I sent those led lights for your wife's jeep hope that stuff will help you out it was some stuff I got for a vehicle I no longer have so I sent them to you injoy love your show
Would love to see the jeep project finished instead of always Paul's toys..
@@richardcosta8338 Would love to see ANYTHING finished. This is getting old.
@@tavolo22 Any guy that likes to fab and wrench KNOWS. Nothing is ever finished.
My wife knits, currently she has about a dozen unfinished projects. Me I’m not admitting to anything, but as long as you got something to work on life is good 😊
@@vannadel7 Yeah, but that yard is littered with unfinished projects. Some, probably from when Randall was running the camera.
Don't worry about the shop noises. It's keeping you all cool. Great seeing Shawn back again.
You can see Paul looks for approval from his kids just as much as they seek it from them, as it should be. Nice to see.
It’s good to see Sean! I know he is leaving but it would sure be nice to see him help out every once in a while!
I'll tell you what, I will send you some of our cold air and you can send us your hot air. It's only +58°f outside here in North Pole, Alaska, and it's not getting warmer until Sunday. Maybe +74°f 😊 Also our forest fires are out now after raining for 2 weeks.
Paul. You're always apologizing for shop noises. Stop apologizing for sounds that help you get these videos out. You work in a garage. Im just happy that you can still work in your shop during the extreme heat.
Paul's kid's are so much like him, burning the mid nite hours on coolness!!! Louder than loud!!! This is getting good guys!!! 💪💪💪 God bless the ya all!!!
Paul the look your boys give you.. they look up to a great father killing it man. Respect one father to another. Keep it up can't wait to see the out come of derby
Michelle, I think Paul is lucky to have you give him a haircut
She didnt cut his ears off
@@CORNDODGER, Michelle is a Pro, she lowers men's ears, she doesn't cut them off.
Watching from Trona California ( outside of death valley national Park) so my outside temp is running 117/ 125 and fires California is on fire the smoke is so bad I have to stay in side because of c.l.p.d with the a/c my garage has a swap cooler. Your a lucky man having a wife that cuts hair when I told I couldn't return back to work because of my beating issues first thing out my mouth no more hair cuts now it down to my tail bone. Love your videos and how you include. Family and enjoy seeing your area. I'm not a bowl tie person but still enjoy learning and watching at 70 years old and still wrenching. Keep it up. Happy trails.
I worked at the Argus Plant for a few months about 2010. Met some great people.
My Dad had one for a long time and was always going to fix it up ..but raising four kids .he never had the money to do it..he passed a long time ago .but he would have loved this video
Really like it when Sean works with you
The elder citizens are shakin' heads and rollin' eyes - "its them Cox boys again...." 😅
The smile on Jace's face is priceless, that's when you know you got it right!
Catching up with your videos. Been sitting on a mountain enjoying cooler weather. Shout out to the firefighters for all they do. Fire fighting, haircut and some hot rod fabricating. Variety...what. else could you want???
It's good to see Shawn back on the channel.
This was probably filmed before he left.
He hasn’t left yet
Just FYI: Most channels on UA-cam have a backlog of videos of 2 to 4 weeks. Rarely are they just a day or 2 days old because the editor(s) are crazy busy - and have to adhere to a regular upload schedule. That is just the life of a UA-cam creator. 🤘
The boys will have very very fond memories of working with their dad you’re lucky boys very lucky to have such good parents work together play together and
being safe
Mr. Paul you are amazing what a great dad💯✊🇺🇸
Don't forget the cage, not caging my street truck twisted cab up and made doors open on launch, embarrassing as well as unsafe! Was pretty funny tho, lol
Paul, I get my haircut the same way that you do. My hair cutter has been doing mine for over 50 years. Unfortunately I can’t say it’s saved me any money but I get it cut like she wants it.
Missed you Shawn, glad to see you back.
It was great meeting you and Shawn, and Michelle's mom. You guys are truly a special kind of people.
@@johnivey4813 they are awesome and kind people, how are you doing John?
