Clip studio is waaaaaaaaaaaay superior. The fact that you can convert vector to raster and raster to vector, is one of the many reasons why Clip comes on top
I will say though- isn’t there a subscription for ClipStudio? Not saying it’s bad- but for ppl that want different and or more affordable things- a subscription doesn’t rlly help XD
@@Suited_Nat That idea for PC has been scrapped for now. A statement was released after the universal backlash! iPad users pay monthly though
@@Suited_Nat subscription on ipad & android. One time payment for mac & windows
10000% dude I’ve been drawing with my finger and god it’s so much better the phone version of clip studio solos
@@Suited_Nat it was literally like $10 for a whole year sub (and it's already v2.0) last week, and these sales happen every 3 months or so, it's really not that bad and not even close to real sub bullies like Adobe
One point I think is missed is, if youre used to Photoshop, then Clip will be easy to use. Familiar interface, along with many shortcuts being the same. Photoshop was my main since PS 5.0 and I use all three. Only in the last couple of months, Clip has become my main for work.
just wanna mention that you can turn on an option to see your brush outline as you hover in procreate
Certain/newer devices :( but true
I have the generation right before that feature unfortunately. Apple always locking features behind a pay wall...
of course CSP is superior and professional level esp for comic art... its not even a contest, saying procreate "beats" because its simplier just means it doesn't have enough tools .. and missing a lot of things to make it truly professional
Csp has simple mode now, too
There's a big issue that I swear none of these comparisons ever talk about, and that's the cost of hardware. Most everyone will have a PC, but an iPad is a luxury device. $50 vs $10 may seem like a no brainer at first, but its $10 on a $500+ (or over TWICE that for a decent Air or Pro) device that only works with other Apple apps vs $50 on the device you already have and you can get solid drawing displays for $200-300.
I use Clip Studio Pro on Window. Looking to get an iPad pro for on the go art. Thanks for the overview. Procreate looks kind of like Sketchbook.
Be advised, you pay monthly on the iPad!
@@Omnitrix8 Thanks for the warning!
@@Omnitrix8isnt procreate one-time purchase
@@Milkisu_u it is
4:48 it has brush curser but you need to enable it in the prefs section
Both are beautiful and work great in their own way. It’s all about what you’re comfortable with ❤ and I love procreate. Have a lot of health issues and procreate works best for me. And helps me de stress as an artist
tbh I prefer CSP because I can set individuals pressure curves for different brush functions in addition to my general pressure curve. I dont like to press hard so my pressure curve is very sensitive but sometimes want to keep the texture of certain brushes so I adjust their curves individually to be less sensitive. I really don't like procreates brush engine as I can't figure out how it works and don't want to adjust the pressure curve everytime I use a certain brush. Also I don't like how flipping a canvas is registered as an action. usually I want to check if the brush stroke I did also looks good when flipped and when it doesn't I can't undo it before my canvas is flipped again... It's just not user friendly imo
Yeah same, I already bought clip studio, but recently bought iPad. I kinda don’t want to pay monthly but don’t want to learn new system. I don’t really know what I should do
It's rly beginner friendly, beginners don't invert the canvas to often😂
@@yzxz9012They absolutely should - if experienced artists still need to flip to see their work with fresh eyes, the benefit to a junior artist is even greater.
I bought Procreate years ago and tried full CSP for free three days ago. I don't know so much of the program, but I gotta admit it... Procreate would be my number 1 art program, only and ONLY IF IT HAD THE BLUR TOOL. The smudge/finger blur tool isn't for it, if you're good at it good for you. But I wish Procreate had the brush variety like CSP, and also. I would be the bomb CSP allowing their brushes for Procreate.
There IS a Gaussian Blur option in Procreate that is the same as a blur tool…
but there is pencil option for the gaussian blur tool?? like theres a full option and a pen option for specific parts
@@DirtBoyzProductions Wait, where?? It doesn't show up for me
@@haiderdiego680 - it should be in the ‘Adjustments’ tab, it looks like a magic wand between the wrench icon and the selection icon tabs..
