Love that you so often improve, rather than just start over. And your narrating is clear and easy to follow!
Reworking/upgrading our projects doubles the satisfaction/fun! Also shows what we’ve learned along the way.
The thread locking glue struck a chord…thread locking glue a prior owner applied to RV lug nuts turned a flat tire into a several hour affair for the poor Tire Center employees staying late to help us. Their pneumatic wrenches kept breaking trying to unscrew the darn things. Thread Locking Glue: Just Say No!
I made this new design for our renewed haunt! Thank You so,so much for being a great teacher! Bob and Debbie in Oregon!
Figured what I did wrong this may help others. The two 90 degree brackets used as a pivot point under the tilting table needs to be offset a tad. You need to ensure that when actuating the push lever the table tilts. If it’s in the center it does not rotate as it should. Second you were not kidding about the trial and error when it comes to the radius of the crank it takes a very close pivot point in order to pull the movement off.
I’m using a 24 inch long flower box made of plastic that was on sale at my local store. Cut the bottom out, I made my risers for the pivot just below the height of the flower box. Instead of using foam board I’m using that and painting it all to match. Thank you for your videos and inspiration. Looking up crank mechanisms online also helps to familiarize yourself with the mechanics.
We LOVE your saying "Go make Something!" B&D
I like how simple things like this make things better! I knew that you needed a second bar on that mechanism and while you didn't mention it, I saw that you had a short one on the motor shaft that connects to the push bar. And I feel like you should reinforce that motor mount with screws so it won't come off the base, I don't trust CA glue, wood glue, etc. with any mechanical mechanism... we all know how Halloween stuff works: It's works just fine until you set it in the haunt and 5 minutes before it's show time it's broke... Dang it Mr. Murphy's Law! BTW: I missed the premiere this morning, I like hanging out with you and all the regulars in chat.
May be our next idea, Thank You very much! Bob and Debbie in Oregon!
how about a video on the shadow piano player in Haunted Mansion, or something with the ride car and the hitch hiking ghosts towards the end of the ride. Like to see how you would approach something like that. Pretty much anything you do is always appreciated and looks amazing.
I live in the north east. October brings cold damp storms this time of year. I love many of the mechanical props, but i have to prepare for lots of water. I'll combine some of your waterproofing videos along with watherproofing material.
In all my years of mechanicing and building I have never thought to myself "Sure was a great idea putting thread lock on"
It has always caused more headache for furture me.
Yeah. It’s fine if you never need to disassemble. Lol
Solid upgrade! I have some old props I've been avoiding for the embarrassing clumsiness of their builds. Thanks for the reminder to tackle them.
Any time!
another GREAT informational video, thanks for breaking it down - I especially appreciate the links...GO GIANTS!!
That was a great little upgrade! I really need to think about making some moving props.
You should!
Cool!!! Thank You!! Much Appreciated!!!! 👍😎
Thanks for watching!
Great job! I might have to do one of these myself!
Go for it!
Great tips and upgrade. The hat, not so much. LOL
LOL
Fantastic Halloween prop, I’m really looking forward to Halloween this year 💀🦇🧟♂️Thank you so much for sharing
Wow, well that was perfect for my needs now!
I knew you’d appreciate this.
Do more like this!! Imma make this! Love it. Thank you!!!
That's pretty cool!
I need to plan my Halloween items in advance. Thanks
Planning for next year is how I get over my November 1st blues.
NICE!
Thank you!
Cool
I like this rework over the first one, which I tried to build.😉
HOWEVER, do you have a configuration that would rock the tombstone left and right? Or for that matter in listing circles?🤔
I built, for this upcoming All Hollows Eve, four soft surfaced tombstones. They are constructed of the same nylon fabric, that are used in Used Car Lots.😂
The major DIY effect is a use of Plastic Paint as weathering. I'm thinking of how I could add RBG LED lights inside & outside the air bag. The LED's will have a weather tight controller box. The Arduino Mini will alter the display randomly.🤨
And the controlled inflation and deflation will provide the motion.😅

Try this video for the left/right movement: ua-cam.com/video/SsnlSAI3vm0/v-deo.html
It’s an older video that isn’t a tutorial, but you’ll be able to see how I did it.
Thanks! I'll give it a try next weekend.

The only bad thing about your channel is that if you try to binge it the same music being in every episode gets quite repetitive lol
Otherwise I love it! Thanks
Funny you should say that, I just changed the background music. Hopefully it'll help make it less repetitive.
I love the idea I'm definitely going to try this. I'll just have to keep an eye on the weather we get a lot of rain and even snow in Ohio around the end of October
Love these videos! I want to make a couple of these for my front yard! QUESTION: how do you waterproof or provide drainage to the motor housing? It looks like it’s all MDF, but yours looks super dry! How?!
You can weather seal the mdf or even just paint it with exterior house paint. But the honest answer is living in Southern California where we don’t get weather. Lol
