@@castlevaniamusicforever sorry for my english The simon's theme of castlevania blood line that u get on the video is with hall effect like theatre effect not original sound
Now I understand what you say. It seems that it's a problem affecting all the tracks I've downloaded for Bloodlines, so for these old videos I can't do nothing for it, but I'll change files for the next time I'll use Bloodlines songs. Thank you!
@@castlevaniamusicforever It sounded that way because it's from the Dracula X+Bloodlines combo OST and not from direct game capture. Not your fault, really.
Haunted Castle does have a bloody tears version (fun fact: the song was supposed to appear first in that game, but for some reasons I can't remember they decided to use it in Castlevania 2 too), but there's no Simon Theme there.
There's something that strikes me in the themes of Simon Belmont and Richter Belmont (Opposing bloodlines). These compositions encapsule the spirit of the family like no other. Simon's theme has a bit of "Spooky" tunes, but overall embodies the spirit of a person with a power and courage to face all sorts of nightmarish creatures and an unwavering sense of duty. If he can't defeat Dracula, nobody can. Opposing Bloodlines, on the other hand, pictures the image of a true blue blood of the vampire hunters, a perfect breed blessed with hundreds of years of experience passed on by ancestors. Richter doesn't have a single doubt that he will overcome every obstacle, rescue his loved one and complete his family mission. Alas, he doesn't know yet that this arrogance is his biggest weakness.
The man who struck fear into Dracula, the unstoppable barbarian who saved his family's lineage, the Belmont who would cut a path for his predecessors and ancestors. The Legendary The Mighty The One and Only *SIMON BELMONT*
I think the Roland SC-55, Sega Genesis, and Arcade are my favorite versions. As a Doom fan, the good ol' SC-55 _sings_ to me, the Genesis version is a very clean rendition of the track, and the Arcade version just flatly kicks ass.
The intro of the SNES version is much better than the intro later versions of the song had. It has this simple, ominous power to it, evoking something more wicked that's then countered by the dramatic buildup afterwards. It's a perfect start to the song, and to Super Castlevania IV in general. The other main intro is cool in a different way, but doesn't carry that same feeling.
I never thought I'd like the idea of Simon's Theme being played in one of Richter's games, but the OST exclusive makes me think it could've worked REALLY well, especially if you think of how many other previous themes are in Rondo of Blood.
I always wished they'd used it for the final level/staircase theme instead of lazily rehashing Poison Mind ngl, it was probably such a lackluster choice that Symphony took it upon itself to spruce up that exciting moment with the new Prologue track 😂
I should make clear what changed between the old and the new video: -The version from the 68K (original) has a proper loop and ends right; -Two songs added: the remix from the OST of Dracula X and from the arranged OST of Portrait of Ruin (thanks to those who told me about these). That's all for this video, but here I'll also give some info about future plans: I'll obviously continue to post compilations video (next one on Friday 3rd), but I'm also planning to revisit the Vampire Killer and Bloody Tears video (the 2 oldest that need some correction and also some new songs that I've found in these months) and, after the compilation "season" of my channel, I'll start uploading individual songs from each game (the OST from a pretty obscure one could be uploaded even on January, who knows), all done with my style (not just boring images of games logo or such). I thank all of you for watching my videos and making my channel grow each day of its life. See you next week and have a great 2020!
I've listened to other Patricio's remixes, but never to that. While the song is really good and catches the feel of CV64, the "children rescued" part isn't 100% the same.
Richter may be my favorite Belmont, but Simon really does have the best theme. All of the other Belmont's themes got this badass vampire hunter vibe, but this theme? It's got an extra layer of divine providence thrown in: God has ordained that Dracula's gonna die tonight. P.S. If the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London does an orchestral cover of the Castlevania Chronicles version of Simon's theme, I will die a very happy man.
@@marcuscoker796 it’s hard to define which one is best in gameplay because Castlevania games were released on very different platforms, but storywise Richter is clearly the most miserable of Belmonts
I'll never forget a comment for the Akumajo Dracula X (OST exclussive) 14:52 the Van Damme version, lol. My favorite is the arranged ost from PoR. When the original started to play my brother and I were like "YESSS" and then a very strong contrast and a powerful arranged version. It reminds me a lot to the PSX2 casltevania's soundtrack. Thanks for sharing these videos. I belive I started to follow your twitter account just a few days algo, hehe. I hope you are fine, my friend.