@@haiderdiego680 I don't know if it's the same as CSP but you can find Procreate's blur tool in the Magic Wand button (next to the wrench), then Gaussian Blur. It's the 5th option down. It blurs the selection area (or whole layer if you didn't select anything).
I own both butni mainly use procreate for sketching and blocking as i mainly use it when im on a trip or in coffee shops. CSP is for rendering and fine tweaking of my sketches in procreate as it has many customization
The thing about Clip Studio is that you can literally customize almost every aspect of UI. You can easily make it look like a different software, turn windows on and off, edit the quick access areas and whatnot. It takes some time to get used to the program because of how much there is to explore, but you can easily make it look like something easier to manage (toggle things you use and don't use in "window" tab, and you can drag them around freely!) 🥰🥰
im debating on switching to ipad CSP because the skin tones in Pro create are very dull, and i cant get the results i want.
Clip Studio Paint is subscription on the iPad and its user interface is not optimized for a tablet. Those are its biggest cons in my opinion.
You can now use the simple mode in csp
Does anyone know of good resources for draw-alongs with Clip Studio? The resources for Procreate are massive, but I really want to learn Clip Studio.
I'm very much on the fence about getting clip studio (as a procreate user) because I only have my apple ipad and the reviews for it on the app store are so bad that I'm very hesitant to take the jump.
that's mainly wu
why i plan to go to windows for clip and not the app. and its also subscription on ipad so it was a no for me
If you're already creating art on Procreate then there's no need to get CSP. I believe CSP had meh ratings last I checked but it performs differently for old users compared to new. I use CSP on Ipad & although Procreate has far more responsive brush than CSP its all about using a familiar tool rather than a better one.
One thing that needs mentioning is that Clip Studio Paint is compatible with Photoshop ABR bushes and PSD documents. Been using it for years after a long while on Photoshop
The moral of the story is if you’re a beginner artist or want something simple get procreate, but if you are an advanced artist and want something complicated or more options gets Clip Studio paint
To think that I got to know Clip Studio Paint from an polemic anime...
Today I use the 2.0 EX version and I am very satisfied
4:59 I will say, there is an option to turn this on, but it took me a while to even know option existed XD
Edit: you can turn on brush cursor functions for both hovering and while drawing
In clip studio paint you can also customize the interface to be as much minimalistic as possible
CSP also has a time-lapse option
Animation export 1-60 fps on procreate 🙂
So, if I already have Clip studio and already learnt how to use it, but I'm also interested on how simple Procreate is, should I buy an iPad? Is it worth the price? or should I go for a Samsung Tab? D:
An iPad will be so expensive and then you need to also buy the pencil. Samsung will probably be cheaper !!
If you can already create art on your CSP, then you will be creating nothing better on Ipad. Unless you require mobility. I started with pirated CSP on PC then few years later got an Ipad & use CSP on it too. Although I bought Procreate & really want to use it I have no extra incentive to do so as I'm already used to CSP.
Very nice video, I like it. There is also animation capability in Procreate :)
Yes, you are right
there is also animation in clip studio but you need to pay for it
@@minimosa limited to 24 fps
I cant use my ver 1 license in csp on my ipad, i wonder why?
Is there a layers limit on Clip Studio Paint on the iPad?
no
Ok ok ok
Procreate is not a industry level app
In other case
Krita, Clipstudio, Adobe animation apps are industry level app and tons of features in PC Clipstudio is God level software
My opinion
Procreate is pro level app
And
Clipstudio is God level editing app and software
Didn't know Krita is consider as industry level
Get both and use both together
I tend to sketch in Procreate and ink in Clip studio as the pens in CSP are better (at least for me).
clip studio is the best no contest. i use the computer versions because i'm not paying a sub on mobile.
I wish I can use Clip Studio on my android Device but monthly payments is the problem for me...
is this even a comparison when clip studio is a literal port of a pc software that competes with photoshop...?
