golden comment
I dont get why people are bashing this guy - he seems to be trained in his forms. Motions seems fluid. Am I missing something?
These are 'his' forms, not actual forms. He doesn't understand, nor capture, the nature of this weapon, aside from the most superficial aspects.
And the last move in the form has him stab himself in the temple with the metaphorical sword his off hand fingers are making, which is hilarious.
Because those forms are Shaolin-Do, an indonesian system of Kuntao created by Sin Kwang The. It is not "kung fu." It is a poor imitation. Sin actually has this exact form posted online. His looks equally as bad.
ted rebel, egos. This is how he chooses to train. I respect his sharing and effort. I developed my own style and won't judge anothers. The most important thing, is what you're doing effective in reality or is your training for exhibition?
dog shits then student immediately does push-ups on the dogs Proving Grounds
lmao
HAHAHHAHA
EWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!
Awesome Job Nate
Watching videos like this is becoming a new hobby of mine lol
I've always been hypercritical of this guy but after seeing this sword form. I can tell he has a wonderful understanding of the form very fluid and understands the critical points of the form to master as well. Understanding what is hard for a student to master and training for it is amazing this is what really makes the difference to me. I can see where I am sloppy and how I might need to practice. very few show their usually confidential training tips like this.
Great Job Jake!!!!!
His videos seem very informative. I find it hard to believe that someone would not be able to take anything from his videos, apply them to his or herself and reap some type of benefit. I don't know Jake, but he's humble and willing to share his knowledge with the masses, while those of you who disparage him have put up nothing in the way of evidence to back your own claims. That's some Hatorade of epic proportions.
The problem with his humbleness and willingness to share his knowledge, is that he doesn't know Kung Fu, but he calls himself a Master in it as he teaches 'stuff'. He is neither humble nor knowledgeable.
If you watch closely enough to various videos of his, there's a lot of evidence in them. He often forgets about his unused hand, and gibbles it by his belly, while the other hand does a 'technique'. The only stance he cares about holding low and proper is horse stance. He adds big kicks to everything, because big kicks look cool. All of his different styles are only different in the most superficial ways, while he approaches all of them with the same force-on-force mindset (even tai chi!?) The list could go on...
Try using those sword moves against a decent fencer or in a HEMA club. If you are lucky you will only go home with bruises. How's that for evidence?
I'm actually I have a sword at home and I really been wanting to learn how to do sword training
Very impressive, I'd like a sword like that. Looks like Xianghua's style of fighting on the Soul Cailbur games. Very careful and beautiful movements, nice job with this.
Always loved her fighting style...my favorite SC character
Good job Nate and student. Awesome stuff.
awesome job nate
amazing .great video .
Puppies! I like puppies! You guys look very good! it must have been nice to film this in the rain.
Good job, Nathan.

In what sense do you class yourself a straight sword master? Surely instructor would be a more appropriate wording?
+John Doe Finally someone who is willing to speak against Mr Mace, I laugh so hard when i see some people calling him a martial arts legend... Leg end more like lol.
fraudster is the EXACT wording to describe fake mace
Mace u r awesome teacher ....
Lucky to have u mace 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Real star of the video -- gotta love the dog.
I enjoy the video I am trying to learn the form that way I can show my students the techniques that they can learn

Good job
nice work guys! awesome moves ^.^ ! jake ur classes inspire me thanks .
Some brutal conditioning here. Getting muscles to listen to what you tell them and only that is the hardest part for me; I'm a beginner in Taijiquan and just got myself a training jian.
It’s the dog relieving him self for me
great video
The dog took a poop in the video Lmao
Today I posted on my channel a video about the history of Chinese Sword (Jian) and its techniques and applications, and my friend Diego presents the Japanese Katana and its techniques! Maybe you will enjoy watching !!! Thankful!!!
2:41 - the most epic moment
Perfect form hahah
I wanna learn.. it seems xooooo cool Man😂😁😁😀
Really good job Nate! Thanks to your efforts, your determination, a strong will and to a... great teacher. :)
Nice stances and workout too
+Shawn smith What 流(りゅう)Ryu or style of 武道(ぶどう)Budo or martial arts do you train in?
+1banryukyu Soryu karate, Kung fu, Jiujitsu not BJJ, kickboxing, boxing, judo,Aikijujitsu, combative concepts.