Great to see Paul and Shawn working together. I’m praying that they stick together
I think the audio and video are pretty solid, Fab-people! Content is great, too! I enjoy seeing your kids doing a great job too. Take it easy on them in the derby, Paul.
The only parts that won’t let you down on your Willies build will be the FORD parts you know it💪💪💪 built tough 💪💪💪
That dang Hunter is a heck of a driver! Really going to miss him..
I dunno if this video takes place before Shawn plans to leave or if he changed his mind and is gonna stick around! It's good to see Shawn and we miss Hunter! Hope he is doing well!
Please stay!!
The cooler noise is not that bad. Can hear all of you fine. Stay cool 😎
Wow, I never realized how much Hunter brought to Fab Rats. Good Luck fellas.
fun fact the DC-10 air tanker you showed holds 12,000 gallons in the drop tank which the rate of drop can also be controlled as well
The boys derby cars are looking great 👍,can't wait to see them compete and have a lot of fun ,be safe🙏
Paul, you don't need to worry about the cooler noise if you guys need to run it due to heat in the shop...it was not very loud in this video actually and most of us understand some shop noise going on off camera, it's just part of shop and car work life. ;)
I know things are always changing but Sean and Hunter brought some good energy. They will be missed
Sean made the the team. I was a wild land firefighter in the PNW and on occasion went down south and hated the fast moving brush fires! Good air shows though!
You can leave it as a Rat Rod and still drag race it. LED lights can replace the old turn signals and headlights. I think 411 gears would be good for street and drag
Trucks got a lot of personality!
One of the best channels on UA-cam if you are into vehicles ❤
The Ford 9" rear end is a thing of beauty!
Paul your onw lucky guy having boy's that enjoy the things you do!
I know that I cannot be the only one who feels a little sad that not only has Shawn and Hunter left, they didn't even say goodbye! It felt the same way when Ben left. I know I can't be the only one...
Of all the Utah UA-camrs Lizzy is the only one that said goodbye.
Hunter said goodbye when they announced he was leaving!
I feel about it! But kids who were raised right will not say goodbye!!! They know where they are loved and always keep home in their heart!!!!
PAUL AND MICHELLE CANT BE THAT DIFFICULT TO WORK FOR!!!!!
Also , Hunter got to run the "42"...it is one of PAUL'S favorite PROJECTS....and WIN IN IT.....! BEN GOT HIS JEEP REPLACED! SHAWN HAS A DEMON DODGE PROJECT AND THRIVING FARM TRUCK/ DAILY DRIVER!
Ah but Ben isn't missed
Always great content, one of my fav channels, michell and Paul. You guys look great and much healthier. Keep up the hard work, guys. Good wholesome family entertainment. I've been a fan since the beginning.
Paul has that little kid smirk whenever he does burnouts... Gotta work one that poker face.
"It'll be fine." "It's not terrible." "It's good enough for now." It's a roll of the dice...
None of those phrases should be allowed when working on daily drivers, tow vehicles, or boats. Paul isn't working on any of that here
He's a hack. Can't do anything right.
@@kerryclark1926so leave. Don’t stink up the air we have to breathe.
He’s far from a hack. He makes some of the most complete builds on UA-cam.
He’s far from a hack. If you don’t like the content, go watch something else. Whistlin Diesel had lots of videos…
The 42 is looking great, need some drag slicks to help you launch. You can air them down to a desired settings to help you hook up with there harder compound set up
Looking good. Watching you guys all the way from South Africa.
Lekker
Another awesome video, I would enjoy to see more of the Firebird !!! It’s always great to see Michelle in the videos.
Oh Paul that 42 is Badass man ,wow would love to have that pick up. You are a very lucky man. Thanks for the video guy's can't wait for the next one.
For the 46' pickup I had I converted the light socket interiors to a double contact and had turn and marker in the OE fender lights.
Hey, Georgia boy here. I have two of my wildland firefighter employees in Utah assisting with those fires. I told em to stop by if they're in your area. Stay cool.
The Rat Rod Drag Truck by Fab Rats. Kinda has a ring to it.