That Akumajo Dracula X OST version was bangin', but as good as that and Castlevania: The Arcade were, nothing will ever top the SNES version in my book.
The Bloodlines version is mine as well. Although it may not be the best objectively in terms of composition, it has a totally different feel than all the others. All the other versions are somewhat upbeat and kind of pump you up. The Bloodlines version is very dark and foreboding, fitting where it is placed in the game, and the atmosphere of the stage.
I think the echo in this version makes it all the more heart-wrenching. You ARE walking down the halls of a huge castle, after all, ready for the final battle.
The NDS Arranged at the 27:24 point is from Super Castlevania from the SNES. It’s the song and version that made me love that game so much. Made me feel like a super hero 🥷🏾
Of all the versions which re-worked the original one from Super Castlevania IV, the "Arcade" version feels more modern, yet still retains Simon Belmont's vibes the most... I wouldn't be surprised if this song was included in a fan remake of Super Castlevania IV (which I still consider a remake of the very first Castlevania/Akumajou Dracula)
I'm glad some of the newer ones kept the original opening. It doesn't feel complete without it. It goes well when he's seen praying before he goes to face Dracula. Before the music fully kicks in, the gates swing open, and a trail of Holy Ruin lays waste to those of the Damned
Thanx for putting this together. I've been trying to find a remix of Belmont's theme that I heard some time ago but I can't for the life of me remember where I heard it. I figured it was from one of the many games but...sigh...looks like I might have dig around more.
Simon's Theme in Castlevania Chronicles has to be my favourite of all! The opening of it too, truly majestic and ecstatic. I really can't wait for Castlevania Nocturne :D
The SNES version is perfect, it's my favorite of the bunch. The SharpX68000 bassline for the version at 3:10 is pretty cool, though. The only ones I don't care for are the ones that go over the top -
"Well, ya see-SEE-see, see-see-SEE, see-see-SEE-see-see-see-see, Bobby, sometimes things that are jokes SEEM a little mean, but they're actually funny." "Oh, I see -" "NO."
You can tell someone's a snob when they hold up Vampire Killer as Simon's theme over any of these. My favorite contrast is going from the X68000 renditions straight to the Chronicles remake. Between this and Tower of Dolls, the sense of _power_ from the instrumentation and composition leave quite an impact. The Arcade is still my personal favorite of them all though. Konami _needs_ to get off their asses and port that to a modern home console so you don't have to hunt down the goddamn cabinet at an actual arcade to experience that game...
@Jasper Ted Vidal Tale That lame because it much RTS for me. Arcade was originally 2009. So fitting in Wii motion mode. Just Dance 2020 even got recent releases.

same reason why Bloodlines (and Portrait, kinda) had one I like to imagine that it plays whenever Simon's presence invisibly descends from the heavens to offer strength and support to the holder of the VK whip as they ascend the final staircase like he once did in CV1 Sharp, because it only plays there in the games where a _non-belmont_ is the protagonist (John and Johnathan Morris, Eric Lecarde, and CV Arcade's unnamed Vampire Hunter) In other words, it's like his heroic voice is reminding the player, "you need not fear the night atop these steps any longer, young one, for my power and legacy are in your hands"

OG >>>>
Something is wrong with Bloodlines version, it has bad quality.
Yeah, in first videos I had bad rips of Bloodlines' and Judgment's OSTs :(
So... hear me out.
Castlevania Advance is, as far as I can tell, based on the Netflix animated series. Then why in the world is there a Simon theme?! HE ISN'T EVEN TREVOR'S DAD!
Edit: i neant arcade srry💀💀
same reason why Bloodlines (and Portrait, kinda) had one
I like to imagine that it plays whenever Simon's presence invisibly descends from the heavens to offer strength and support to the holder of the VK whip as they ascend the final staircase like he once did in CV1 Sharp, because it only plays there in the games where a _non-belmont_ is the protagonist (John and Johnathan Morris, Eric Lecarde, and CV Arcade's unnamed Vampire Hunter)
In other words, it's like his heroic voice is reminding the player, "you need not fear the night atop these steps any longer, young one, for my power and legacy are in your hands"
