Well this was quite unexpected, I never thought in a million years that you would ever do a reaction/commentary vid of the Brony Documentary Saberspark. I mean I know you have history with the mlp fandom and Brony community but even so.
Imagine being a long running character on Star Trek: The Next Generation and having some random dudes walk up to you asking you to quote a character you voiced in a little girl’s cartoon.
I hadn’t seen this movie in a long time, but I remember enjoying the heck out of it, and feeling humbled by how this fandom has helped so many people, as well as grateful to have found this community.
I actually cited this documentary for a presentation on fandoms, and honed in on the Brony fandom as it was a choose your own topic presentation in sophomore year of high school. I did also watch the other documentary on Bronies but I only cited one interview from it.
I remember buying the signed DVD at a Pony con called BUCK in Manchester, back then I hadn't met Tara Strong and felt like it was the closest I would get to her since I wanted to thank her in person all those years ago. I still look upon this DVD with nostalgia, flaws n all.
After seeing Dumbsville tear into this unfairly, I needed to see a balanced take on this. Also, like, yeah I used to write fanfics back in those days. Were they cringe? ehhhhh yes, at least until the last few, but they gave me the basis to write my real novels. I wouldn't be where I am without them. I wouldn't have a career (at least a good one) without them. So, do your cringe stuff. You might just set yourself up for a future endeavour.
Honestly it just felt like dumbsville wanted an excuse to hate on the fandom. It happens when the internet starts accepting the fandom, some loser sees I and I like, "nope. Can't have that." Then they release a hate video to try and turn people against us again
@@NathanDyer-w1l That was I think the very first vid I actually hit dislike on. I NEVER click that button (mainly cos it's useless) but that was the only time I was like, "no. This is just against the fandom, autism and good will in general. Take a thumbs down."
@@NathanDyer-w1l Oh and then there's Turkey Tom's video. The one that reinvented the term flame war in recent times and brought so much hate out. One guy said to this other guy who was just trying to say the show helped him with drepression, that he should have suffered or triefd to get professional help instead cos the show was quote cdringe. Yes, professional help is good, but the dude was literally implying he'd rather the other guy die than get help from the show. I even stepped in. Thankfully that guy's been booted off YT as well as another guy I was trying to reason with. Guess the trolls were staeriving cos that comment section is still a feast of rage culture. So, thanks Tom...as if we haven't been through enough. Guess he saw the fragmented nature of the fandom after the show ended and went for it.
@@Pony-Potential Turkey Tom has always been a disgusting opportunistic pr*ck. He's also openly tried to destroy Pyrocynical's life by pushing false allegations. Even after they were proven false, he refused to apologise, and kept pushing them. At least until it stopped getting him attention
I Donated to the Kicktarter for this. It was my First ever Kickstarter donation. (Or Donation Project equivalent) Got my name in the credits and some swag, including a signed copy of the documentary. I was pretty disappointed with it in the end. A much BETTER Documentary on the same topic came out about a month later that needed NO public donations. This was also my LAST ever Kickstarter Donation.
You should do more animation documentaries, like Waking Sleeping Beauty which is a documentary about the Disney Renaissance era, Persistence Of Vision which is a documentary on The Thief and the Cobbler, The Sweatbox which is a documentary on the unreleased Disney film called Kingdom of the Sun which ultimately became The Emperor’s New Groove, if you’d like Saber, I’ll send you an email on a lot of these, because they truly are wonderful and fascinating documentaries on animation
brownies? "See the Midwestern chocolate fudge brownie as it emerges from its baking pan sanctuary. It may have started its existence as batter in a humble oven, but now it has metamorphosed into a beautiful baked treat. Truly breathtaking."
Man I found Saber through that. I’m happy he evolved his content. I never finished truly just a flash point in my life came and went no enduring emotions. Just happy people can grow.
@sewgeekdesigns9113 Look, some bronies were.... weird, BUT! This show was awesome to the point I argue with my husband that the ponies can defeat the chaos gods from Warhammer 40k
Honestly the “Let’s Go Meet the Bronies” segment is a much better intro and representation of the fandom then this janky doc as a whole. Plus it’s sung, by the voice of Discord!!
Hey Saberspark, You might watch The Lion King 1 1/2 This film is hilarious, funny, great, crazy, cute, wonderful and beautiful. This is Timon & Pumbaa’s perspective story where they both met Simba in the 1994 film. Timon’s Mother sounded like Marge Simpson from The Simpsons.
I just remembered the kind of bad attitude he had with people putting some of the clips on UA-cam back in the day. I already had a bad initial meeting with DeLancie at EQLA, but he was a sweet person when it came to poetry...
Oh i'm first early before anyone And since i'm here can you watch Eleanor's Secret [2009] that French-italian film, it was not well known and i think it would be perfect for Summer Let's Watch And maybe can you review film?
When are you going to make a video about that streaming service that now allows users to generate whole entire episodes of South Park using only prompts? You should talk about it. Is this the end of filmmaking and animation as we know it?
6:20 Just not Israel! I know that the document was created years ago, but after what is happening in Palestine, I remember everything that is happening (And how they stole Yemeni children)
Who's the person who thought that making a documentary film about the Brony fandom was a good idea? Who ever made this only covered the parts the fandom WANTS people to see, and not the parts that people NEED to see. The rampant narcissism, the bastardization of the source material, and its infamous & unchecked history of producing M.A.P.s on a daily basis. Why you and ACRacebest decided to associate yourselves with this diseased cesspit of deviency, betrayal, dispair, and corruption will forever be a mystery. One more thing: if anyone other than Saberspark or ACRacebest want to reply to this, DON'T! I want to hear from them & OLNY them! Everyone else will be ignored.

I love the new channel icon! Glad Rishi is on there.
I remember the YTP of this doc. But man this stinks of that 2010s era nerdcore that defined that era. All they're missing is Patton Oswalt
There should be a national geographic documentary about brownies with David Attenborough narrating it.
brownies?

@derekstein6193 I think they meant bronies but it instead being about brownies is just 10x funnier lol
I remember a guy randomly telling me about MLP when I was in high school. In retrospect, I guess he tried to convert me to Brony-ism?

OMG i remember this! Wasnt there also another lesser known one made by Ashleigh Ball?
I had to stop and walk away from that one when someone they interviewed said that bronies happened because of 9/11
Saber made a pony documentary too.
By what name are you known?
There are some who call me... 'Tim'?
I was there... the battle fields of /co/, homestuck OCs dead on alicorn horns....good times
The only way how I knew about this was that Dumbsville did a video on it.

Does this documentary discuss the Pony Jar mythos? 😂
Wonder if they will ever watch Sinbad or Dreamworks other movies.