... the drag rat
Turn your fuel cell around. Slum to the rear. This way launch forces fuel to the pick up instead of way. Keep up the good work you all do.
Mexico is looking beautiful this year...
BAD ASS LOOKIN TRUCK HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m a retired Norwegian and have been following your channel for quite/ some time. I just love to watch your work. Keep up the great content 👏👏
Those tankers are so cool. I worked only a couple hundred yards from the Forest service refill station in Moses Lake Wa. They flew all summer, along with many other types of retardant planes. Sorry everything is burning. All the western states are on fire..
Get you a set of CalTrac traction bars. Best thing ever for a leaf spring setup.
Let’s go Jase!!! Good to see Sean back.
I'm up here in Spokane..
We may get into the 9ps for several weeks but then drop down into the 80s. Towards August/Sept, we'll get several days of the 100s.
Not this year..
We went from the 70s.. a couple of weeks of 80s into the hi 90s, and for the last month, we've been bouncing from mid 90s to 107.
Central part of Washington State is notorious for fires. Currently Lake Chelan is ablaze.
The shop guys that make/made a living cant hear the portacool over our own portacools, i give yall props for trying to not run it during videos but if you have spent much time in anyshop you dont hear it. The biggest thing we notices is the different whins it makes when the senior tech turns his to high and the rest are on low lol.
Can't believe how much Jas sounds like hunter :)
Maybe just maybe
Drag mater
So jealous love that year truck
Have fun rippin 🎉
hey Paul, Robby Layton has this killer trail called hanging tree, we think you need to test the rat rod wrecker on it to see if it can make the trail from start to finish. for that matter you just may want to take the old FJ along as a recovery vehicle perhaps you, matt, and Rorry can all get together and do the hanging tree. the gauntlet has been thrown down, a challenge has been issued and just about double dog dared for matt to bring the banana to the trail and make it with zero winching
Smokey burnouts, ohhh my! Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
There was a change in this video format, I definitely like it!
20:51,, That truck is so cool. What a hoot!
Hey, easy on the burnouts. The smoke got so thick I couldn't see my monitor.
Truck is lookin Sweet , Paul. Great to see Sean. Your kids are gettin their Derby car ready!🤙😎
It’s amazing how quick you get through customs
Amazing GPG (Grins Per Gallon) on that little truck. It'll be fun to run it.
Yours is My very favorite Chevy body style followed by the 1958ish quad headlight Apache.
Maybe get some wide stickies for the rear when playing around. note: the Odd-Fire V6 in the
commando is a stout small motor when built properly w/ enough carb.
"More better" is not a word.... correct, it's TWO words.😂
Great shots from Mexico, BTW... 😉
With the advent of a new engine you'll need a high stall (Hughes) coverter for the trans and a turbo 400 that can take abuse. That gear set will be fine for 1/8 th mile but not really road worthy or 1/4 mile friendly. But for smoking tires she's the hot ticket. You may want to invest in some Caltracks to get it to hook better as well.
23:12 Granma lolly questioning herself , where did i go wrong with this lot ??? ;-)
Noise is part of owning a shop! Love this channel ❤️ 😊
I enjoy all your family friendly content!
But I love a good hair cut😃
Wow! That's a haircut Gunny Highway would be proud of.
Thanks Guys
And that is how the term hot rod came about ..😂
I am still running a old TCS metal cage ax 10. Mine was a rtr version. Nothing left of the original truck.
You push the brakes then hold the button, thats how the line lock works. If you hold the button then push the brakes, your front brakes wouldn't get any pressure to activate.
Gee Ward, you seemed like you were a little hard on The Beaver in this episode.
I would suggest you put the line lock on the back brakes so that when switched on it will lock out the back brakes and allow you to control your burnout using the front brakes. It will allow you to creep forward when you need to.
Thank you Paul and sons for the update on the deby cars and the '42 truck !
