It wasn’t perfect, but this IMO was the best road course race of the next gen era. Solid racing good strategy chaos and an incredible finish. 7.5-8/10. This season is just incredible. So many good races and amazing finishes.
Screw it, let's make a rule where it's *MANDATORY* to finish the race in overtime. 😂

As a Ross Chastain fan, this year has been painful. He finally had a dominant car and he was gapping svg at one point. Then his own teammate just spun out and screwed it all up. I like Ross and SVG so I was really happy today. I wanted a melon smash so bad today though. He dominated the first half of the race. 💔
I can definitively say this is the best Road Course Race of the Next-Gen Era (all bias aside) which dethroned the (imo) previous best RC Race, COTA 2022
And that's now a Non-Playoff Upset Winner in only the 2nd Playoff Race. If there are 5 of those this year then that might be a signal to NASCAR that it's time to do away with this format

Maybe with the dvp they should get one attempt to return from the garage and make minimum speed. Let's be real tho, the dvp is more to prevent a kenseth logano then to keep the track safe

With all the chaos, it was more like we were at a short track and not a road course. What an insane race! Man did I want SVG to win, but 2nd is still good!
That finish was absolute cinema! Buy I still hate overtime, it’s getting ridiculous now

i think they should only get 1 or 2 max attempts if the drivers are gonna be idiots they shouldnt be rewarded for wrecking their way to a better finish
I had my doubts about this race but my hopes were lifted after that banger of a F1 race Sunday morning (which I rated a 80/100 - only because of the way it ended). Watkins Glen was the best road course race in this current era with a crazy finish to boot. Not sure the playoff drivers liked how the day went with the top 5 being non playoff drivers.
I'm giving this race a rating of 85/100. This was fun to watch. My team, or should I say organization, of the day was Spire Motorsports. They showed out and deserve their props.

All I can say this here Jett is that looking at the way Denny Hamster has been the last 2 weeks in the first round there is no question in my mind that he will be eliminated after Bristol this Saturday night

I had a lot of fun with this race! But that Overtime shit is getting really old really fast + the excessive aggression with less than 10 to go frustrated me too but it’s a Road Course with the Gen 7 so that shouldn’t be surprising!
I understand why people didn’t like it and thought it was a bad race but it was pretty good to me! But the Blaney situation was BS and while I understand from a safety standpoint why the DVP rule exists, I hate that rule too so yes I agree. Get rid of that shit. Well said as always Jett!

Denny is depressed with the charter system plus the engine penalty he got.
I'll admit the finish was good but I'm getting fed up with OT. I'd much rather have a race end naturally EVEN under YELLOW. 7 out of last 8 races with an OT finish. All OT does most of the time is cause a bunch of wrecks leading to same winner as a result, or the most deserving winner gets taken out in dumb fashion.
Imo they should just make the race 9 laps total, 3 lap segments, stop wasting our time
