    I left one comment already but I forgot about the allergy deal.An elderly woman told me to do this because I was on Claritin for allergies,I sneezed alot.Go to a local Farmers Co-Op in your area and buy some local honey.I did that.She said take 2 teaspoons of honey a day.I did that and now I am off of the allergy meds.I didnt know it but apparently the honey made locally helps you build up an immunity to the plants,molds and pollen etc. growing around the area you live in. Plus it tastes so good :)

      Hey Sherina, Thank you for taking the time to watch our video and leave a comment. 1000% agree with you regarding buying and consuming local honey. It has made a difference in my allergies. I must admit, I do miss the honey from Central California because of all of the orange blossoms!

    I love that you moved to Knoxville, I was born in Knoxville and lived there until my father moved us to Ohio in 1957. I now live in South Carolina, but everytime I cross that Tennessee state line, I feel at home. And thank you for saying all the wonderful things about TN. I agree. I hope you have a fun and prosperous life there.

    I grew up in FL, then CA for 3 years. Moved to Memphis and was there for 14 years. Then moved back to CA and unfortunately still here. Plan on moving back to TN in 4 years to the Chattanooga area. Went to UT Knox for a year, but graduated from Memphis. Tennessee is ho e for me. The vibe is great. People are very polite and respectful. The Smokies are great in the fall. On allergies, never had any until moving to CA in the Central Valley. Glad you are happy with the southern living. I hope you all made out safe and sound with the Helene storm issues. TN is a beautiful state. I'm early-retired (lay-off) and about to turn 61 but I don't know that anywhere in the US is very affordable, if my little townhouse wasn't paid off here in DE I'd be scraping by. Of course, climate issues will force a move before too long. From what I see, Southeast Asia is affordable.

    • @RelocatingtoEastTN

      Yes. We were very fortunate. The geography of the Smoky Mountains usually does a great job of protecting the Knoxville area from the brunt of storms coming up out of the Gulf.
      I'm sorry for the lay-of. I sure wish I could tell you that Knoxville was still as affordable as it was just a few years ago.... but sadly. It's still far more reasonable than a lot of the country and certainly CA but the gap is narrowing. I wish you the very best of luck!

      @@RelocatingtoEastTN Thank you. I'm sure TN is very affordable compared to CA. For climate resiliency, the states around the Great Lakes are the in the best area. DE is pretty "affordable" relative in the region, no sales tax, but we're mainly low and coastal...

      @@RelocatingtoEastTN in all fairness, Fresno can be known as a very rough city. MANY Other CA cities are just as big, or small, and quaint and sweet and friendly as the Knoxville area. There are plenty of friendly, like minded people in Fresno & the surrounding areas. Some of us love California enough to stay and try to make it better. Also, it kinda irritated me when one of you said something about no one here making “eye contact” , that is a complete falsehood. There is no perfect place to live, there will always be something…

    • @RelocatingtoEastTN
      @RelocatingtoEastTN  6 годин тому +3

      @@victoriagoble1610 So, I partially agree with you. There are some truly amazing people in Fresno and the rest of the state, many of whom I still consider close friends (particularly in the foothill communities, which are strikingly similar to Eastern Tennessee in both culture and scenery). California is not all bad, and Tennessee is certainly not all good. But, having lived in both places now, I can say with absolute assuredness that Tennessee is generally, though not always, more welcoming and is undoubtedly the less expensive place to live, work, and raise a family. Regarding staying and trying to make it better... If you firmly believe that California can still be saved, I genuinely wish you all the best of luck. (I mean that, there is no condescension in my statement, and I hope for the sake of you and my friends and family, you are right.) That said, we could simply no longer afford to take the chance. I hope I was able to convey my thoughts with kindness and respect for you and your viewpoints.

    This is an absurd video and an even more absurd premise. Memphis and Knoxville have a higher per capita violent crime rate than does Los Angeles and San Francisco. I've lived in Tennessee and currently live in California. And if I see one more video about somebody complaining about graffiti or homelessness or this that or the other thing I'm going to pull my hair out. Do all these people live in the worst part of Fresno or Bakersfield. Of course there are bare parts of the state. I live in Laguna Beach/Dana point. It's a block from the ocean and I have been rubbernecking for close to two years now to see one single homeless person just to validate some of these crazy points made by ex-Californians. I can't find one. None zero. Believe me I've been looking for the bad things. Constantly eight hours a day and I can't find anything remotely close to what has been described. Laguna Miguel and Mission Viejo is where I work and again same thing. I thought it might just be me so I went online and looked at the crime statistics and lo and behold what I find out… That's right, Irvine/Mission Viejo is the single safest community/town/city in the entire United States not just California. Thousand Oaks is second again that's California. I'll admit I wasn't stupid. When I came here actually did some homework and research and believe it or not Yep folks it's true you can come to California and live a life completely free of politics and be safer here than anywhere else in the United States is true go online check it out the safest United States cities of over 50,000 people and guess what you'll find. (See the above). As someone that lived in Tennessee for 16 years and practice medicine here's a few facts to know. Tennessee is ranked 48th out of 50th in healthcare and education. Tennessee has 50 known hate groups that have been identified the most in the United States of America. Alabama is second in case anybody is interested. In the end I think many of these people that create these videos are leaving for reasons other than that which they actually are describing and that is they don't have the money to live here. They don't have the money to live here correctly that is and well. They wanted to go someplace where they didn't have to pay state taxes and where they could pay half the rent and the cost of housing is less than 50% so that's fine I get that but to beat up on the state and say that it's one big homeless encampment or crime infested ghetto is patently absurd. In terms of happiness quotients California comes right up in the top five or six states every year. You wouldn't know it by hearing all the anti-California stuff but it's true Tennessee comes in at dead last in the United States and switches spots with Alaska every year or two. Tennessee is no paradise. Crime is out of control particularly in Memphis and Knoxville is becoming a close second to Memphis and you could not pay me to go back there. Much much more dangerous than anything I've seen in California including San Francisco and most of Los Angeles with the exception of downtown LA.

    • @CroisMoi
      @CroisMoi 41 хвилина тому

      You have good points, could you make paragraphs? Memphis is an armpit, from what I have heard. I'm looking at moving to Tennessee from Texas, so I can slow down in my older years. This family sells real estate. I think that is a big part of the channel.
      Violent crime rate in Knoxville is 44, in LA it is 29. So you are right. In my mind, if you can live in the suburbs you are better off.