The line lock is good to heat up slicks and performing a smoke show. Not that effective for drag racing on street tires. To be effective you need Mickey Thomson ET Streets. they will bite, the street tires will slip lots. heating them up will not help, looks good but that is it. Paul mentioned a trans brake in another video. did you do that? It works great for racing. You will need an MSD with a rev limiter the size of limiter depends on what you want to launch at. It also stops you from blowing the engine if you have the correct limiter in. I race an '84 S15 with a 383 stroker in it, licensed for 7.5 seconds in the !.4 mile by NHRA
I think in the last scene, the large air tanker is an old DC-10. They're big, big aircraft.
Awesome building cool rides and getting to spend time with your family while doing it. Everyone should strive to be able to that!!
That Big plane is the Arizona State Bird!
Gidday Paul. I'm also a Paul but from Australia. Been following your channel for a few years now,
Love your content. Your obviously very knowledgeable within your automotive trade and I've learnt a lot from your builds. Love your let it rip kind of attitude and your family value,
Your channel has helped me stay strong though a tuff time in my life recently and helped me focus on the positives and the things that really matter like V8s and fast cars. And of course family,
Thank you Fab Rats and crew. I look forward to you program every week,
@fabrats At 4:15 i can totally AGREE 💯 with you, paul. I also bought the same tire BRAND NEW and in one year i got cracks all over the tread and around on the rim of the tires. Saldly cooper doesnt stand behind there word on quality so now i went back to BF Goodrich Radial TAs. Like they say, you pay for what you get.
If you really want the paint to stick to aluminum like the Trans housings, scuff them and spray Zinc Primer first before that lime green paint. You can get some from Napa auto parts. Just trying to help.
Zinc primer is the only thing that sticks to aluminum.
Nice haircut Paul. Nicely done Michelle.
I’m in south Florida. And I’ve been doing irrigation for 28 years down here. Trust me it’s hot
if you use the line lock to work on the rear you can lock off the brakes in the rear and modulate the brakes on the front to allow you to move while doing burnouts. Just a thought.
Hate it when I miss a video. Hey cool burn outs and faster always win.
A line-lock needs to be on a button, not a switch so you can use it at the starting line since you don't have a trans brake. And buy some drag radials or slicks. Kirky racing seats might work better for you.
Thanks Michelle! Awesome job!!!
always fun to watch enjoy seeing what going on this week
The higher gear ratio gives you more torque, not more power. Better acceleration, lower gas mileage, lower top speed, and better burnouts. I would also raise the front end and lower the rear for better weight transfer onto the rear tires. This gives you better traction in the rear for better off-the-line acceleration. I would also consider adding weight over the rear wheels. Put the battery and the gas tank there. If you want to go to extremes, move the engine and transmiission as far back as you can.😝
Well Paul you couls SHAVE it! Easiest and Best thing I ever did. I havent picked up a comb in over 25 years
and besides if You dont like it it will grow back !
I shave it to about 1/2" every couple months. 61 years old and still have good hair (thanks Gramp). Wife used to shave it for me and passed away in 2021. One of everything I miss about her. Part of my staying busy is guys like FabRats videos in the morning. Between grandkids, videos, my dog and the shop I live on. Maybe even one day I will road trip my 442 clone to Utah and see them.
Sinclair oil products, we have not seen those in the central United States, Oklahoma, Kansas since the late 1960's. Same with Standard Oil Products, Skelly Oil Products, Texaco Oil Products, Kerr Mc Gee Oil Products, Gulf Oil Products, Cities Service Oil Company,.. So it unusual to see Sinclair products in your video's, nice to see.
Love that truck can’t wait to see it finished
Get you some 34 inch tires for the rear at least or all around, 42s would make that truck launch, I had 3.91 ring and pinion in my car 27 tires were perfect I wanted 4.56 but the gears other than what I had were out of production. Back when it was new I could have gotten 4.60s oldsmobile, the rear end was heavy like a ford 9 inch it was the station wagon rear 1/2 ton , only car rear end I needed help to carry other than a 9 inch. yeah those 4.56s are cool go drag racing slap on some nitto 29 inch slicks ,go on a trip and put on 34 inch narrow profile tires, and 4 42s for rock crawling, low gears really make your vehicle universal
