    Isaiah,
You have no idea how much it means to this severely lapsed Christian to hear a frank, honest account of the love of Christ from someone my own age.
No dogma. No dog-whistles. No agenda.
Just a discussion of a book.
God is working in you, man. You’re making a gay, semi-agnostic ex-Catholic want to seriously look at faith again.
    Thank you.

I will pray for you! And if I may, I encourage you to go through his playlists in his channel. He has more bible breakdowns that are super interesting because of the way he explains things. I will pray that the Holy Spirit may reignite that hunger and thirst for an intimate relationship with Jesus. You can do this! And remember that any problem, physically and mentally, any concern, doubt, and any tribulation, can be overcome through God's help. Just pray that he may help you mature in him. Acknowledge your sins to him, keep in mind, nobody has to hear you confess, because Jesus is with you and he hears you, you only have to confess to him in private and you have to believe that his sacrifice on the cross is more than enough to wash it all away, recognize Jesus as your only Lord and Savior and you will re-establish a relationship with him. I am also working on getting closer to him, and sometimes it's hard because I start to think that my efforts won't change my sinful living, but then the Holy Spirit reminds me that it's not through my strength, but through Jesus' strength that I can beat my sins, resist and flee from my temptations and that one day I will be ready to share the good news with those around me. God bless you! ❤

    hi isaiah,
I was raised catholic and have struggled with my faith and religion for a long time. i had my doubts in god since i was 5 and i officially stopped believing when i was 12. this was mostly due to generational trauma (and how deeply it was tied to religion).
i use to be angry about religion, but now i wish i could believe. i find it so hard to place my faith in something that there is no tangible, solid, 100% proof of existing. and yet i know that is a very big part of faith.
i have tried to join christian church groups, but find myself turned off by their agendas and evangelical practices. i know that does not represent every group however. i feel the way you approach religion and the discussion of the bible is without judgement, without a clear bias you’re trying to push.
you speak of it out of love-it’s something that is really refreshing to hear, especially for a person who wants to embrace religion despite their own skepticism. i would definitely listen to a podcast of yours that went through the bible and just discussed aspects of christianity
    thank you, and much love

I just wished to ask, and I don't mean to be pushy or preachy or anything, but if you received some evidence for the existence of God or the truth of Christianity, would you be willing to reconsider Christianity? I ask this because I was in a very similar situation to what you are describing and years ago I was presented with some of the evidence for Christianity and it changed my outlook on life. I ask this out of love because like I said, I understand and sympathize with your skepticism.

Fun fact about Philemon and Onesimus. 50 years after Philemon was written, Ignatius of Antioch wrote a letter to the church in Ephesus, and mentions that the Bishop of Ephesus was actually Onesimus. It seems that the former servant, after receiving that Christ-like grace and love from both Paul and Philemon, proceeded to lead and teach a congregation to follow suit in Christ's grace and love. I can't help but think that the reason Philemon is in the Bible is because Onesimus kept it by his side all those years, reminiscing about how the grace and forgiveness embodied by that letter is what brought him to where he was now.
Thank you for doing a video on this book. I must admit I pay it less mind than it deserves.

Another fun fact, there were cases of slaves/servants being ministers at the same Church, where their master would be just a regular Church members. Which is why even as early as 2nd century we can see Christian commentators speaking up against slavery as an institution. If you have to treat your slaves as brothers, than slavery stops making sense altogether. And Paul's letters, especially to Philemon, certainly helped that. Paul's idea wasn't being political reformist, changing society from top to down, he wanted people at the bottom change, so the whole society would see the absurdity of slavery. How can you put a price on someone, who God died for? How can you measure image and the likeness of God with money?

Little known fact, Saul wasn't renamed Paul due to his conversion. This is a massive and super common misconception. In fact, he only was first called Paul 4 chapters after his conversion (Chapter 13). It is more likely that it was because the name Saul in Greek, Saulos, was also slang term relating to prostitution, and he changed it when going to Hellenistic cities (Those that spoke Greek and had Greek culture) to avoid embarrassment. If you look at the text, the only text regarding the name change is just a random side note that says "Saul, who was also called Paul".

Used to be a Deist, been a Christian for 7 years now. Its hard for me to choose. Joseph's story, Jacob's son, has always been my favorite. A redemption story for someone who remains faithful to God. However my favorite book is Judges. The amount of evil and chaos that happens as the book constantly goes over the theme of this is what men do when they abandon God, do whatever they think is right, become their own God. A constant truth that stands across all ages of mankind's existence, even today. Became convinced of Christ due to fulfillment of Messianic prophecy, foreshadowing towards Christ throughout the Old Testament, and the fact that the resurrection actually happening is being the best explanation to the events regarding the resurrection.

