Briliantly executed. That refraction effect is just *chef's kiss*
Ty sire , helpful fr 😇
@@emmanode haha no problem !
Thanks
Thanks
Thank you 🥲
What's up good sir, professional VFX Artist here.
I really love the way you're documenting your learning path, as well as a great many of the solutions you came up with for the different challenges presented.
Not only is the final result visually appealing, but it has that feeling of satisfaction that is often the most important of the many 'secret sauces' required to create compelling VFX.
The colours are strong and striking without being oversaturated, the shapes are clear and the textures aren't too noisy.
Overall, this is a great recreation of the ability and I'd call this a success.
Ship it 👌
just a question , is it possible to make impact frames in 3d animations ? because one right after the shot would have made it divine, (of course not that its not already )
@@user-td4zq4bf6k Since this particular shot has a static camera, you can physically draw a flash frame or similar and have it appear in front of everything. If this needed to happen from any angle, you could modify the colors of all elements or do a post-process shader
how much time does it take to complete editing course?
🤓
The effect looks really cool! Love the use of the "shockwave" distortion at the end, but I'm surprised you didn't use a similar technique for the world distortion at the charge up stage of the attack.
Exactly the same thing I was thinking. Kind of a black hole type of effect.
Black hole into black hole like cursed technique red and cursed technique blue merge @@Zakjuh
it looks amazing man, but if you really want the explosion to feel epic, you should add some impact frames, those really help to sell the effect that youre looking for
yess taz what im sayinn
I was looking at it and I kept on feeling like something was missing which impact frames was mising
frfr
What's missing is the black hole lensing effect and hue shift - I'd have started with a physically accurate Interstellar-esque black hole shader tbh. But in terms of overall visual fidelity this kinda shows up the limitations of tricks like scrolling textures across spheres etc. Versus the anime using real volumetrics and fluids and lightning simulations rendered in Houdini etc.
Did they really do all that on the anime?
@@Avardentyes very suttle I believe
This is awesome, I really love that you share your work process and talk about the different struggle-points that you encounter as you go along.
I think one thing that might push the impact of the animation overall would be to have the effects speed up as the sphere is accelerating away from the character. That way, it would look like the inside is gaining energy and becoming more volatile as it's flying outwards.
That was amazing! Wonderful work man, really enjoyed watching the whole process explained.
The amount of Impact you added was really good! I would love for you to discover IMPACT FRAMES :D
If you step through the original you can see a frame or 2 where the frame goes black and white
This create a ton of impact for the viewer!
Looks amazing, you can really see the improvement from your last effect to this one. Keep up the great work!!
This final rendering is masterful. The video is also very well put together, and the way you tell the story of the creative process is really captivating. Very, very good work!
If I may say so, even if the final rendering was incredibly accurate and very well executed, I think that a big crack in the ground as the sphere passed through would have made the final composition even spicier than it already is 🔥
WE WANT JIGGLE PHYSICS 😭
Edit : it was a freaking joke guys
we're better than this
There is a site for that
Plenty of courses on jiggle physics and how to make that kind of stuff on youtube
Go Wash your brain inside the toilet
Damn right i wanted to say yess but bro hold it, cant break at this moment
Just a suggestion, how about impact frames, not sure how you would be able to do that but it would leave a greater impression in the animation
it's always stimulating to see when the boundary between something that looks cheap and something actually immersive is crossed (event tho it's a continuum, so you can't really draw a clear line)
nice job
Hella good improvement from the last vid, good work bro
Now do the Mahoraga walk through sukuna's domain...
this!
You want him to suffer or smt
@@kareldumez526 already is
It’s Sukuna
@@sscrma2 ik its autocorrect
You put so much effort to make it so cool
i respect you my man :D
This is by far the best you've done, the little details in the lightning and the wind trails not to mention the refraction sphere is perfect. the only other way to enhance the "impact" would be an impact frame itself. which for 3D would be annoying to do and is why films like spiderverse or puss in boots does impact frames in 2D drawn over the 3d
First of all AMAZING JOB!
I love both your presentation and the effects you've made throughout the video, it's truly inspiring to see you work with all those particles and layers to create the umph you were looking for.
I'm currently diving into UE5's Niagara , and it really is mind boggling to see the end result!
and the "World space" tip's solid, I'll keep it at the back of my mind for future reference.
from an animator's perspective, I don't think that the character animation is holding it back (atleast not in this case)
You know how when you sit in a car or a bus, objects that are closer to you seem to woosh by and object's far away seem to almost not move?
I use that effect to kind of cheat more power into my animations!
In your case you can make the ball shoot out almost instantly and than "ease out" as it get's further away!
Though I guess it is a little sad to see such a cool effect go away in a blink of an eye.
thank you for the vid! #keeponkeepingon
A cool way to do impact frames is to do a quick burst of powerful light and shake the screen really hard for a moment!
it's insane dude just imagine doing it with the background city getting destroyed like you did on the kame hame ha mountain but getting also kinda absorbed by the hollow purple
Excellent work, way to hustle.
