When I said I wanted to cross warthog with jalapeno I meant with the infamous rouge jalapeno when I find one😂 I love these types of videos. Thank you Johnny
I grew some lemon jalapenos a few years ago and the heat variance within that single plant was amazing. You literally never knew what you were going to get! Kept it interesting!
Jalapeños are honestly one of my favorite peppers. They taste amazing, they’re so versatile in the kitchen and some can give you a good wallop. I’ve had some jalapeños, especially pickled for some reason. I pickle a lot of mine, which you think would dilute the heat somewhat but some have a really good burn.
I will always love jalapeños. Cowboy candy, pepper mash ,sausage ,pizza, poppers, there's literally soo much you can do with them. As much as I love super hots, as far as flavor goes, I absolutely love a good pablano or jalapeños or even some of the giant green chillis. 💚
I love this! I haven’t had a pepper in a minute. I was only up to a habanero but I was getting my tolerance up there. I’ll have to start back at the bottom again 😊
Great concept for a video and series! Also a great way to nerd out on peppers. I didnt care one way or the other about hot peppers until watching your channel and talking to other chili heads in the gardening community. When I heard about all the different varieties in flavor, shape, color, I was hooked on eating hotter stuff. Im fine staying below super hots. But I've really enjoyed different flavor profiles and experiencing different burns and stings. I didn't know that was a thing. The hottest I've eaten was a habanero. I can't recall shu of Aji Omnicolor but that little bugger got me good this year! I'm waiting for my first Pineapple Roccotos to ripen. Perhaps I should try them green too... Thanks so much for sharing!
Hey Johnny. What would be cool is if you did these videos with other peppers slowly up the Scoville scale and guide new chili heads as to how to handle the heat as they are going through this, while they are going through this. Working their way up to hotter and hotter peppers. Would be a good series for us to be able to send to newbies that want to become chili heads.
@@ChaseTheHeat Awesome! I already sent this vid to a friend of mine who’s son has been trying hotter things and video taping them for me, after watching my hot challenges over the years! Glad I can be an inspiration for others as you have been for me!
I would love to see a full playlist of this continuing to increasingly hotter peppers, maybe peppers broken down into Tiers of heat. 1k-10kSHU, 10k-50kSHU, 50k-100kSHU, 100k-200kSHU etc, etc.. just an idea I had while watching this. People love structure and something to follow as a road map if you will. Thank you for all that you do Johhny. I've taken a break from the spicy adventuring but am just about ready to jump back in again.
Did you know you can get thunderclap headaches (brain freeze) from eating hot peppers? I like hot stuff..not into super hot stuff, but habeneros are my jam. I ate a habenero the other day and it felt like my head was ripping in half. Looked it up and was indeed a thunderclap. Who would have guessed it.
Thanks Mr Scoville - ill be doings this with my home grown peppers this week. Do you have any insight on cramps & Jalapeños? I can eat hot chillis, curry, hotter peppers etc, stuff hotter than a Jalapeño all day and really enjoy it. But when I eat one of those things I expericence what I can only describe as '4am Gastirc Agony On The Toilet' ! Thank you. Saw you on the Superhot documentary. Really cool set of guys.
Tolerance build up Is real! I started this season growing habaneros, and able to eat half of one at a time, made A ton of hot sauce with my harvest, and now 4-5 months later and I can eat as many habaneros as you put in front of me.
Hey Johnny! I've been getting into hot stuff for the past few weeks. I forced myself to eat habaneros and have been able to somewhat get through them however, I decided to buy some Jalapenos today. I shit you not there was a few in there that hit me harder than the habaneros! Crazy stuff! Make it make sense please... lol
Love this idea!!! Random question since we're talking about jalapeños. Is a chili's heat affected by cooking? I've seen them as an option for pizza toppings but never tried it myself.
Jalapeños are pretty nuts in heat level variations i have had a lot that if I didn’t know would swear it was a bell pepper. Also had a few that I swear I wouldn’t be able to tell a difference from a habanero. But that’s kinda what makes them fun.
Today for the first time in a long time i ate some jalapeño papers, they was good had some heat not bad. I would say out of 10. I want to try some cowboy candy pickle jalapeño, kind of nervous about it, what advice would you give?
ok i'm going to throw this out there, a lot of people might think i'm absolutely crazy. However is there a certain time of year that you just seem to naturally get a higher tolerance even without eating peppers or anything spicy? I'm asking because i do, It's ALWAYS around october every year. It doesn't matter if i've eaten peppers or anything spicy, if my tolerance is low ect. I just NATURALLY get a random tolerance boost out of nowhere. i was just wondering if any one else has this happen to them. It's THE WEIRDEST thing but true story!!
Hi Johnny, recently a friend of mine gave me what he called “Hungarian hot” peppers and told me they weren’t hot lol. Needless to say I got rocked by these things. I’ve been eating Melinda’s ghost pepper sauce in even my breakfast and scorpion or Carolina reaper sauce in my lunch for quite some time now, and I think I could handle a habanero. Is a Hungarian wax pepper really putting it on me or is he mistaken in what he’s calling them?
Does anyone ever experience extreme bloating when you eat hot pods? I moved up from habanero to ghost and I ate a ghost that made me feel like a hot air balloon. I had stomach pain for days.
I don't know how everyone does it Jonny in my prime I could eat super hots then eat a jalapeño and it would burn the same even now even it's gonna burn it's gonna burn me
It's been more than a year since I ate a raw pod. Have gone all the way up to ghost and reapers before. Something about the jalapeño it always gets me. Super stingy and hot right away. I had to spit this bite out. Made my eyes water, and my ears started to feel like I needed to pop them, like, when you have to. Adjust your ears with altitude. No idea why, but jalapeños and Habeneros just always wreck me that way. Super stinging, like a smack in the mouth.
My kids are LOVING this. Our family really appreciates the series!!! Thank you Johnny! 🌶️❤️💯
THANK YOU JOHNNIE!!!! We’ve been waiting for these videos for years. You are a true legend.
I am sipping some tabasco while I watch this.. nice concept! The world needs more chiliheads! ;)

