Good Morning, I have struggled with hibernating during the cold weather. The way I have been dealing with this is to go walk around the mall or the grocery store. I normally enjoy walking outside but its been so cold. 👍🏻☕️🌹 I wish you and everyone here a beautiful day. 💕🎶🌟 🎉

Not a gym person either, but I do love your yoga videos. Also "Walk At Home" with Leslie Sanson. They are both wonderful for this 69 year old when the weather doesn't co-operate for outside walking. Currently minus 4 with a wind-chill of minus 14 C. Enjoy your day ladies. From Nova Scotia, Canada.

I made a list of indoor, outdoor, and meals I like for our below zero temps here. At one time, I was confined to chair exercise. Amazingly, consistent determination of doing PT on my own along with walking and weights, I'm healing every day. For me, too, now that I have the proper clothing (some great thrift treasures and a good pair of new boots) Even in the freezing weather, I try to walk at night once a week to see the beautiful night sky and feel the peacefulness surround me. ❄️❄️❄️ thank you for these ideas and reminders.

I have exercise bike, but believe me I don't get on it everyday. I do go out in the snow to lightly shovel. So I guess I'm not totally hibernate.
I do have dumbbells. Thank you Margaret for this topic, it helps.

I have found that wearing a fitness watch is so beneficial for me. It tracks my steps/miles, heart rates, sleep patterns, breathing rate at night, oxygen in my blood, stress levels and it reminds me to get up and move if I've become lost in a book. You can pick them up for reasonable costs now, too. I'm not a gym person either.

@@jeannie3068 I replied to you, but I'm not sure where it went! My fitness watch is no longer available, but it is an A M A Z F I T. (I spelled it like that in case my comment got deleted for naming a product) If you go on their website, you will see many different price ranges and styles. Good luck!

Hi Margaret, I belong to a gym, but have been inside because of icy/snowy weather conditions here in NH. I did manage to walk about 2 1/2 miles using the stairs, hallways and the underground garage where I live. I went back to the gym today. It's freezing out. During the pandemic I bought some basic exercise equipment: bands, dumb bells, a ball etc. Just went back to a gym after 3 1/2 years of working out at home. Take care and stay warm everyone!

Guess what ? It’s been cold and icy here in Alabama for a week!!! I got out my summer clothes and got them ready for warm weather. Ironing , put a button on. Also I cut the sleeves off a denim jacket ,now it’s a vest. It looked so good I did 2 more. Now I can wear long sleeve blouses with those. Proud of my work today.
I got a trampoline! I bounce, not jump, just bounce. I’m working my way to a real workout.
Love your videos , Thank you.

I don’t know where I would be without my electric throw and electric under blanket on my bed. Thankfully I do get out for a walk as I have two little dogs but both are older now and don’t like the cold or wet either so not walking so far as we used to! Stay well everyone. 💕

I get steps in by doing “loops” around my living room, dining room and kitchen, lift free weights, and do squats, push ups, etc. inside when it’s too cold to go out. Dancing is a great way to exercise. It takes little space, is fun, and gets your heart rate up.

Hi Margaret, I wanted to share the experience of my kayaking group. We started on a local sailing lake in the summer but we've carried on through winter. I'm 62 but my friend who started the group is 77. She suffers from arthritis in her hips and knees so walking is too painful but as soon as she's in a kayak she can outstrip us all😅. If you can exercise with friends it's the best motivation ever 😊

So grateful I live in California and have a dog that needs walking 3x a day. I’m very disciplined (patting myself on the back here 😂) when it comes to exercise and do yoga and Pilates stretches every day and use weights 3x a week. I don’t like gyms either unless they’re for women only. Used to love Curves and went there until they went out of business 😞 Thanks for all your suggestions to keep us moving!

Maybe your audience has heard of "Swedish Death Cleaning" which sounds grim, but isn't. It's about getting rid of the clutter that we've accumulated in our 60+ years that we aren't using now, our kids and grandkids probably don't want, and we definitely can't take with us when we go. (I don't know if there's an afterlife, but if there is, I doubt they need more coffee mugs.) When I eventually pass, which I hope is a very long time from now, I certainly don't want my kids and grandkids having to sort through mountains of stuff. So that's the "death" part in Swedish Death Cleaning.
But the sifting, sorting, and packing up for donation or sale gets you moving (but be careful not to hurt yourself lifting). I spent an hour in the kitchen today clearing a grand total of one shelf. But's an hour more moving than I did yesterday. Plus it got rid of the chili oil that expired in June of 2021.

Safety . Grippers for shoes/boots are great. Mittens are great hand warmers. Wool caps and neck warmers.
Have a basket holder near one's door for winter accessories. Less chance of misplacing them. Snow pants and jacket. Protein bars in coat/jacket packets.
Winter time is beautiful in its own way.
Snow & ice here in the Pacific Northwest, USA. Ice coating the outdoors ,looks like diamonds all around. Boot Grippers prevent falling while walking family pet 🐕 outdoors.
Fresh air is so refreshing .
One exercising program a hit for me is an essentric stretch. It is keeping my body more flexible and lowers seasonal depression.
Stay safe sisters around the world. ❤❄️ 🦮

I walk around the block and I have a treadmill and I use light weight and I LOVE THEM!! PLEASE consider using them! It's a great stretch and it builds muscle! I do it watching TV for 5 or 10 mins. I highly recommend it! You can start with 2 pounds and I use 5 or 6 pound weights now. Really enjoyable and great for health! Also, you can do them sitting down. Best thing ever!! Thank you Margaret!♥️

I’ve been to Iceland and Sweden in the winter. In Germany and Scandinavia it’s said that there’s no such thing as bad weather only the wrong clothing. I wore thermal underwear and layer your clothes, touque that covers your ears, gloves, spikes on my shoes (which I didn’t have on last year & slipped breaking my ankle, foot and knee) and off I go.

I try to go out as much as possible. It's not really the weather that deters me so much as it is just a sensory overload. I prefer the quietness and serenity of being home. Crossing the streets these days is a feat in it of itself. I'm pretty swift but imagine those that aren't, divers just do not want to follow the rules of the road and a lot of them are under some form of intoxication because the government wants to legalize as many substances as possible. I have an app called Citizen and most reports are car incidents, it's scary.
Basically that's why I prefer to stay home or try to go out super early in the morning so I can come home to decompress from all the dense energies of the day. This three dimensional Planet is a tough on the human body, that's why our life span at best is 85 years.
