I think my favorite variant of beast would have to be the dreaded doom bull. The thunderous bellow of a mountainous beast echoing across the landscape would send a thunderbolt of terror arching down the spine of any sane minded man.
If I may make a humble suggestion. Perhaps you can make a lore oration on ogres of the old world and age of sigmar and there similarities with the ogryn of the far future? They are my favorite lads other than greenskins.
For Classic WH a setting I admit I'm not very knowledgeable about having really only played Mordheim (20 years ago) & read some fiction (Gortrek & Felix) as well as having watched some videos, but the Beastmen were the army I wanted to build so I'm excited about this video. Having just come across some shorter video on the Skaven I would love to see you do a video for them as your storytelling I think could really do them justice. I greatly appreciate what you bring to the table & only wish you were a BattleTech fan & brought your skill at storytelling to that grimdark universe.
@harvestblades I am no bray shaman but I know quite a bit about the beastmen. They are my favorite true children of chaos undivided. If you wanted some hints on building your own bray herd here are a few. Firstly don't underestimate ungors. In shear numbers they can hold the line for larger beasts like bestigors, centigors and minotaurs to close the gap and wreak havoc in the enemy lines. Secondly don't neglect including warbeasts like cygors, ghorgons and jabberslythes to the bray herd. They can harrow the enemy from a distance like the cygor, chew up the front lines like the ghorgon or unravel the enemy with their shear presence like the jabberslythe. Thirdly as with all armies in warhammer just have fun building the bray herd.
24:00 reference to _Apocalypse Now_ when "Mr. Clean" taps a tattoo on the boat with drumsticks? Probably not. Just take it as a sign that you've gotten me in the same Grimdark headspace as a world-renowned director.
The Beastmen and the Skaven are easily the best enemies in the fantasy setting. They are the most original to Warhammer and fascinating to learn about. They aren't mustache twisting villains that are just evil for power lust, but genuinely understandable in their plight and scheming. Great vid!
I've heard the skaven are not unlike the tyranids of the fantasy setting. I can see such a simalee being true. Their numbers blot out the horizon line and their hunger is deep, dark and endlessly ravenous. The beast men are my favorite above the skaven however.

An aspect of Beastmen that plays into very primal fears (but is seldom touched upon) is that alone of the fantasy races, they'll surround a village and shout, "We've come for your children." They take your children, force them to live like animals, and soon enough, that's exactly what they become.
Interesting, not many people talk about the beastmen, I almost feel like they don't exist in 40K. This looks like it's going to be another master piece work of baldermort.

But then again, I may be a little unhinged since I've been daydreaming and playing with CHAOS since the 1970's. Welp, thats enough nostalgia from me. *Thanks for sharing some FUN with us Baldermort!*
Great vid Baldemort! Loved the long section at the start seeing the old world from the beastmen's perspective. Will admit to some bitterness at all the talk of Tzaangors as as I'm a thousand sons player near ready to give up thousand sons and all that lore fluff for near useless chaff that gets nerf after nerf. 😂
oh this brings back memories of chaos warband battles in the 1980s using the lost and damned warband rules rolling on the tables after a battle to see what your warband had attracted after fighting a skirmish depending on the points earned from said skirmish
or creating your own demon prince using random roles on the different tables where you could end up with a demon prince chaos spawn if you where unlucky.@@Baldermort
I did games day 90 and didn't bother with competitive play after that because it was so blatantly rigged for certain stories to win the finals with last minute rule changes that favoured specific armies and penalized all the others. I was the 1990 regional champion for the northwest.@@Baldermort
Well, uncle Baldy, you have brought us tales of beastmen etc and have clearly stated you are not as well informed as you wish. Sir, I am also in that place and I am not alone. We are just grateful that you may not be as up to speed as some, but your innate ability to raise our knowledge of this setting gallops along at a fair old rate, making it far more interesting than a normally skimming would allow. Thank you for that, it's a skill, a talent, maybe GW should pay attention to that?
7:30 am on a Saturday the young master is eating cereal my coffee if brewing and Baldy with a video of my favorite faction in TWW. Hello from Rogers City and the shores of Lake Huron
Thank you, good sir, for this, the latest in your excellent series. I was almost entirely ignorant of beastmen in warhammer, and now (because of my own failings and through no fault of yours), I am now only 90% ignorant! And though progress is frowned upon by the Imperium of 40k, I for one will call it such.
Today we embark on a voyage on the Magicus Schoolbus, captained by Rogue Trader Lord Baldus Mortimus. Through rituals unknown, Baldus shows us Beastkin in ages of yore and the grim darkness of the far future. There are whispers that these creatures descended from the Cult of the Furry, whose ships were lost in the warp storms of the Age of Strife, and chaos scattered them through warp and winds of magic. A small Black Templars crusade known only as the Flashus Gitzus attempts to stem the tide of these chaos-spawn in the grim darkness of the far future. There are only rumors of some warriors from Ubersreik, no more than five, no less than four, doesn't matter that fought against this tide of vermin in ages of yore, but naught else is known. Heed well this story.
Beastmen, the red haired stepchild of chaos and considering how “well” the four treat their favoured followers, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that they hate everything.
Just finished Shamanslayer. My entire perspective on Beastmen has changed. And that was written before Tzaangors were so well established. Thank you AoS.
I know. I don’t like to mix genres too much, but it’s a way if softly introducing old world. It’s coming back. So I’d like to cover it a bit. Just for variety. But I hear you. I do.
@@Baldermort I feel like you're taking my comment as a negative, which isn't my intent. This was a great and informative video, and I appreciate the look at each setting. I would gladly take this video over an excellent one from most creators on UA-cam. I just usually wouldn't choose it over, say, the video on the re-founding of the Blood Spears.
Mega another story from my favorite UA-camr,,. You are a genius of the spoken word my friend thanks for the simple joy you bring brother baldermort 👍🤘✌️
I often feel beast men get the short end of the stick in 40k, even more so than the Traitor Guard. So much potential for interesting stories and fun gameplay mechanics, but almost always overlooked outside of some throw away fluff or specialist units.
For those raised on *Corpstarch...* _Beastmen_ must look like a self-delivering Barbeque, complete with its own cooking utensils. That's not _fear_ in the Militarum's eyes... It's *hunger.*

