We bought a small home in Cody three years ago, where we relocated from the west coast for retirement. The biggest cultural obstacle has been living with the xenophobia. EVERY conversation with new acquaintances WILL contain questioning about where you live, both currently and previously. I'd advise newcomers to change the plates on their out-of-state car to help avoid road rage from the locals--we've had two life-threatening interactions. Buy a local phone number if you want local businesses to "pick up" and not give you "special" pricing when they do.
I had those thoughts in the past, but now I think about the caldera blowing up in Yellowstone, ... and the thought of being close to "ground zero", would not be something I'd be looking forward to.
That's pretty funny. I'd rather die quickly than linger for years...Seriously. If Yellowstone or Yosemite blows as we think it will, the entire world will be in deep kimchi. 🤪
Nah, ... nothing like Jackson Hole, Casper, etc. I've looked at "projected fall out" maps in the past, and some areas (many states away) might only get a "dusting". When Mt. Saint Helens blew, not many survived that which were on the one side of the mountain, ... but this will be much bigger than that.
@@ericmcdowell5762😂 You’re not looking long term. The reason you’d suffer a long and lingering decline in health and life would be the extreme and sudden climate cooling from what they think the massive eruption would do. The sun would be blocked for YEARS, as well as much of the air being unbreathable.
Great video! We have good friends that want to move here from Phoenix. I gave them your info. They are going to start to start looking in April. BTW - your hair looks awesome! I have been thinking about getting hair extensions. Are they a hassle or easy to manage? Virginia
We live in Cody and fly regularly to CA. Jet service to Denver from Cody is available three flights daily. Round trip to Sacramento runs anywhere from $350-$1200 with average of around $450.
Currently live in the UK but it's always been a dream of mine to live in Wyoming! Fingers crossed one day!
My 16 year old wants to when he graduates HS( from Ohio )
Very into the outdoors, fishing, hunting, hiking etc.
Thoughts?

For air travel, which is the best part of the state to live in? For example, we would fly back to California multiple times per year.
Cheyenne or Evanston both are only an hour from either Denver airport or Salt Lake City airport
Or Laramie too
