It has been 70 years since the film came out and I am still watching it, thanks to my Dad. This was one of his favorite movies and now it is one of mine.

When I was seven years old I was in a bait shop in the microscopic town of Web Lake Wisconsin, and John Wayne walked in. I never saw my father gobsmacked before or since.

The golden days of Hollywood are gone forever. John Ford and
Maureen o Hara if they were alive today, would not want to have anything to do with Hollywood today.

They've got 4 and a half million £ so far and apparently it's not enough to rebuild a cottage? Something fishy going on there!

I was crazy about this film for years and eventually in the 70s discovered Cong were it was made. I went into a shop that was the Pub in the film and talked to Jack Murphy, who sold me a real blackthorn shillelagh stick like the one Danagher had in the film, which turned out to be something else painted black!.

Everytime I pass Macy's in NYC I think of Maureen O'Hare in "Miracle on 34th Street"...That's were they made that movin. Alot was done inside of Macy's at night time they filmed inside the store when it was closed..

The theme music and the stunning scenery made the Quiet Man film so memorable
The story was pretty much stage Irish of its time.
One can't unsee Wayne dragging Maureen O Hara by the hair, or her offering him a rod to beat her.
M O H was an undoubted beauty, but she had to play the part of a skittish slightly wild Irish lassie " peeping out from behind The Gate" scene at Wayne which was not very edifying
The pub brawl was not Irish cultural norm ,,, hopefully nor the brawl by the river
    Cripes hopefully not...
Beautiful music, beautiful scenery, beautiful girl,
John Wayne was a typecast cowboy, but his presence in Ireland caused a sensation in the 50s
    Stage Irish ,, but enjoyable
