I read "The Quiet Man' as a high school junior in 1967 and fell in love with the story. Every time it was replayed on TV I stayed up as late as necessary to watch it, just to see the fight scene. I rejoiced when I was able to buy it in VHS and probably watched it 20 times the first year I owned it. More rejoicing when it was released in DVD. I have a special place for my 'special DVDs' and 'The Quiet Man' has an honored spot even there. I consider the movie to be one of the most underrated movies ever produced even though it has its silly moments. It has never really received the amount of attention it deserved. Great actors, a believable story-line, a most beautiful location in which it was filmed, and, in my opinion, the most entertaining fight scene ever filmed.
My greatest sadness connected to the film is the fact 'White A-morn' now sits in ruins. If I had the financial means I would happily restore it for the world to see and appreciate. I pray I will be able to visit there before my walk here ends.
GOD Bless John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara, and all the other outstanding actors and locals in the film who have now slipped the bonds of this earth!

Very much enjoyed this episode. Maureen O'Hara passed away last year at her home in Boise, Idaho (USA), which is where I live. She had a amazing career and was admired by many. On a happier note, most of us have played "Air Guitar" at one time or another. Now you have introduced the world to "Air Fishing." It's bound to catch on. Best wishes.

Just watched The Quiet Man. Great movie. Maureen was so beautiful. Did not know it but Maureen was actually born in Ranelagh, Ireland. She just died last October. They mention Inisfree which is currently a little island off north west Ireland Donagal County. Seems uninhabited.

yes pls more land Marks ,, really like the Drone of the grounds , abbys ,castles ,, 1200's how far back ,??, ha ha ,I cannot imagine either ,, but I could not have said it better ,,the back ground music is not distracting ,and is mood setting , thanks , a little history helps put in perspective , who built and any well known Event related to the location ,, Fishing house , amazing , 1st I have seen ,, I am in Southern Calif. usa and have visited castles in England , more than 10 years ago but not Ireland , this is as close as I can get presently ,, thank so much for your time and effort , family tree stuff on My mother's side ,mostly Welsh /English just makes it unbearablely interesting , and yes there are some irish ties , very distant but very real

Well to be fair it is right on the border between galway and mayo. If you ever go there take a boat trip on lough corrib in groubds of ashford castle.pure irish. ❤

A great idea but a missed opportunity .
Diction terrible, cameras speeding up and slowing down. didn't seem to know much about the topic, soundtrack could have included some Irish music.
Hope there is a remake of this with a more professional approach.