Mr. Smith
Thank you for the reply. I am not very knowledgeable on そりゅ空手 or Soryu Karate. Is this the Karate that was founded in Texas or the one from 内地(ないち)Naichi or mainland Japan? Because I do not know so much about this style of Karate I am not for sure how to write it in Japanese. Is the art that you train in a synthesis of Soryu Karate;功夫 or Kung fu (some form Chinese Wu shu?);柔術(じゅうじゅつ)Jujutsu if it Japanese;柔道(じゅうどう) Judo and 合気柔術(あいきじゅうじゅつ) Aikijujutsu if it is Japanese with the boxing and kickboxing too? My focus of study is Japanese/Okinawan Martial Arts. What info can you share with us on the 日本の武道 or Japanese Martial Arts part of your training? Thank you. Osu
I personally prefer the reverse-grip myself. :) I had a bamboo staff, where it went, I don't know....

Kung Fu & Tai Chi Center w/ Jake Mace You move too quick... The traditional art requires you to be precise... And btw, the most 'advance' Chinese weapon you mentioned is in fact not the sword, it is a weapon called 方天畫丈(check it out). Although the sword has the most 'ways', the weapon I said is one of the strongest and advanced weapon in history, it can do everything a sword can do but it is really hard to master as it is a 'heavy weapon'. The ones who were able to weld it are usually high rank officers and famous 'warriors'. The reason why this weapon is the most 'advance' Chinese weapon, if the person using it had really master it( which is nearly impossible, same as mastering the sword) the damage and techniqe required is much more than the sword...
However if u meant 'advance' by as a way to medicate.. sry that I mistook Ur meaning
Kung Fu & Tai Chi Center w/ Jake Mace And also, the spear is the king of the Chinese weapons, the sword is the君工(gentleman) of them. The reason is you can chose not to harm the opponent but still threaten his life, giving him a opportunity to live and not fight dirty, it also helps you build a better personality (such as patience)
Congratulations. You managed to take the cake for the most laughable comment chain here and thats really saying something.
The sword is the master of all weapons; he isn't wrong about that. The sword masters wrote entire volumes on why this was the case - and they were undefeated in duels and combat. Please study, rather than making yourself look so stupid.
This is hilarious! 😂
Sorry to keep bugging you Jake! But how bout those Spin 5 results tho?
Sword on ground and touching the blade having the blade out in the rain. What happened to respect for the weapon? Im shocked!!!
you must be one of those guys who buys weapons just to hang them on your wall as a decorative piece
If the guy started pissing on his own arm, Jake might be confused, but it's basically what he's teaching anyways.
There's no need to be perfect, but one needs to at least try to take care of their weapon. Doing pushups over top of a sword, touching your nose to the blade... any legitimate kung fu master would have a fit seeing a student do that!
Heimdal001 in a time where they would actually use these weapons they would be abused hitting bone, blades and the environment. A little bit of rain shouldn't do anything as long as you care for it after use.
If your ancestors refused to fight in the rain, then I’m amazed you’re even here.
That’s not Kung fu
Great job Jake! You are really good at this :D please reply!
Great form Jake and Nathan, I train the same way within my art! It is important to have a well rounded system of training. I feel that today especially in TaiChi people focus too much on softness and do not apply enough conditioning!
+Natasha Anderson-Hunt Yes! :)
easy to go for speed and video game like effects, forgetting this is a martial art.
2:40 dog also does horse stance for 10 seconds
Great video! Strict adherence to form is important even when fatigued. Also, a proper push-up is down with the practitioner looking slightly forward with the chin in line with the navel, as if a straight line is being drawn from chin to navel and activating the core. Or, creating the straight line, opening a path, for chi to flow from the dan tien.
I never thought I'd come here, but because I am from kashmir and after article has been revoked here, numerous gangs have invaded kashmir and are busy in robbery, kidnapping and killing kashmiri people, so I want to learn it for self-defense, even though I know nothing about Marchalarts etc....
hitomi enjoyin' thanz, klamath falls,or after just riding my bike from here to 39 miles before weed calif altogether around 75 miles i went the long way. enjoy the great learning videos i need to learn more and want to learn my dragon sword this is a great start now need to get this of of this pc to my living room pc in record room to record need more room thanz was just told there is video's on youtube after my ride from a marine that neck move is intense that would hurt like heck reminds me of fort hood taking a punch in the arm and taking a drink of beer man that hurt like crazy but still continued at 17 to 18 am 60 now dragon sword long flowing mustach i have like the dragon is ayt least 8 inches i think the beard is the main but it all connects have had alot of compliments and it might look cool when i ride for all ii know when the wind hits it back to your video that sword needs learnin' and a bigger room than this to learn it in these 6,000 78's can be a pain sometimes or who knows how many i got and still 25 office box's on the floor not out ion shelfs yet hope this oak floor holds up. my sword has a single edge curve
Seriously? damn ... people do realized he is fake right? how do you not know after seeing his form???
wow Jake Mace use Sword LoL
Jake love your videos! Please do a video with bo staff strikes/ blocks? it would be so helpful thanks
Hahahahaha....that's REAL good training
Good
I would fence you with Jian trainers and gear. A nice friendly match. Coincidentally, that looks like a tassle form for flow refinement. You really need to fix your footwork and handling skills.
it freaked me out I little when he put the sword to his back...😅
I'm developing a personal style (I learn best by teaching myself for a time, then having an instructor tweak my technique). I was wondering why you spend so much time muscle training your black belt student?
