I love when Isaiah talks about Christianity. Makes me as a Christian, so happy to finally have some good representation that isn’t awful.
I'm not religious but I think its honestly just interesting from a storytelling perspective.
yeah makes is easier to forget all pedos in this religion. yaaaaaaaaaaaay
Isaiah’s video about Purgatorio helped me convert
@@hopelessromantic3786Same! And I love the way he approaches it. Like OP said, he’s not an ass.
@@hopelessromantic3786 It's more than story telling. It's historically and archeology accurate
*reads title* "It's Philemon" * a couple minutes in* "Today we are talking about the Book of Philemon".
Hell yeah, brother.
I was thinking Hebrews but Philemon is probably more underrated. I had never even heard it preached on until a guest preacher taught on it at my church recently
Isaiah,
You have no idea how much it means to this severely lapsed Christian to hear a frank, honest account of the love of Christ from someone my own age.
No dogma. No dog-whistles. No agenda.
Just a discussion of a book.
God is working in you, man. You’re making a gay, semi-agnostic ex-Catholic want to seriously look at faith again.
Thank you.
I will pray for you! And if I may, I encourage you to go through his playlists in his channel. He has more bible breakdowns that are super interesting because of the way he explains things. I will pray that the Holy Spirit may reignite that hunger and thirst for an intimate relationship with Jesus. You can do this! And remember that any problem, physically and mentally, any concern, doubt, and any tribulation, can be overcome through God's help. Just pray that he may help you mature in him. Acknowledge your sins to him, keep in mind, nobody has to hear you confess, because Jesus is with you and he hears you, you only have to confess to him in private and you have to believe that his sacrifice on the cross is more than enough to wash it all away, recognize Jesus as your only Lord and Savior and you will re-establish a relationship with him. I am also working on getting closer to him, and sometimes it's hard because I start to think that my efforts won't change my sinful living, but then the Holy Spirit reminds me that it's not through my strength, but through Jesus' strength that I can beat my sins, resist and flee from my temptations and that one day I will be ready to share the good news with those around me. God bless you! ❤
Just wanted to say the Universe loves you Emily, truly 👍💜
The universe is incapable of love. Jesus is the supreme example of love. Because Jesus is alive, the Holy Spirit can change you for your intended purpose. Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works for which He has already prepared for us to walk in.”
@shadabonea Be honest man. Something that is not sentient does not love. In no way does it love anything. Things just happen all according to science, no love involved, if that's what you truly believe in, and that's okay. A sentient creator is capable of love.

Dude that's such a good idea, Isaiah if your reading this, please do that. Maybe it can be a second channel video like ranking your own vids.
Fun fact: the "70 times 7" number in the new testament isnt referring to an actual number, its just a nonsensically high number, like how we would say "a Bajillion"

I'm not Christian, I'm not religious at all, and honestly I'm really not even spiritual. But in spite of my negative opinions about religion, particularly as an institution, there is something inexplicably uplifting and comforting about seeing how inspired the Wendigoon is by his faith. The benevolence and sense of caring and compassion that he finds in his religious values is a beautiful thing to me.
Honestly as an agnostic i always love hearing Christians like you talk about the bible. its such a breath of fresh air to be able to hear and learn about it without someone trying to convert me or shame me lol. thanks wendigoon!

I currently am not religious, but I love when Wendigoon talks about Christianity. He's so passionate and knowledgeable in it, and delivers that without being preachy, instead it feels like he's just talking to a friend about something he loves. I'm glad we have people and Christians like him exist.
Even as a Christian myself, I agree that I appreciate he isn't super preachy. It helps information get out there to more folk and what have you. Being overly preachy isn't exactly a good thing, imo lol
What I know about Christianity, I learned from Wendigoon. Not even joking. I was always open to learning, but . . .the Bible is a big book to just read, and I knew I would lack a lot of context only reading the book(s). Thankfully Wendigoon makes movies. Also obligatory a lot of bad Christians put me off.
Thank you Wendigoon.
@@VAL-TotallyNotHAL Yeah, he seems like he makes the content more digestible, which I appreciate. I'm of the opinion that bad Christians are far worse than atheists (not that I've had issues with atheists at all).