You should do a full breakdown of the entire process instesd of a general overview. Basically remake the effect, with a new video as a tutorial. I gurantee youll make it in a fraction of the time with better quality, while making great content
W art bro your amazing! Keep up the work! 🔥🔥🔥
This was great! I had this idea to replicate the "curse energy" using a translucent blue flame like texture and a deep dark ink outline in UE.
These vids are really inspiring even for a 2D animator like me, thank you!
Ah. I know what is missing from these.
Anime has impact frames. Usually just a bright white frame where the screen flashes once before the actual thing happens. There's usually the actual effect displayed in black for a moment too.
The impact frame is really important. And I think you could benefit a lot from adding them. Even if that's just throwing a shadowless white plane in front of the camera for a moment to imitate it.
Overall everything is good. That's my only critique.
Thank you for the substance in the video!
you can add impact frames to animation I think it would look better
thats a cool idea! doing them by hand is hard so you could try looking for one that someone already made or make everything white but the character and the energy ball (wich will be black like a shodow) and create lighting randomly all over their surface so it looks distorted, just for a few frames.
This is brilliant. Also both my favorite things, learning tips and tricks to improve my own work by watching people excel at it, and Jujutsu Kaisen haha
I really enjoyed the video and the effect looks great, I have one point of critic. The "outer purple smoke" rotating around the purple bloom sphere should be scrolling fast because right now it kind of looks like the smoke from Valorant. Effects animated fast then the human heartbeat come off as hostile and slower as more inviting. All together great video, keep up the good work👍
Good job keep up the good work!!!
This was so cool! If i were doing somthing like this, I might add the ripple effect thing to the smoke trails- but thats just me. Love the work you do, so very cool
also, you could add impact frames to make the punch feel stronger, and in the hollow purple animation, when the purple is growing it has a spherical distortion behinnd it that warps the light like in a black hole
Wow. That was very educative. Thanks.
The way it went forward extra effort for that really paid off ❤❤
Incredible video and effects Bro, good job
Yours effects style reminds me of another animator and 3D artist called Dillongoo, I don't know if you know him. If you not, it's worth taking a look
It looks super cool... I'm not a professional GFX expert or animation expert, but I was at the edge of my seat while watching this video expecting you to add some impact frames. It was the first thing that came to my mind when you said you were missing some kick at the part where Gerald launched hollow purple. It would have a lot more spice if it was added, if you're interested, look it up. overall though, I can see this being in an official Jujutsu Kaisen game.
Honestly the lvl of detail you have mastered now is unparalleled… This is Absolutely INSNAE !!! 😮
nice one bro
that VFX is crazy
I love this one more than all the animations in the previous video combined!!!
PERFECT
w vid bro keep it up we want more!!!😁😁
Nice work 🎉
Dude This looks great !!! adding Impact frames before it launches would have been a cherry on top tho xD
that looks AMAZING
I also did that moment in unreal! its so cool to see your process to making this
I had been working on sukunas malevolent shrine. Not a professional btw. I made the random slash effect after his shrine appears(before he uses the fuga techique or whatever) . But i counldnt really make the lighting proper. I also didnt know how to make the dissolve effect on mahoraga ( the part where it gets shredded to pieces and so does the city) so i gave up. It has been a week or so.
This video made me realize i shouldnt have given up. Also its also a great tutorial for the future. Its also my first time learing bout world position😂. Thanks for the video!
Very nice. Nailed it for sure. 👌
It's incredible how you manage to explain things and not in a single moment make me feel confused.
Another banger. Doing the work no one’s doing💪
Bro, that first animation looks cool
You've got a new sub! INCREDIBLE!!
Can you do My Hero Academia next!? I swear I would freak out 😂😂
The moment it blasted off, I smiled. You haven't ceased to amaze me!
It would be cooled if the red and blue xombined and turned to that purple!you still made beautiful animation, what an art...cheff kiss
Pretty cool stuff
Some tips that could massively improve this render, the smoke swirling around the ball shouldn't converge in the direction of the ball, instead, because of inersia, the smoke should converge to the opposite direction of the moviment, also, the swirling smoke and the ground smoke should have a more bluish or purplish look since in real life theres always environment light bouncing everywhere inside smoke.
