Crushing it! I did mortgages for almost 20 years and I want to move to Hawaii in 3 years. I watch your videos and please don’t change your style. Drive around, talk, eat, swim, hike and just be you! Thank you
Our first home was in Halekou, Kaneohe, a home my father built by himself 1947. Was all cow pasture and dairies those days. Gov Sam King lived down the street and also one of the Kamakas'. Moved to Kailua 1954 because my Mom could no longer handle the wet conditions, health wise. Loved what I remember of Halekou days.
So glad you talk about the weather. I got lucky to find Ewa Beach and Kapolei for my happy place for my body, mind and spirit. Friends laugh that suburbia with less rain suits me. I turned down living in Hawaii Kai for the convenience and weather out west. It is really important to understand the unique characteristics of the geography and how it suits individuals. I would be thrilled to live windward because it is beautifully lush and there is nothing in the world like the Koololu Mountains. The bouncing surf makes Kailua Beach is my favorite. Happy though on that near desert Ewa Plain. It seems to be 45 minutes to anywhere without traffic...lol. Must be my older age to be grateful to be so close to Queen's West which has evolved into a regional gem of a hospital and medical center for geriatrics and family medicine. Mahalo Derek for your educational videos. Core Team Hawaii rocks with the Moving Hawaii videos. I learn so much!

I live in DC/Maryland area and pretty much suffer allergy once the Spring season started. However every time I go to Hawaii/Oahu, my allergy are gone. I just came back last month from another visit to Oahu and of course, took the time to drive to Kaneohe .. no allergy and enjoyed my time.

I really enjoy your videos. I’m thinking of moving to Hawaii to Oahu. I’ve actually apply for a job there. If I do end up getting the job I will certainly connect with you around getting a house. What are the real estate fees on Hawaii?
Anywhere where the humidity is above 50% I believe it is, you will have dust mite dander. I have allergies and it’s annoying. Considering getting the shot soon.
I love to watch your videos. Hi I’m “Gi” Guilherme Anya’s husband. We are looking forward to meet you one day. However, if you could make a video about Haleiwa town (with some info about the recent flood) and affordable places in the north shore would be much appreciated. Could you visit SBJJ?🦍🥋🤙🏼 Thanks for sharing these videos. Always great info.
We never recommend it. We’ve helped 20+ families this year and we never recommend forgoing the inspection except in very specific instances such as investors who are flipping or other unique circumstances
I’m still in the daydream phase of moving to Hawaii so this video is wonderful. I’m dreaming of oceanfront so I’ve been trying to get a feel for the areas in Kaneohe towards Turtle Bay which are cheaper and more country. If you ever get the time to do a similar video of the North Shore areas, esp Waialua and Mokuleia, that would be great. Mahalo...
Hi Gus, mahalo for commenting. Your beachfront dream house in Hawaii IS achievable! Those areas you mention on the North Shore have so much to offer in terms of lifestyle and outdoor activities. And in fact, we have these areas on our list of neighborhood tour videos to shoot. We try to address specific questions submitted by people interested in moving to Oahu, so please let us know what specific questions you have about Waialua, Mokuleia, Haleiwa, Laie etc.

My wife likes basic white girl stuff... target, Starbucks, nice restaurants, shopping, new construction contemporary homes.... which neighborhood should we look at for that?? I'm desperately trying to convince her to move to Hawaii but she loves all the typical mainland stuff. Is there a neighborhood that could convince her hawaii is a good place to live???
@@djpak1 well the thing is, single family homes start at $850k for most of the island. In that case she would likely be looking at the Sea Country neighborhood from our Waianae video and then be close to all of those types of things in Kapolei. Otherwise I would def be recommending Ewa and Kapolei but we may need to get you up just a little in price or see what these higher interest rates do to things.

Well, it’s good to know some peoples allergies go away when they arrive in Hawaii. Wish it was the same for me!
It's probably a reaction to smog more than it is pollen. I have the same problem when I visit metropolitan areas

I really enjoy your videos. I’m thinking of moving to Hawaii to Oahu. I’ve actually apply for a job there. If I do end up getting the job I will certainly connect with you around getting a house. What are the real estate fees on Hawaii?
Free for buyers. Your loan and closing costs, depending if you pay or the lender pays, could be around 1.2% of the purchase price.
And thank you for the positive words.
Its crazy you passed my condo near the top of Kahuhipa
my 16th yr old son has crazy allergies, wondering if our move to hawaii is the right move

Can you do a video on Waikiki? I wanna buy a condo there. I like city living and the walkability factor there. Thank you!!
Gina, we’ve been meaning to do a Waikiki video and your comment is more fuel for the fire 🔥🔥🔥 WE WILL DELIVER 😎
For a growing family, is Kaneohe better than Kailua?
Hard to answer. I think it would just depend on that family and what they want. Maybe Maunawili which is sort of best of both worlds.

Is it common these days for buyers to forgo the inspection because there is usually a bidding war on the house?
