert Reed through his first Sanctuary album. I've got all his solo stuff now, I've almost got all the Magenta albums and now 3 of the Cyan albums. I didn't know about the original Pictures From The Other Side or The Creeping Vine so thanks for mentioning them. I was at a Mike Oldfield convention in Reading England last May and Robert was there. I had the pleasure of meeting him over the weekend and he even sat and had a couple of beers with us. A really great down to earth person. There's a few more things in the pipeline planned he said. One was this Cyan album. Apparently there's a new Sanctuary album in the works and The Ringmaster live at the Arlington Arts Centre, Newbury CD & DVD. This was filmed on that Mike Oldfield convention weekend which I attended so I'm greatly looking forward to that release in particular. Anyway great review. I listened to this album last night and loved it. Take care.

Great review, Scot! I believe remakes of the two 'missing' tracks from the original album will be coming out on a mini-album later in 2024. 'The Guardians' is apparently expanded to about 25 minutes! I liked both the original first two Cyan albums (despite the occasionally 'so terrible they're funny' lyrics), but the remakes take them both up a level. I wonder if they will remake 'The Creeping Vine' as well?

@@TheProgCorner What was always amazing about the vocals of RPI bands is that they are so powerful, dramatic, theatrical and fit the music brilliantly. Just take the vocals from La Maschera di Cera , La Coscienza Di Zeno or Il Bacio Della Medusa, the vocals fit perfectly.
Isn't that Mr. Brady? I just listened to a live 'Broken Man' rendition...it's so bland. . It was so boring and aimless, yet it still lasted eleven minutes. The last STYX record is creative genius in comparison. I am not patting Styx on the back.