Yeah, I really don’t think it’s even a fair comparison
who are the artists in this video?
I want to get CSP but I don’t want to have to pay the annual fee lol 😅
theres a one time purchase option
@@rathyioon ipad?
@@betterlucknextlife0 pc only unfortunately
Its only 2,5 dollar per mount its cheep
Made a video on Callibeg
I would say procreate is great for logos, emotes , lil animations with procreate dreams, but csp will be better for big illustrations ?
I’ve done big illustrations on procreate and have been using it professionally for years now so again it’s a preference thing
@@tosina2946 oooh ok i’ll try then !
love your comprations
So glad!
clip studio
Now csp has a simple mode looks like a procreate interface
Great video
This video ended for me when Procreate wasn't android compatible
Clip Studio is actually free now on IOS
Procreate I just think csp is harder to learn
Comic artist love clip studio, because it has the tool to support it.
They are both art tool but slightly for different audience
So CS you pay monthly but procreate only one time ?
I heard thst pro create is also a monthly payment ?
1 time purchase
clip studio also offers a one time payment along with a monthly/yearly subscription.
You get use to the interface of CSP
I am a beginner completely. I have used a demo version of CSP on PC and I have been using a tablet to draw through my PC. But it is so hard to draw in another place and look at another place. I wish I had a tablet with a screen and pencil to draw. It sounds way easier for me. And it is so easy to find online courses for how to use Procreate but it is hard to find CSP. The options are limited. That is why I consider to buy a secondhand Ipad and pencil and buy Procreate to learn how to draw digitally. Is there anyone else here who can recommend me some online courses for Procreate? And is my opinion about CSP and Procreate true?
You can have tablet with screen and use CSP as well. And you would eventually get used to drawing in such way. 😄 It takes few hours but I am glad I stick with it. My hand isn't in the way as I draw now
so what im hearing is: download procreate while i get the hang of clip studio?
The issue is…Clip is a subscription model do you really want to go with that
@@justcherry8023 well crap. do you know how much clip studio is a month?
@@lolz5622 If you want the pro version to make comics and stuff is $219 one time purchase, the basic $49 one time purschase but that if you are in computer if not, its $10 A MONTH. With $10 you have Procreate for life hahahah
The minute you said, raster graphics editor procreate lost 😂
i also have Affinity Designer and photo so i don't want clip studio
Procreate fs I ain’t paying that much for that 💀
I say Procreate is where new digital artists begin to walk and Clip Studio Paint is where Digital Artist begin to Run.
Procreate forever 🙋🏻♂️
0:47 noob, clip studio could extract line from 3d object, its useful for car, weapon, engine, or any complex inorganic stuff, and you could change the lens setting, you could pull kim jung gi shit with that
This video is literally coughing baby VS hydrogen bomb
Lmao fr
as a broke krita user... yeah
Kooleen: as long as its juicy😘 (edit) OMG I GOT HEARTMOM IM FAMOUS
Oh my goodness, you've taken all the footage from other creators! I'm going to report you!
Procreate is a toy I use to educate kids.
CSP is for real work.
L
Clip is better period.
"Clipe Studio"
procreate is partnered with apple😂
Clip studio is better 😂😂
the prices are wrong for Clip Studio, it's cheaper
Technically you can do usage plans, but those are for handheld/smaller devices. So if you want to get it on a pc/mac, etc, you’d have to pay it one time. The thing is, for ppl who only use Clip on hand held have to do the multiple payment. That can be tasking for ppl esp if you don’t know what ur budget would be.
SO NOT cheaper if you gotta get an apple device xD
Any tablet in the premium quality range is EXPENSIVE apple or not. If you go for the cheapest Wacom that is $70-120 you need a COMPUTER that doe'snt crash hahahah so its basically the same. And yeah theres computers second hand but that applies to the iPad too, you don't need the new one or the PRO.
@@MY-cz2th I use an iPad Air and use ProCreate, nearly half the price of a Pro and works great for me
SIIIIIIIII ESSSSSSSS PEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
