Go with the palomar knot for your hook onto loop.

Hi and great to hear I'm also still learning too and the more tips you know the more chances to catch a fish in my opinion

@@buzzythaosadventures7580 when i use that rig i use a hard line as a trace line around 80lb, i also make the loop smaller and make up hook and trace seperate so i can just loop it on quick and i use a 80lb soft line for that

@@rodashford1151 I make mine with 80lb as well. I have about 4-5 full turns when I do mine and I sometimes wish the bugger would break when I'm hooked up to them monster lemon sharks over that 80-100kg mark but I tend to straighten the 8/0 circles instead of breaking the knot. I will admit i have tried with 100lb and I wasn't a big fan, less fish interest and it's just a pain to knot compared to the 80lb in my opinion

@@greenmachine3696 yeah it definitely is but after useing 200lb and bigger i have found 80lb is big enough now days lol

Good work Buzz. Was that your boat driving at Edmonton around 5pm on Thursday afternoon? I saw a Stacer Bowrider out of the corner of my eye and with the white Honda on the back!
