They employ vets at their shows, as part of their road crews and vets help fabricate a lot of their stage dressing s and elements.

In the end with Jacoby walking by seeing the bearded buddy against the wall homeless, you can see him mouth the words, “Look at me! You know me! You saved my life brother!” and he stops fighting him and gets still, you see in his eyes he then recognizes him, and he starts to cry.

I'm a navy vet and saw their show last year in Tampa. Instead of playing encores they (mostly Ivan) literally gave the shirt off his back.....his watch....damn near everything he had on to vets. And made all vets at the show raise their hand and be recognized. Saw what you want about Ivan and the guys but he absolutely loves the vets. And I'll be a fan till I die

My uncle in everything but biology, he was a marine. He can't talk to me about what he went through, but I see it in his behavior and the way he holds me. It's always tight, like he's afraid to let go. I'm autistic, and i always want touch from specific people i love. He never gets annoyed by it and anytime he's over, i always fall asleep on him. I have ptsd but i cant even begin to understand what you go through. All i can say is thank you. I wish i could do more but. I cherish your service and the military always has support from me. When the man in the suit cries and then wipes off the dirt/tears on the other veteran took me over the edge emotionally. You have 4 men who all fought right along side each other and all 4 are experiencing different things in their lives and only 1 of the 4 is doing well which goes along with how many veterans experience difficulties.

While he was in basic he had an affair with a woman in basic with him. A divorce followed. You are correct that the reason could be anything. I have been part of that first statistic. Even worse, the cost of insurance and upkeep on a "wet clinic" (where drugs/alcohol is allowed) is so prohibitive that they are almost impossible to keep running. So I stayed high and homeless until two years ago when I got to walk my 21 year old daughter down the aisle. I've come a long way in the last 2 years, got a long way to go.

He was an awesome friend and man, just too many damn demons. The pain he left behind can't compare to what he went through and we all understand that, but it doesn't help. "WE ARE FAILING THEM" is an understatement. I am thankful to all you veterans and have an appreciation for what some go through. I will never understand how we as a nation allow the bravest of the brave go through these hardships. There was a documentary about that topic, and this was something that happened to vets even going back to the Revolutionary war.

My grandpa (now mid 60’s) was a marine at 18. I thank God he wasn’t a part of these statistics. The PTSD is still going strong tho… as a kid I never understood why his mindset was ‘twisted’ in a way; never put your hands on your loved ones, but it’s ok to scream and break things around you when they piss you off even a little bit? I now know he never wanted it to be like that either. I know he tries to love as much as he can even when angry. I unfortunately now have PTSD and it really sets me back when I realize a mental disorder is what brought me and a veteran closer in a way that neither one of us deserved. Sad..

Hey guys, would love to see a reaction video to disturbed reason to fight. I am a veteran myself this song hits me differently evrytime I hear it. Reason to fight hits me differently evrytime I hear it as well. I have slipped into depression more than once in the 6 years since I got out. My family and these songs saw me through each time. Thanks to all those who served before me with me and after me. Thoughts and prayers go out to those deployed overseas in or near combat zones. Come home safe everyone.

Hello. I'm French, and I don't understand how this happens in your country. No disregard to Americans, you are all, or those I met actually, very kind and generous, but in France, vet budget in apolitical, like, a politician would suggest to touch to it, their carrier would end, from both left and right. I mean, ONE veteran fell in the crack of the system and died homeless, there was a full on Senate investigation, and heads fell, and not a low rank, both in the military and administration. So to see this, it's heartbreaking.

Somehow I came across your video. PTSD can be a hidden problem for some. I know,my husband came home from 4 years of being in the military. He did 2 tour’s in Iraq in as a combat medic. When you’ve never encountered PTSD with a close one you don’t have any idea of why they changed. It took me awhile to figure it out and for him to accept it. We are going on 20 years of marriage and still dealing with it. Having one son who is in the military now and a daughter joining after her last year of high school I will be looking and I will be fighting for their mental health. Thank you to all our veterans. This song has always made a heavy hit to me. I’ve traced my genealogy and I’m the first boy in my family history that hasn’t served in the military for 300 years and I’m the last boy in family. I maxed out all their tests multiple times but they kept denying me and wouldn’t say why even when they were desperate for people. I was confused but I’m starting to think it was a blessing. Who would I be today if they accepted. It didn’t end good for my relatives and many friends. But still I always wanted to uphold my family name. I like who and where I am today but always wondering what if.

My brother is a Vietnam Vet. I have seen him struggle so much. We recently lost the youngest brother. I have only seen my brother cry once in my whole life up to this point and thats when we lost our mom. Then to lose our brother just broke him. They were "connected at the hip" as the people around here would say. Me and him dont talk much but it broke me seeing him like this. There are 4 of us left in which i am the youngest. No one really understands untill you look a combat vet in the eyes during a funeral and burial of a close family member and see tears come from this rock hard person. He has never talked to anyone about his time in Nam. He said we dont need that picture in our heads.

Seeing the clip kinda changed the meaning of the song for me and it became so much deeper and meaningful. Now that you've seen the clip, turn your back on the video and listen to the lyrics. First and foremost thank you for your service and for volunteering to protect us. What pisses me off is that our "leaders" are more worried about people in other countries than our own, especially our military veterans. This also falls on those members of the country who treat our veterans poorly. Our veterans volunteered to fight for this country while others sat on their butts doing nothing. They deserve the respect they earned defending this country. We need to do so much better especially for our veterans!
There is a video I saw of the band during a concert stopping and recognizing a veteran in the audience who's daughter had written to them about him. Not only did they recognize him they also had found out that the daughter was having trouble getting money to go to college, they helped her go to college. I can't remember if it was just the first year or all of her schooling. I'm sure there are more videos of similar things but that was the one I saw. They are awesome.

The “You saved my life brother” line breaks me every time. You also see how that scene mirrors the one overseas where the black man gets shot. The bearded man uses the cloth around his neck to tie the black man’s wound & he grabs him by the collar to get him up & help him get help. In the ending scene, the black man uses his handkerchief to help stop the bearded man’s tears (his “wound”) & grabs him up by the collar (same way) to get him up so he can help him get help.

I have lived outside the gates at Ft Meade my whole life. I went to high school and middle school on base. So many of my friends were military kids and they went into the military after graduation.
Desert Storm & Grenada were the first things that they experienced, then 2001 hit... So many of them came back changed, they lost everything and lost themselves. I have spent many nights sitting with friends talking them, crying with them to get them to reach out to the VA for mental health services.