On average, what ratio of time do you set aside for practicing technique with your black belts?
for me ( i am no one)simply because more muscle more cardio more power all the better for martial arts stop just to train tecnique and not do at least cardio would be a bit of a waste in my opinion.

hi jack, I think u can go to 龙泉 and have a good sword
Dude u better not call yourself a master with those moves.
You're amazing sir!
Good job Nate!
Thousands and thousands of years, a master Taught a school Of martial arts To an apprentice. It was private in personal, Just like this.
It doesn't matter of the level of skill being displayed. What matters is Anything that is learned About the self. This is how martial arts Needs to be taught. Personal and private
He has good form ! you could hardly judge if someone is a master with one set. but if you were to judge him you must be a master.
I'd call myself a proficient swordsman. I am no master but this guy's opening sequence had me swallowing my own vomit. That silly looking crap is pure Hollywood and will get people killed.
Nice, practical style
So many other straight sword forms are more like interpretive dance, lacking power in favor of some ballet moves
Lol even a child could use a sword to dismember a target, muscles doesnt contribute much to this weapon. Technique and soft spots. What if opponent wears armor etc. Idk riot gear haha.
Nice sword Skills 🗡, you can rival a ninja, a knights, or even a Samurai with those skills!
You obviously never handled a sword in your life.
That is a choreography anyone can memorize, there is no skill in that video
I been making knifes and throwing knifes all the time but I never really made a sword i got one what looks like crap it dont look bad its just in bad shape. Do any you guys know if its better to have more weight on the handle or should there be more weight on the blade itself
Forget that idea of a perfectly balanced because it's a load of crap only good for fantasy novels or dungeons and dragons. An axe is 'perfectly' balanced because it needs the majority of weight in the head to cut into stuff. Thrusting weapons need a point of balance further back. Cutting weapons need the point of balance further forward. Obviously the majority of the weight will be in the blade. Main ways to bring the point of balance further back are to add a crossguard before the handle is fitted to the tang, and then add a pommel to the tang after the handle is fitted. Depending on what kind of sword you want you might need to shorten the blade or add a basket hilt or a bunch of other things. It works both ways. If you pick up a sword and see it has a point of balance eight inches from the tip you're obviously meant to be swinging it to land cuts. Also if you have a mainly cutting based style say like wushu then you'll need a sword with a forward point of balance. Swordmaking is tough work, good luck.
A Chinese Jian is weighted a little more up the blade towards the point of percussion (the part that you'd strike with) than our european swords that have it closer to the hilt for balance in the hand, hence the wide sweeping motions in their forms
Ignore anyone that says they're just decorative, the Chinese used them as sidearms on the battlefield for almost a millenia now. The ones you see these guys using are training weapons
Thankyou teacher! That shit was dope! For us fast learners awesome. Do do some more videos. Fuck the haters
Where can I buy these swords?
+The_Lost_Son either kult of athena(the sharpening service they have its good i would say in my opinon) or cold steel to list a few example
Jake Airspace, what's push ups have to do with sword skill? Jack of all trades master of none
He did only 14 push up at the first time
Make the speed to 1.5 for better view
That flipping of the swords is seriously going to hurt someone one. Is it even a real martial arts technique?
Jake where is this form from?
+Dave Preston What do you mean. Can you be more specific?
Hey Jake every form come from a system of Martial Arts . What system and teacher lineage did this sword form come from?
+Dave Preston lol no response. He's a fraud.
+Dave Preston are you serious, this guy is a sad example of wannabe master... he is worst than those Oprah-made-guru's ...
and you asking him about the lineage ..lol
+Leonard Orr I asked him a questions based on something I saw. I try to be open minded .
Who is the master here exactly?
real training?
Nope is not
Nope...
in the intro we ar was that
This guy again
😮👏👍
Looks like a videoclip
How about a tai chi sword vs katana video?
Yes please show this idiot getting a very short demonstration of real swordsmanship. I will even dig his grave.
Jian is not king of the weapons. Spear is king of the weapons. Jian is queen of weapons.
And Ma Bu... regardless of whether it's a Southern or Northern (which includes Internal systems)... feet are parallel. And yes it's a big deal.
Your weapon is an extension of yourself. You must think of it as another part of your own body.
