I think a cool video for you would be a normal person who ends up trying out to become a space marine and his perspective through to process of being selected traveling to the training planet/moon and the horror of watching so many other people around him die as he struggles to get through the various trials needed to be deemed worth the get the gene seed

Probably one of the coolest things about the universe is within these huge spans of time there is room for endless fan fiction. Stories of traitor Primarchs before their fall such as this.
Such a great description. He strives to perfect his war, but possesses such a nobility and a eye to diplomacy.
That first story honestly showed me why I love 40k so much like just how you told it had so many emotions and thinking’s going on within me thank you so much
I loved how the stories are successive over the course of millennias, as if a mythology was built, the origin of the dynasty to the current day, a return to the days of old

The biggest tragedy of the 41st millennium is that black library hasn’t hired you yet. The 1st story in this video single-handedly showed me an aspect of Fulgrim that I had never appreciated before in my 3+ years in the hobby.

I adored your call to action at the end during memory lane. It reminds me that what I really want to field is a true Imperium army. A real mix, solid core of Imperial Guard, reinforced by Skitarii and Kastelan Robots, flamer weilding battle sisters and grim Astartes. Modern 40k frowns on and gives no official support for such projects, but I'm certain that few opponents at a hobby club would begrudge facing such a thematic army. As you are so fond of saying, we must make time for fun!
Its gotta be expensive and uncompetitive, but I’ve dreamt of using the Detachment system to do exactly what you’re talking about.
The idea of building your night’s army just by grabbing individual pre-stated detachments to create your Imperium-tag Battlegroup.. maybe you play a 2k game with 1k IG, 500 SM, 500 AM. Throw in some Sororitas, maybe a squad of Deathwatch, Inquisitors.. whatever calls to you that day.
If memory serves you can go to a Warhammer shop and run an ‘Armageddon’ game. No rules against what you mix together and something like a 20,000 point limit. That’s what a buddy of mine suggested, and it’s what my army (rogue trader themed) is based off of.
I yearn for those days Baldemort - days where GW did not seem to want their game to be tailored to competitive; days where mixing and matching was encouraged.
I’d love to do a campaign with friends of growing our own rogue trader fleets

The Rogue Traders are the main characters of 40k. It may focus on the Primarchs, the Inquisition, the Mechanicum, or any number of forces, factions, and heroes (or villains). But, the Rogue Traders, they ARE the story.
My favorite part of the setting, covered by my favorite channel. This made by month, the best Christmas present I could've asked for.

He nane is Willian Macraith and was the son of a Rouge Trader who found himself at an abbandoned Black Templar chapter keep, later survived the prosess of post human transformation into the God Emperors Angels of Death.

Rogue Traders, Corsairs Fleets, Inquisitorial Squads, Desthwatch - these are all my favourite bits of TT because they can be whatever I feel like modelling at that moment in time. Anything can be thrown on there for my fleet’s pleasure

Thanks for this Bald. I was 12 years-old when a friend showed me Rogue Trader in 1988. I had played D&D/AD&D , Star Frontiers, Top Secret, Star Wars WEG, Battletech, Call of Cthulhu, and a few others. But there was NOTHING like Rogue Trader. It was absolutely insane. Yet made perfect sense to me. I really miss those days. So thank you for this walk down "ye olde memorie layne."

I was 11 years old in 1987. It was the first time my brother-in-law brought me to his friends house to play "role playing games". Our host has just returned from college in Japan where he had sold his RPG Phantasm Adventures to a company there. We played Rolemaster, D&D and games like Squad Leader. Never played Rogue Trader then but I knew of it. The story telling and long Saturday nights of gaming help kindle my unending curiosity for new worlds to explore. Twas a magical time.

Being new to this Universe, I didn't have any idea of the Rogue Traders role but you have got such a way of conveying the relevant information that even someone that has got no knowledge of this Universe has got the understanding of the faction role after listening to your videos! GW doesn't deserve its fandom. Baldemort and his fellow enthusiasts have more love for the source material than the people who produce it.
This has left me like a young girl swooning over some boy band, dreaming of what could have been. Or an old man remembering an old love, the warmth, comfort, and all the new wondrous experiences that comes with it.

I'm just doing my thing, hanging around Mr Morts page looking in corners and under rocks in case I somehow missed the next part of my favourite storyline and watching everything else as a courtesy. I am seriously musing that the much rumoured bastard that Thaddeus and Tarquinus are pursuing has some masterplan aimed squarely at the culmination of Tarquinus as the Thaddeus. But I know I haven't got the half of it lol, dammit where is it, the suspense is killing me!!?? ;)
As always, thanks for all the work and presentation of the lore. Rogue traders are not my favourites in WH40k, but you have once again done an excellent job presenting the background of the 40k version of the East India Company, as always.
One remark though: the deals in the description are probably limited to the UK or are different in other regions. In the French Gamesplanet store there is no discount on the RT when clicking your link (same prices on all editions as in the Steam store), while the Sigmar game shows only 10% off. In both cases your affiliate code is visible, but the discounts are 0% and 10%, respectively. It's possible that Gamesplanet limit the discounts to your UK viewers. Not a big deal, but maybe something you would like to be aware of.

Well m'lord Baldy, you battered this one right out of the park, it's a piece of art, utterly captures the mood in its entirety. If someone doesn't grab you by the short n curlies and has you knocking out stuff for GW then there is NO JUSTICE. The way I see it Rogue Trader takes the whole setting off in a different direction, and then there's the characters, who seem to write their own story, bit like you actually lol. So again sir, well done, just fabulous.

Freakin’ Baldermort. Always a good listen. I love the enthusiasm in this one. That end bit made me nostalgic for a period I’ve never lived.
Really excellent video. Your ability to understand, write and do justice to soo many different factions, situations and characters in the setting is as always supremely impressive. I speak in total honesty when I say, that You display a greater grasp of the nuances than many official Black Library authors.
In this alone You "get"; Fulgrim, Rogue-trader nobility politics and the essence of them as an appealing sub-faction.
But your greatest strengt is your "warmth"! You are so different from the sadly so often cynical, negative and hostile tone in the fanbase. Your "old war stories" and genuine joy for the setting is endlessly refreshing.
Coming from YOU, that means a lot. I’ve not had a great year. I hope to do much much better in 2024.

So I set forth into the Stars to seek my fortune... and I have returned many times to spend it lol
They gotta bring this back. To build a rogue trader army, using arch-types of combat and what not.
Perhaps mixing armies but with limits; like forbidding deathwatch working with any xenos or chaos and Eldar. But on the other hand you can mix guardsmen with any unit, or Astartes with ‘friendly’ Astartes. But if you stick with a single unmixed army you get special perks.
Your main character plays like a named character, using an app or something to adjust stats.