Most of it is shittalking everything for being vanity, but it ends pretty beautifully with chapter 11, pointing out that while it's easy to succumb to the depressing thoughts in the rest of the book, there's still beauty. 11:9-10 - "Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou that for all these things God will bring thee into judgement. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for childhood and youth are vanity", using the same language that people disregard as "too depressing" from earlier in the book to emphasise a whole different point continued in the 12th and final chapter. It's a fantastic book that definitely also deserves better than just being "the cold one".

Hey there’s a slim chance you’re going to see this but slim is better than none so I still wanted to put it out there. Brother if it wasn’t for you and your religious videos. I would have never found god again. Back around when your Dante’s inferno series was being posted I was going through some troubling stuff. My life was in shambles and I was miserable. But listening to you narrate and break down Dante’s inferno and paradise lost, with such passion and emotion spoke to me on a deep level. then going back and binging all your Sunday school videos gave me the courage to actually go back to church (out of my own free Will) and back down the path to becoming a born again Christian and being saved. And again that’s coming from someone who was a hardcore atheist for over 14 years. I used to mock god, spit on his name, reject him and just be a miserable person. But things started to click over time and I was honestly terrified of going to church out fear of just how hateful I was against it to begin with. It was always “well if there is a god why the hell would he love me or forgive me.” Then I saw your videos and episode by episode I just said “fine I’ll go, I’ll give it a shot.” And brother I couldn’t be more happier than I am now. I still have many years left on this earth but I know I can spend them in not only peace of body but mind and soul. Please never stop making video about the Bible or religious texts or anything biblical because I know there are others out there like me who are in the gray who just need a sign like I did. Please never stop. And thank you for giving me the courage to become born again. Seriously brother thank you. You have a blessed life my brother.

As a young adult trying to find his way in the world, it has been through your videos that I'm beginning to understand what people preach about when they talk about the Lord.
While I wouldn't say I'm devout or anything, as frankly I'm still trying to figure things out, thank you for reminding me of what I held and, in a way, thought was so true when I was younger.
What I always took away from the sabbaths with my nan and the few times I took religion classes in school and whatnot as young child was that above all else, the Lord does not care what transgressions you might have commited or may potentially commit in the future (within reason of course), He cares only that you hold a space for Him, just as He holds a space for you.
I may be wrong in thinking this, but it brings me peace. As someone who didn't understand why I hated the supposed temple of the Lord people told me was my body, who then had to grapple with wondering if I am forever condemned for trying to make my body a home, the peace that thought provides me and that you further inspire is greatly appreciated.
Perhaps God is always with us, or perhaps we just like to think so, regardless- Thank you for your videos and the message they get across.

Keep the bible content coming, please!
I was an edgy "religion is bad >:( " kid/teen but, the older I get, the more I appreciate the teachings of the bible and even incorporate the lessons in my every day life. Despite not being a Christian, myself, I think the books of the bible incredibly moving and interesting. Plus the way you deliver the stories on here makes it easier to keep up without feeling overwhelmed. Many thanks!

I grew up as a Christian. In fact, my dad is a pastor. I've read the Bible backward and forwards, I've heard all kinds of analysis and theories about the Bible and its teachings, and while I don't believe in God anymore I still believe there is a lot you can learn from the basics of Christianity. Specifically on topics like love, forgiveness, and acceptance. Lots of people will twist and distort the meaning of Christianity to fit their own agenda, but at the end of the day the core principle is as simple as 'love thy neighbor'.
I've been diving into a lot of Wendigoon's back catalog and really enjoying a lot of the religious videos he's put out. It's been very refreshing to find a man of faith who seems to grasp the true meaning of Christianity, as opposed to the onslaught of judgemental and hateful "Christians" on the internet. Keep up the good work Wendi

The core principal is to believe in Jesus as Lord and you will be saved.

@@bismuth7730it’s only selfish if you ignore the fact that if you’re making Jesus Lord over you, you must love your neighbor as yourself and follow all Jesus’ other commands as well. In other words, to make Jesus Lord is to love your neighbor, there is no separation. If you don’t love your neighbor, you have not made him Lord.

@@alexandria1663 they meant it was selfish to follow the teachings just to save yourself (because that’s kind of what the comment implies).
Meaning that if there was no threat of going to helI, they probably wouldn’t care about making Jesus their Lord

@@Potato-fc5zx I know what they meant by the comment, which is why I provided the context of what a Christ follower means when they say “make Christ your Lord and be saved”. If someone attempts to do this selfishly, they fail to do it at all, according to what Christianity itself teaches. Given this fact, I don’t think that comment should be taken to imply self-centeredness or a fear of hell, and the fact it’s being interpreted so uncharitably is indicative of the ways Christians are often misunderstood or mischaracterized. What he said is true, no qualification needed, because what he said already encompasses a love for one’s neighbor.

My priest just recently talked about the Book of Philemon and ended up being our topic of discussion on Wednesday night at the beginning of Great Lent.
It is a great example of love and compassion for others that we should follow. Peace be with you all!☦️