In anime you don't need to follow the rules of physics strictly but having some comprehension of how motion usually works can help avoid the awkwardness valley. Despite that, I hope you keep up the good work! i'm not by any means trying to criticize your render or your work, i say this because i wanna help u improve since i like your content so mutch
I LOVE THE ART
"My balls looking pretty gangster" 💀
The Refraction in the end make the whole scene a lot more cool
Amazing, would be cooler if you did the whole reversal red and amplification blue fusing before the purple
I know nothing about vfx or any of the “node” and “mesh” talk but I was thoroughly entertained. The end result was tough!!!! Gojo is proud
one thing i noticed is that in the anime, the ball grows and then shrinks a likkle bit emphasizing the force it exerts
That was sick nah how hard was it cause it took almost like 1000days to do that i can’t imagine myself doing what you did
Gojo is gonna be so proud, im literally crying because of how beautiful it is
That shockwave distortion can be done in premiere pro, with a few clicks!
very cool effect!
love it near 10/10 just didn't f with the time dilation you add at the beginning and when the purple hollow is released this is alot to ask for but the buildings should be affected but still love the animation and effect best ive seen so far , cheers
I’m a huge fan of the anime and you replicated this scene perfectly
The only thing now that I want is sukunas domain malevolent kitchen
Bro it ooks amazing
LET HIM COOK🗣️🔥
here is a tip for animation: in blenedr u can import images and videos for reference just take the clip u wanna animate slap it on to blender and align ur rigged model to the anime charecter or whatever ur trying to animate . This makes it insanely easier
You should make a tutorial on how to make this lighting distortion in blender. That's very valuable for us blender users.
love it but l was hoping you did that lapse blue and reversal red merging into hollow purple
this was a really cool effect it would be epic if you could add a squash and stretch motion to it to really sell that its going fast.
I think this looks amazing. A solid 9/10. Now this is coming from someone that doesn’t do vfx, so you can roast me and tell me I don’t know anything and have no right to “criticize.” But I think a couple things that I feel could push this into a 10/10 has to to do with some small details.
I think that the lighting should have branches like it does in real life. Also be more curved. Because they did look a little flat and stiff.
Another thing I noticed when watching the original is that there is a blue aura around the sphere. But that’s more of a nitpick.
And lastly, you can see the space distorting and spiraling around the ball. Now idk how you would do that in 3D, but I think it would be cool to see.
So yeah, overall I think pretty much everything else is perfect. So the countless little layers and details that I didn’t talk about are absolutely mind blowing to me. It’s just a few small details I wanted to point out. Anyway, absolutely amazing animation man
it would be really cool if instead of adding a slow mo for the punchiness you added a impact frame, by making everything black and white for a milisecond
bro is basically the backup corridor crew (for when your vfx effects needs are not satisfied)
Awesome ❤😊
This is awesome
Definitely love the quality over quantity. I loved both this video and your other 3D anime effects as well, but personally I think I preferred this video over the last one. I liked seeing you put more time into one affect than trying to make several. I think this effect turned out amazingly. Love that you aren't afraid of getting things wrong at first and do look to be "perfect", trying again later. Don't give up on yourself or your skill. You are doing great. signed, a weeb that knows nothing of animation lol
Man that shock wave trick was a clever move
I am tired by only watching the path you have walked sir. How many days or weeks this took to make? For a second, I thought it is better to handdraw everything frame by frame but then it hit me again; once you create the core animation, just like the human figure you have shown, you can use it on every upcoming new episodes, seasons and even in other projects just by changing some parameters and textures. Then, giving your month for a single animation saves you for many years and projects to come. Thank you for sharing!
You should make use of impact frames, itll give that umpf you’re looking for
I don’t know if this helps, but if it is possible in the future you can make the ball carve out the floor to make it cooler, like the ball it erasing the floor
If you want to do energy balls or energy and fire related attacks Vfx in 3D, there’s also EmberGen which is really good
looks great, however I suggest you use the same idea from the dragon ball z one, of breaking the terrain such as the street and buildings (even in the iconic anime cubes), this also gives realism of where that debris under the ball is coming from
Fascinating
best one yet
Bro your effects are amazing but I you should add anime character also it will really awesome
The original is punchy cause of impact frames,
Extremely fast, black and white frames that last milliseconds but they give so much power to something!
Usually one or two frames, you don’t really see it but you feel it.
would've been so much better if it had impact frames but i still think you did an amazing job
The effect looks really cool, but take it from an FX animator, it would have been even better if you studied the rules of animations (captain obvious, ready to serve!)
The timing could be improved (the ball needs to leave faster) and I'd add a scale overshoot when it launches
Good luck! I'll learn from you too in the meantime
It's so cool but I think if you had put the red and blue balls in the way they mix it would have been perfect but that alone is a great achievement
In my opinion, small complex things in a big simple result makes something realistic.
Pls make the ball move faster and with speed blur I feel it would make the move feel even more powerful
yous leave a trail of big cubes on the ground in random rotations as it flies through the air to make it look like the effect is breaking up the earth
I recommend keeping the lil sucked around thy thing part when you feel ready to do more to this (if you are)
cursed clash qctually does this hollow purple cutscene really well
really cool, I love it
Please add impact frames on your upcoming projects
That's amazing
It will be awesome with some anime voicelines 😎