But then again, I may be a little unhinged since I've been daydreaming and playing with CHAOS since the 1970's.
Welp, thats enough nostalgia from me. *Thanks for sharing some FUN with us Baldermort!*
Really cool seeing you dip into warhammer fantasy lore a bit more. Hope this video does well and we can see some more of that.
Awesome! Thank you everyone always talks about chaos but these are the true servants of the dark gods
oh this brings back memories of chaos warband battles in the 1980s using the lost and damned warband rules rolling on the tables after a battle to see what your warband had attracted after fighting a skirmish depending on the points earned from said skirmish
Oh, the ludicrous way you could put all your points into the demon then random roll your entourage. Hilarious.
or creating your own demon prince using random roles on the different tables where you could end up with a demon prince chaos spawn if you where unlucky.@@Baldermort
Before the fixation on competitive play.
Good times. Good times.
For the Eru Ilúvatar, this fine man would do the mighty deed covering professor Tolkien work.
7:30 am on a Saturday the young master is eating cereal my coffee if brewing and Baldy with a video of my favorite faction in TWW. Hello from Rogers City and the shores of Lake Huron
Been too long, I'm gonna have to lay up and gift myself this video.
Baldermort, I love how you flex your knowledge of terminology from Tolkien's Legendarium! ❤
Awesome as always. 😋
Hell yes!!! When the old world comes out im expanding my dwarf army but also starting a beastmen army! Always wanted 1
Well, there are reasons Furries will not touch the Beastmen of WHF and Wh40K. Seriously, the Skaven get more .
Seeing Games Workshop going from RuneQuests Broo to our current Beastmen has been a fun one.
Thank you , Baldermort .
🐺 Loupis Canis .
thank you baldermort for allowing me to recall much loved old memories of simpler happy times 🤟🤟
Beastmen, the red haired stepchild of chaos and considering how “well” the four treat their favoured followers, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that they hate everything.
Great video!!. Could you possibly make a long form video on the custodes..❤
When he said beastmen just oooo i love whem you send shivers down my spine
Just finished Shamanslayer. My entire perspective on Beastmen has changed. And that was written before Tzaangors were so well established. Thank you AoS.
Another excellent video from you, although I prefer your standard format. This one was very informative. I like the way it covered all the settings.
Alright. Now I need to listen you going in depth about all things Lord of the rings! A deep dive of the ring wraiths by you would be amazing!
poor dudes, this video was as close as i got to caring about beastmen. Wich is impressive
Well, i guess i know who im playing in my next Total war campaign. Excellent story as always sir Baldermort.
For those raised on *Corpstarch...* _Beastmen_ must look like a self-delivering Barbeque, complete with its own cooking utensils.
That's not _fear_ in the Militarum's eyes... It's *hunger.*
always glad to see my favorite warhammer faction getting some attention.
To hear the Beastman spoken about in the nature documentary voice and narration style was beautiful and refreshing 😍 ❤ Please do more before end time lore and content 🙏
Good old Baldermort, Covering the one Army I have purchased!
Oh this should be DELIGHTFUL!!! 🤗
Thanks again, Balderman.
I'm still looking forward to the next Kronan entry.
Great job on this buddy💯❤️
With orktober on the horizon what are the odds of seeing a similar video for our favorite fun-guy, addressing orks across all 4 settings. I will say aos has really fleshed out orks, gloomspite gitz are a blast.
Glad to see my Fantasy army getting some much needed love. They just want hugs! And probably vengeance. Sweet, sweet justice...
Great episode on these mutanted and mostly not understood elements of the settings.
Hell yes! I was just playing Beastmen in TW:W3. The Emperor blesses us this day!
I miss you Bald. I needed this.
