TV comedy has moved on, some of it is fair, but modern comic actors and comedians didn't have the years of experience that the performers in the old classics had.
Thank you for a wonderful series my late dad would have loved to have watched them as much as I have enjoyed them. i grew up with Summer Wine on a Sunday so it holds a special place in my heart.

I’m strongly tempted to make use of UA-cam’s face-saving delete post facility on my previous comment to try and hide my embarrassment but I suppose I had better “man up” and leave it there for all your viewers to see. Anyway: your knowledge of all things LOTSW is truly enormous, and all this additional information is manna to me. I suppose many viewers are apt to find the welter of the series’ continuity errors, its use of body doubles, etc jarring - but, for me at least (and as I have had occasion to mention to a fellow LOTSW fan in the past), they dissolve into irrelevance as the show casts it spell over me.

I don't know if it's been mentioned before but I think it's worth saying that your theme tune (does it have a title?)complements the 'Last of the Summer Wine' theme exceptionally well. "Get Out Of That Then" is curious in terms of its production code. The rest of that series, from "Enter The Finger" to "It's Never Been 10 Years" were numbered consecutively from ENCA181L through to ENCA190J, but "Get Out Of That Then", aired as the last episode, was numbered ENCA193R, which makes it seem more like an extra episode was added to that series' commission at a later stage than the rest. Unless originally they commissioned and signed off on 13 episodes and then dropped two at some stage before broadcast, as I cannot find anything else using the two missing numbers in between.
I would originally have said that it would be unlikely that two scripts were totally ditched - but considering the apparent attitude of the BBC at the time, it seems very possible. I had assumed that "It's Never Ten Years" had been "thrown" together, as a semi-bottle episode, as most of it is old episode clips, I'm surprised it was part of the "scheduled" scripts. does this mean there are two "lost / unmade" episodes?
Hi Leigh today I watched watching the clock episode and yep I did what you mentioned about stunts I saw the back of Clegg stunt up the tree then we see Clegg then see Clegg stunt down from the tree and Alvin stunt to down from the tree very good stunts
What you can't see, is when "real" Clegg, or whoever, is up a tree you usually don't see them full length, so you can't see the scaffolding tower directly under them, that they are probably standing on, and where the camera is situated!
It is a real studio audience, although they are watching the location and studio filming on a screen. Sometimes, I'm sure, they boost the laughter with something from another recording!
There were certainly several recordings of the theme tune, possibly one for each episode - as the theme usually transitioned into the incidental music - however this could have been done as an edit in the music track to add the incidental part. I didn't go as far as comparing the theme tune over time - I don't have a very musical ear, and I don't know anything about musical notation. However, undoubtedly new recordings would be made periodically, as technology changed and the way the show was edited developed, this could also have been an opportunity for a variation of the arrangement. One specific episode that is notable for being different is series 27 “Has Anyone Seen Barry’s Midlife Crisis?” - the theme does not feature a harmonica, and has noticeably more strings. Peter, however, is a musician - but I don't think I can persuade him to listen to every episode to compare the theme!

I think Ivy was only in 4 of series 29's 11 episodes - however I would exclude "It's Never Ten Years", as that was Clegg, Truly and Alvin reminiscing over Compo (in flashback style) the only other regular being Nora. Nelly was only in 5 episodes, mainly the same ones as Ivy. Also, *most* of the time Ivy was missing we did not see Barry, Glenda and Miss Davenport as the stories focussed more on Alvin and Entwistle. Also the shots are not filmed in sequence, so if Ivy was only in part of the season, her appearances may well have been filmed in a few days, especially as she spends a lot of her time in the studio café set.

The "pub garden" is the rear terrace of a house near St Johns Church, Upperthong Lane. The road in the distance is Cemetery Road, Blamire's house is just behind Alvin's head when he is sitting down in the final credits scene, and just off-screen to the right is Holy Trinity Church Burial Ground, where Clegg's wife was buried.