You have literally no idea how amazing it is to have a content creator like Wendigoon making content so perfectly fine tuned to my interests. It’s not often you find a conspiracy and cryptid enthusiast who likes playing horror games and analyzing literature. But having him be a Jesus loving, gospel spreading Christian? That’s almost unheard of in this day and age. I hope that your content reaches far and wide throughout the internet, giving men, women and children a repeated opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel, all the while having fun with a nerdy UA-camr to show them the truth of God’s love.
I’m not gonna lie I’m a Christian teenager and wendigoon is kinda one of my role models rn with all his Biblical knowledge. It’s something that’s very admirable but also achievable too. I wish I could listen to him talk about the Bible more often but yeah

You’re the next video - “most underrated comment on my channel”
hi isaiah,
I was raised catholic and have struggled with my faith and religion for a long time. i had my doubts in god since i was 5 and i officially stopped believing when i was 12. this was mostly due to generational trauma (and how deeply it was tied to religion).
i use to be angry about religion, but now i wish i could believe. i find it so hard to place my faith in something that there is no tangible, solid, 100% proof of existing. and yet i know that is a very big part of faith.
i have tried to join christian church groups, but find myself turned off by their agendas and evangelical practices. i know that does not represent every group however. i feel the way you approach religion and the discussion of the bible is without judgement, without a clear bias you’re trying to push.
you speak of it out of love-it’s something that is really refreshing to hear, especially for a person who wants to embrace religion despite their own skepticism. i would definitely listen to a podcast of yours that went through the bible and just discussed aspects of christianity
thank you, and much love
I just wished to ask, and I don't mean to be pushy or preachy or anything, but if you received some evidence for the existence of God or the truth of Christianity, would you be willing to reconsider Christianity? I ask this because I was in a very similar situation to what you are describing and years ago I was presented with some of the evidence for Christianity and it changed my outlook on life. I ask this out of love because like I said, I understand and sympathize with your skepticism.
Love your Bible content Isaiah. As a fellow Christian it makes me so happy to see a good representation and discussion of our faith online. Keep up the good work and may God bless you.
I would literally pay to have you preach a sermon every Sunday. That was excellent 11/10

Hw has a whole bunch of bible videos bro! For a little while, he even did like bible studies and breakdowns of different books/chapters. I love the content he puts out overall with all the cryptids and stuff, but THESE videos are the ones that are truly useful. I encourage you to give them a watch if you haven't already so that that you keep on feeding that hunger for Jesus. I will pray for you bro, I too, am in a journey of reconciliation with our Lord Jesus.
God Bless. Jordan Peterson Bible series and Chuck Missler did the same for me!
Ive been atheist most of my life. Agnostic for the past few years. I bought a bible a few days ago and haven’t touched it yet. Ive been questioning things ive thought, things ive felt for awhile now. And i just wanted to let you know the way you describe grace the way you interpret and explain this story makes me wanna crack open this bible tomorrow. Makes me want to change to think to believe in something i thought impossible before. Always caught up in the how. How did these things happen? How were these things possible? Never the why. Why did these things happen? Why were these things possible? But most importantly why have i been so blind? So scared? Ive been holding myself back from Christ for too long. Thank you Isaiah, I believe your words have truly converted me. From this day forward i shall live my life through Christ. I will practice grace as you explain it in this video. I love you, thank you
I’m agnostic but I love hearing your videos about Christianity because they’re very beautiful and interesting!! Very fun to learn about😊
I’m just arriving at my therapy appointment and I listened to this on the drive over. As someone struggling to forgive their abusers (which is hindering my own healing), I needed to hear this. Thank you. I will try my very best to get to a point where I can have the grace to forgive those who hurt me, and myself for letting them live in my heart and mind and make me a bitter, lonely person.
For today, I have hope.
I’m praying for you❤️ You’ve got this, and are so much more powerful than you may think yourself to be!
Remember that forgiveness is for you and your inner peace. Not to dissolve them of their guilt.
God keep and bless you.
May you find peace and love in your journey 🙏🏻
i also think it’s about forgiving the human not the personality, imagine them as they were before the world got to them, it’s so strange yet humbling to think about “bad” people being kids and being more “pure in heart” i can’t see forgiving the actions but forgiving the human being or soul is something else and i’ve struggled to define it as a difference
I'm atheist, but I absolutely adore your videos on the bible and Christianity as a whole. You're so passionate and you're not pushing it on anyone, and so I listen, and I learn.
You're a great man, you've been the source of many school nights spent staying up, learning about murder spirals, or serial killers, or, like this one, Christianity.
Thank you, Wendigoon
I wouldn’t go as far to say he isn’t pushing it because he is he even said on his second channel that his religion is the most important and he try’s to push it whenever possible he said that’s why he stoped doing Bible videos because it wasn’t a good way to get people to convert to his religion but yeah he doesn’t shove it down your throat like most others do