Sounds like a great idea

Love this idea/concept!!! Helping people get into peppers. You’re who explained this years ago in a video and how I built my heat tolerance. Thank you
Great video, amazing concept mate. Hopefully this will catch on and there will be more episodes with other peppers. Can't wait.

Pickled peppers are awesome and yes can be quite hot still. I've found orange spice to be hotter
I like this idea!

I love jalapenos they are good in a lot of foods
I should try this, perhaps I'll be able to eat some jalapeños soon!!!

I bought the fully ripened jalapeños. They seem to taste a bit sweeter than when they’re green. They have a nice, fruity smell to them.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing
Given a choice, I would eat them red as well
Thank you Johnny. Gonna start today. ❤

I’m going after work to get some peppers!! I’m gonna do this with you every time you post one I can’t wait to compare notes with others here.
Well done brother! ❤ I am going to eat a Primo because you made my day better. Glad you’re having a blessed day!
Thank you!!
This is a good way to do it.💜

I’ve been at this for almost 8 years. Over 600k comments here. You’re the first person who’s ever commented that they’ve experienced that. I’m sorry
I still love me some habeneros though 😊
That is next
This is great. I can take some heat, but my stomach can't. 4 days ago I ate soup that had scorpion peppers in it and my stomach is still terrible. lol
Good idea for a series Johnny.
I love jalapenos... stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon.
Thanks Mr Scoville - ill be doings this with my home grown peppers this week.

I do believe cooking can effect heat levels though it still varies.

Have you ever had a black jalapeño that's hotter than a habenero. It's a cross with a Aztec pepper
No, but once I had a Guatamalan Insanity Pepper and saw a demon dog in the sky in the desert
Today for the first time in a long time i ate some jalapeño papers, they was good had some heat not bad. I would say out of 10.

Mom said it was 116 the other day in Sun City…
That’s Hot
@@Docchucklilchuck yikes
I had some jalapeños that was much hotter than habbaneros and I had from the same tree that had no heat at all
Breaking out the new USA chili kings and queens
One thing I don’t like from the jalapeño is they range from bell pepper to Serrano hot. I’ve really fallen partial to the Serrano.

wanna have some fun? take a bowl full of diced Jalapenos and then dump them into a steaming hot pot of water and put your face directly over it...
🫣
Lol,it's a gateway pepper yall,first one is free.😂

Lol. Sorry, I'm a bit late
Any one have a Recommendation on the seed company/name of the hottest jalapeño?!?

I've grown a jalapeno plant that was way hotter than normal, not just a lone pod but every pepper on it. Some genetic aberration I suppose.
To some people, may upset their stomach or colon 😟
Only thing that would have made this better is if you had a complete noob there with you doing this. Amazing concept though.
Check out "David & Goliath in the playlist. You won't be sorry
Should of been a red jalapeno... Not green. Isn't Red ones hotter ?
Not hotter. Just a slightly different taste