Shifu Jake, I really enjoy reading the opening proverbs in the intros to your videos. But they also beg me to ask the question: do you adhere to the teachings and philosophical beliefs of Taoism, Buddhism, or perhaps a hybrid of both?
Would love to here your thoughts. Cheers.
No master
he is
true magic will flow in a big river which is discovered by any one by it self or NOT the speed is not seen by an eye the flow is not seen by the inner eye ... if the source stays pure and discovered .... its better then any worthless TALK that for sure ...
What if you can’t do push ups
I trained kung fu at Shaolin temple and that is humiliating!
The actual Shaolin Temple hasn't taught traditional kung fu in hundreds of years. So unless you are the worlds oldest man, I seriously doubt it. Nice try though. Monks are also far more humble. Good zen, doesn't teach insults.
Most Chinese Master aren't Master
They got the title because their connection to the party
Are you aware of the fact that an Indian monk called Bodhidharma brought martial arts to China?
Correction, He brought the five animal styles of Shaolin to china. Different forms have always existed.
this is flawed i know the drunk sword style , kali , polish saber , the italian eagle style , kendo and trained in ninjutsu i can tell this is off and would land you dead in battle. i can see the peaceful part of it in the sense its not meant for battle like spirituality and in modern day this is good since people now use guns instead of swords but still martial arts originated cause people needed ways to defend themselves by that i mean war or bandits and such cause that was a part of daily life back then kill or be killed. anyway if you are making these videos for spiritual or meditational reasons then you are doing a damm good job and would like to see more . but if these are videos for actual self defence then i am sorry but its just not practical .anyways good content
Step 1 put dog in house before you accidentally slice him
Hahaha, What a joke... Be aware that this guy is a Fraud not a master
Yea it's more like a dancing choreography than anything else. In a real fight they would probably kill him in the most straightforward way possible. Flashy nonsense is not practical.
So what system and teacher is thus form from hmmmmmm...............?
It's an otherworldly form that he learned from Uranus. Or someone's anus anyways.
If you want to real hero then come to Kangleipak
Okay, okay, okay. I don't know why I'm bothering with this, but... why is half the comment section being so hateful? If you truly are better at the sword than the guys in the video, scoff at it and move on. Really no need to publicly insult the guy. And just a blind guess, but I don't think the great many of you insulting him have any reason for your attitudes besides a feeling that you are fluent in Chinese culture because you watch kung-fu movies. And another thing: tai-chi is used more for show and exercise than it is practical. If you want practical fighting go with mixed martial arts.
Though it may not be true, I'm getting the feeling that half the comment section don't know crap about Chinese culture, but still feel like they have the right to tell others off for being disrespectful. It really pisses me off that people from another continent feel like they know enough about Chinese culture to have the status to police others in regards to Chinese culture (it's a bad reason, but nobody's perfect). If you really do see a problem with well, anything, then do respond to it with at least a tad it of respect for a fellow human being.
P.S. Before you start sharpening your virtual internet knives in response to my long rant, I am Chinese. But I'm pretty sure y'all are fluent enough in English to infer that.
No taichi isn't for show. It is the grand ultimate fist. Built for war, as the pinnacle of internal forms. Having been all across Asia; one thing I noted from the monastery - right across to the Ryu in Okinawa, is that where you are from means nothing. I have no idea why you fools keep mentioning it. You live and you die. Tàijí quán was born on the battlefield. It deserves better than to be mocked; and these people in the video are being criticized not for their MA directly; but by claiming to be masters. Which they are not. China has beginners who aren't fully into their teenage years who are vastly more capable. Martial arts aren't a game. Get them wrong - and you die. The fact that some of us still use skills like these in warzones seems to escape people. When you are alone; and your weapon jams. Or even if you are a young person about to be mugged and raped in an ordinary life - you need effectiveness. Properly developed Taichi can readily beat an average criminal. Whatever abomination this, will do naught but get you killed.
i saw this guy (so called master ) got beaten up by a regular man ........LMAO
When yellow fever is wanting chinese flavor.
this guys form is off and need to loosen up a bit and wats up with all the push ups
Cool, where’s your video?
this a fake style but the training is good
yeah true historic chinese swords 1600bc compared to japanese 900ad , lot of history in chinese swords , never mind your poncy katanas
Isn't there a bit too many extraneous movements?
Black belt isnt kids class
Jake would benefit from enrolling in a Kung Fu kids class!
In the past before duelling people did a lot of dumb stuff although fun until people realised they were bad techniques. Kung fu to me is like swordsmanship evolved without much sparring taking a more artistic direction.
Master?
yeah, he's a real dick.
Funny train ha ha ha hu
Horse stance foot have to be parallel... just saying.
For real. Regardless of whether Southern or Northern systems... feet are parallel in Ma Bu