I've had a long history of going back and forth with religion, your the only person who has made me see it in a different light. The way you speak about God is so passionate and kind... it feels nice to not get so caught up in the conflict of religion and just hear about it from someone who truly loves it.
Do more of these!! This actually made me tear up, thank you so much for the great message. A very necessary and hard hitting book 💖
Fun fact about Philemon and Onesimus. 50 years after Philemon was written, Ignatius of Antioch wrote a letter to the church in Ephesus, and mentions that the Bishop of Ephesus was actually Onesimus. It seems that the former servant, after receiving that Christ-like grace and love from both Paul and Philemon, proceeded to lead and teach a congregation to follow suit in Christ's grace and love. I can't help but think that the reason Philemon is in the Bible is because Onesimus kept it by his side all those years, reminiscing about how the grace and forgiveness embodied by that letter is what brought him to where he was now.
Thank you for doing a video on this book. I must admit I pay it less mind than it deserves.
Edit: Thank you Wendigoon, very cool

@@IxJK_ Oh I don't read the Bible recreationally, I read it competitively. And yeah, believe it or not, despite outward appearances my channel is actually dedicated to theology and the Bible.
Another fun fact, there were cases of slaves/servants being ministers at the same Church, where their master would be just a regular Church members. Which is why even as early as 2nd century we can see Christian commentators speaking up against slavery as an institution. If you have to treat your slaves as brothers, than slavery stops making sense altogether. And Paul's letters, especially to Philemon, certainly helped that. Paul's idea wasn't being political reformist, changing society from top to down, he wanted people at the bottom change, so the whole society would see the absurdity of slavery. How can you put a price on someone, who God died for? How can you measure image and the likeness of God with money?

Onesimus, as a servant, was also very likely illiterate and not privy to the content of Paul's letters until Philemon read them, marched Onesimus out on Sunday, and read it aloud for the whole church to hear. It's not hard to imagine him trembling for weeping as he realized what was happening.
Hmmm maybe, maybe not... it's kinda wonky how all that worked. Servants... might need to do paper work... yeah,....
It's possible. Literacy certainly wasn't universal at the time, but it was valued, and there were definitely slaves (as well as servants, which is a bit of a difference) who could read and write.
Why would he be trembling or weeping?

Little known fact, Saul wasn't renamed Paul due to his conversion. This is a massive and super common misconception. In fact, he only was first called Paul 4 chapters after his conversion (Chapter 13). It is more likely that it was because the name Saul in Greek, Saulos, was also slang term relating to prostitution, and he changed it when going to Hellenistic cities (Those that spoke Greek and had Greek culture) to avoid embarrassment. If you look at the text, the only text regarding the name change is just a random side note that says "Saul, who was also called Paul".
saul goodman
Good to know!
That actually makes logical sense.
This reminds of how East Asian names have different forms of the "same name"
Plus, (little detail) Luke writes "Barnabas and Saul" in Jewish areas and switches to "Paul and Barnabas " in Gentile scenarios to mark who's the leader, or more prominent in the situation.
We had a discussion like this at my young adult group meeting last week. It was mostly on the topic of mercy, and how it goes hand in hand with forgiveness. It’s very easy to talk about forgiveness and how it should be done, but it’s very hard to put in practice. This is where we’re reminded the important role of grace plays in our lives.
I really enjoy going into these topics!

I'm not at all religious, but have always been interested in learning about Christianity as it just fascinates me. The way you speak candidly about the Bible and the teachings without preaching or forcing your beliefs on the viewer is such a huge relief. It makes it so much easier to learn without losing interest. Please keep making this type of content!
Agreed! Also without expressing inherent morality in actions
If you are worried about how the material is presented but want to learn more get a good study Bible, concordance, maybe a parallel bible and just read yourself. Nothing in the Bible is secret but everything in it is inspired. Only good stuff can come from reading it. Even if you don't believe like I do you at least will understand people like me and gain a rich understanding of ancient Judaism and first century Roman life.
very much agreed. when i watch these types of videos it's either someone not Christian completely shitting on the belief or someone who is a fervent Christian and wants you to convert at all costs. Wendigoon makes learning this super enjoyable and isn't forcing his belief on you
@@Ikantspell4 I would love to do this one day with all the major religious texts, it's so interesting from a historical perspective
Saying "one true god" is to me, preaching and forcing beliefs as it's saying that everyone out here that isn't Christian is fake. And considering lots of gods were made into demons, it's even more gross.
Your emphasis on forgiveness was spot on Wendigoon. I haven't spoken to my brother in over 5 years because I haven't forgiven him...I'm not saying that this video has completely changed my mind about him, but it certainly feels like God was speaking through you to me by saying that forgiveness is something to work towards, but as long as you try, you just might succeed. Thank you for posting this, friend. May God bless you and your family ✝️
EDIT: The response to this was surprising yet very touching. I appreciate everyone's words of wisdom...more than you all realize. Thank you all, and may Christ be forever with you and your hearts. 🥹
I hope you two can reconcile. You never know how many heartbeats you get.
The value of forgiveness depends on what the other person did. I’m going to assume that your brother didn’t do something, like, kill someone or something.
It is a long story, but my sister didn't speak to me for a year because of my addiction. She forgave me. I'm about to have three years clean and I have a beautiful daughter, an amazing wife and couldn't be more grateful for life. I don't think I'd be here without my sisters forgiveness. Please consider just reaching out and saying hi to your brother. You never know what something that seems so little, could end up being. God bless

