This was amazing. I'm longing to go home once Covid permits. I constantly tell people of how beautiful Ireland is. Thankyou for showing the sheer wonder & history of Ireland.
What a wonderful recall for me as I spent 4 days in the Village of Cong, rode a horse around Ashford Castle with a guide and took the boat from the lake there to the little island where St. Patrick's nephew is buried and there is the ruins of an old church. Loved this place and, of course, saw the movie before I went there. Cong is my favorite place in all of Ireland. I was there in May of 1997 and spent 2 weeks in Ireland.
Thank You, Sue! The Quiet Man is one of my favorite films, as I suppose it should be. Maybe someday I can bring my wife over and we can see the sights of Ireland in person. But until then, I am grateful for those such as yourself who give us these glimpses.
I never ever thought I would get the chance to see actual film locations ,, especially the village . Doesn't appear to have changed much , praise God for that ,, there's no need to change what is perfect already ..Thank you very much Sue . I subscribed and i'm going through your videos now .. I saw a lot of these Quiet Man locations on the Travel Trolls TV when they were locked down in Ireland during COVID-19. Awesome to see it from your view too!!
Oh wow really, you know we had to talk real nice to get to walk along the banks of the river and to the house are it's for residents only but we had the Irish charm and luck that day and the man in the green suit let us in to film

That statue of, I guess John Wayne sweeping Maureen O'hara off her feet? I have a very special friend in my life, I wonder if, she would let me do that with her, one day. I loved that film, action from beginning to end . The priest and all the towns folk. Even an old man dying jumps out of his bed , to follow the fight.