Dude! This was great! I love these easy break downs of the Bible. I always get tripped up trying to understand the way things are phrased. Like: "albeit I do not say to thee how though owest unto me even thine own self beside." has me totally lost. But your translations to our current vernacular is SUPER helpful. Please do more.
Wendi, your content is a massive inspiration to me. Not just your silly videos about cryptids and horror but also videos like these. I’ve been struggling with severe anxiety and a lack of faith in God for a long time but this video really comforted me and possibly rekindled my faith in Christianity. Hearing someone talk about the Bible with so much love and compassion instead of unnecessary fear mongering and ignorance is such a fresh breath of air to see. I seriously hope you consider doing more videos like this in the future, they’re very comforting and fun to watch.
Wendigoon actually got me interested in the Bible again, he was one of the many pushes I got to get where I am now. Got baptized again and saved not too long ago. Love you Wendi 🥳
Compelled to thank you for standing up for and presenting the Word in a real and passionate way. Not just preaching at people but showing what the lessons contained within mean and how they look in execution. You are an inspiration to myself and a lot of other believers, I'm sure. Makes my heart so happy to see you strong in the faith even amongst such success and likely pressures from other personalities and influencers. God bless you, brother!
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you, Wendigoon. God bless.

i sincerely hope you never stop making these types of videos where you break down books of the bible. I'm 17 and only recently started to become closer to God despite being a Christian for most if not my entire life. These videos (including your old sunday school-esque videos) have helped me understand the bible more due to how you break it down and how entertaining you make it. I appreciate the fact that you don't do it in a way that is overwhelming. I now look forward to studying the bible on my own and i can't thank you enough for that :)
Used to be a Deist, been a Christian for 7 years now. Its hard for me to choose. Joseph's story, Jacob's son, has always been my favorite. A redemption story for someone who remains faithful to God. However my favorite book is Judges. The amount of evil and chaos that happens as the book constantly goes over the theme of this is what men do when they abandon God, do whatever they think is right, become their own God. A constant truth that stands across all ages of mankind's existence, even today. Became convinced of Christ due to fulfillment of Messianic prophecy, foreshadowing towards Christ throughout the Old Testament, and the fact that the resurrection actually happening is being the best explanation to the events regarding the resurrection.
It’s really humbling seeing someone else with such a positive connection with Christianity. I am Christian but I lose my way many times and Wendi’s Bible videos really help put it all into perspective

@@astyros1061 Your comment encourages me, as a Sunday school teacher. I've had kids these last few years that are pretty pretty wild. I mean that in the most affectionate way lol. There's no way I can get them to sit for long and do a traditional class, without really being on them. I don't want them to feel like they're in school and half to be there. I'd rather they want to be there. So I have to have little conversations. I have to get their attention quick and engage with them. So a lot of times, I'm just like, "Hey do you know what this story, where this or that happened?" Or, "What do you think this means?" They spend most of the time playing, and goofing around. Thanks for reminding me, sometimes the informal can be have a better impact.

Ecclesiastes is my favorite book. Many don’t like how “depressing” it sounds, but the book just comes off so relatable.
Most of it is shittalking everything for being vanity, but it ends pretty beautifully with chapter 11, pointing out that while it's easy to succumb to the depressing thoughts in the rest of the book, there's still beauty. 11:9-10 - "Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou that for all these things God will bring thee into judgement. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for childhood and youth are vanity", using the same language that people disregard as "too depressing" from earlier in the book to emphasise a whole different point continued in the 12th and final chapter. It's a fantastic book that definitely also deserves better than just being "the cold one".
@@plebisMaximus Yes! Imo, it’s a book for nihilists. A person who finds every thing meaningless only to see a light at the end of the tunnel

Hey there’s a slim chance you’re going to see this but slim is better than none so I still wanted to put it out there. Brother if it wasn’t for you and your religious videos. I would have never found god again. Back around when your Dante’s inferno series was being posted I was going through some troubling stuff. My life was in shambles and I was miserable. But listening to you narrate and break down Dante’s inferno and paradise lost, with such passion and emotion spoke to me on a deep level. then going back and binging all your Sunday school videos gave me the courage to actually go back to church (out of my own free Will) and back down the path to becoming a born again Christian and being saved. And again that’s coming from someone who was a hardcore atheist for over 14 years. I used to mock god, spit on his name, reject him and just be a miserable person. But things started to click over time and I was honestly terrified of going to church out fear of just how hateful I was against it to begin with. It was always “well if there is a god why the hell would he love me or forgive me.” Then I saw your videos and episode by episode I just said “fine I’ll go, I’ll give it a shot.” And brother I couldn’t be more happier than I am now. I still have many years left on this earth but I know I can spend them in not only peace of body but mind and soul. Please never stop making video about the Bible or religious texts or anything biblical because I know there are others out there like me who are in the gray who just need a sign like I did. Please never stop. And thank you for giving me the courage to become born again. Seriously brother thank you. You have a blessed life my brother.

As a trans person, my relationship with religion and scripture is rocky to say the least not even going into how my nan, unknowingly and unintentionally, further complicated it for myself but I just wanna say thank you Wendigoon.
Thank you for reigniting the flame I had when I was younger to want to understand what being religious means for so many. As a young adult trying to find his way in the world, it has been through your videos that I'm beginning to understand what people preach about when they talk about the Lord.
While I wouldn't say I'm devout or anything, as frankly I'm still trying to figure things out, thank you for reminding me of what I held and, in a way, thought was so true when I was younger.
What I always took away from the sabbaths with my nan and the few times I took religion classes in school and whatnot as young child was that above all else, the Lord does not care what transgressions you might have commited or may potentially commit in the future (within reason of course), He cares only that you hold a space for Him, just as He holds a space for you.
I may be wrong in thinking this, but it brings me peace. As someone who didn't understand why I hated the supposed temple of the Lord people told me was my body, who then had to grapple with wondering if I am forever condemned for trying to make my body a home, the peace that thought provides me and that you further inspire is greatly appreciated.
Perhaps God is always with us, or perhaps we just like to think so, regardless- Thank you for your videos and the message they get across.

I ain't Christian, nor am I even religious, but when Wendigoon makes a video on something bible-related, none of my personal indifference exists anymore. tldr: aww yiss, bible time
I grew up as a Christian. In fact, my dad is a pastor. I've read the Bible backward and forwards, I've heard all kinds of analysis and theories about the Bible and its teachings, and while I don't believe in God anymore I still believe there is a lot you can learn from the basics of Christianity. Specifically on topics like love, forgiveness, and acceptance. Lots of people will twist and distort the meaning of Christianity to fit their own agenda, but at the end of the day the core principle is as simple as 'love thy neighbor'.
I've been diving into a lot of Wendigoon's back catalog and really enjoying a lot of the religious videos he's put out. It's been very refreshing to find a man of faith who seems to grasp the true meaning of Christianity, as opposed to the onslaught of judgemental and hateful "Christians" on the internet. Keep up the good work Wendi
The core principal is to believe in Jesus as Lord and you will be saved.
@@breakingtide Incredibly selfish view. Shows what kind of person you are.
@@bismuth7730it’s only selfish if you ignore the fact that if you’re making Jesus Lord over you, you must love your neighbor as yourself and follow all Jesus’ other commands as well. In other words, to make Jesus Lord is to love your neighbor, there is no separation. If you don’t love your neighbor, you have not made him Lord.
@@alexandria1663 they meant it was selfish to follow the teachings just to save yourself (because that’s kind of what the comment implies).
Meaning that if there was no threat of going to helI, they probably wouldn’t care about making Jesus their Lord
@@Potato-fc5zx I know what they meant by the comment, which is why I provided the context of what a Christ follower means when they say “make Christ your Lord and be saved”. If someone attempts to do this selfishly, they fail to do it at all, according to what Christianity itself teaches. Given this fact, I don’t think that comment should be taken to imply self-centeredness or a fear of hell, and the fact it’s being interpreted so uncharitably is indicative of the ways Christians are often misunderstood or mischaracterized. What he said is true, no qualification needed, because what he said already encompasses a love for one’s neighbor.
My priest just recently talked about the Book of Philemon and ended up being our topic of discussion on Wednesday night at the beginning of Great Lent.
