It's also because a ton of people use to(some still currently) use ai to make fake movie posters where a main lead would be at the focal position with the rest of the cast in the background, so it kinda derived the pattern from there.
Saw an ai user on twitter go "glad to know ur gonna be jobless" to an artist who alr lost their job but yk what's crazy, the ai users won't have jobs either if their literal boss can open their dumb ass program. No one is winning. It's not hard at all. It has nothing on real art.

The quick scene at 25:15 is just haunting. A boy with chicken stuff hanging out of his gaping mouth under his tongue as he pants and his tongue bounces. His eyes are soulless and fleshy, but you still sense an unsettling joy in his face, as if he's in a euphoric state. As soon as you see him, you see someone else haphazardly attach a jiggling orb of cheese to his philtrum, his soulless-yet-expressive face moving as if to allow them to do so, before it just cuts away to the next nightmare. The clip was less than a second, but within it alone, I have witnessed body horror so disturbing that it is literally was beyond human conception and creation. In all seriousness, AI has horror potential.
I have actually seen a horror series that uses ai art. They use actual man-made animations too though and there's a lot more effort in the series beyond that. It's called Liminal Land if you're interested.
Someone in the chat suggested architects would start using AI to design soon, and I can only imagine some Winchester-Escher disaster without bathrooms.
Tbf i have seen this from actual clients while doing 3d visualization. I got some rough sketches of a house that didn't have a bathroom, and another one where the bathroom had wall-sized windows where you could see the toilet from the street. (I just mention these kind of things to the clients, and then they decide if they want to change their project. Most of the time they tell me to "leave it as it is") Edit: these weren't made using AI, since it was before AI got public
(Like that one vine clip) GEE, I SURE HOPE THEY USE AI TO MAKE BUILDINGS THAT’LL LOOK LIKE JENGA TOWERS (sarcasm) Using AI for fictional images is one thing, but designing ACTUAL BUILDINGS that could be REAL SAFETY HAZARDS should absolutely be BANNED, NO EXCEPTIONS
And this was all taking place in night city somehow (cyberpunk 2077 for those unaware) and Thomas the tank engine showed up to give a lesson about being kind to each other before sprouting wings and breathing fire along with a loud train whistle after they all reject his lesson
And then Gandalf the grey and Gandalf the white and the Monty python and the holy grails black knight, then Benito Mussolini and the blue meanie and cowboy Curtis and Jambi the genie, And Robocop the terminator, captain kirk and Darth Vader, Lo Pan, super man and every single power ranger alongside Bill S. Those people are advertising themselves as scam artists or telling companies “I’ll gladly accept to be paid 2 bucks an hour to make a.i. art 4 ur company”
It's more like calling yourself a chef by taking an already-prepped frozen dinner and heating it up in a microwave. It would have been more satisfying to prepare it yourself, but you decided to save time instead.
The McDonald’s one seems intentionally horrifying and I kinda love it This is what AI should be used for, scaring ppl. It’s creating imagery so horrifying that humans couldn’t create or fathom it. True body horror.
I know the techbro mindset because I was nearly one of thse people at one time. (early in my highschool days, so it gives you a sense of maturity level associated with it). These people dont value art, they see artists as adult children. Crayons are something that kids use, not adults. Their only interaction with other artists are what they see in media. Like sit coms. If there is a character on screen that is an "artist" it's usually played off for laughs. "Oh he's an ARTIST they are having their exhibition in the gallery!" "why yes... I tape spoons together... that is my AAAARRRRRTTT" (que laugh track)
Yeah I was once an AI "artist" also. I picked up art after being frustrated with how little control AI offers, and how bad the images look. Talking to artists helped too - they helped me see things from a different perspective. What I have learnt is that the point of art is not to make beautiful-looking artworks. It is to express oneself. So people who gets into AI art are getting into art for the wrong reason - they just want to see high quality garbage. But all that means nothing ifnyou don't put your heart and soul into it
The problem is "AI" is looking at a pile of JPEGs and smearing all the images together with interpolation because it can only look at what it's seeing as static 2D images. It has no context. Noodles has an excellent video about it.
@FrostyFoxDrake Yeeeah...if anything, Generative AI is still an warrant for concern and a strong reason to get this stuff regulated. Even if any of these remains shoddy, once it gets to the point where its "good enough" for corporate executives, *that's* when they start outsourcing :C (It's already happened in some sections of work)
@@moddrew546 They would have to change the law because anything that isnt made by a human cannot be copyrighted. Corporates will just try to hide it but will be under threat from the justice system. Just like Midjourney is right now and trying to hide their tracks. We've won a court case over something as stupid as a monkey's rights to their own photo, Im sure this will blow over well for artists and their consent.
I'm scared of AI art. Not because I think it could ever really mimic real human art. I scared the big corporations are dumb enough to think AI art is good enough and replace art with this garbage
No patience, no passion, no talent, just wild jealousy that actual artists can create art, while all they can do is prompt a machine to spit something out for them, since they're incapable of creation. It's really sad and laughable how they try to perceive themselves as actual close to an artist.
Honestly, that's the reason why doing it yourself is better than letting a computer do it's work since you know what you want to draw and specifically create the details and design of your artwork..
@@beabea5985 it’s annoying when lazy ppl become jealous of ppl who put work and effort in, and feel entitled to the benefits of the work of others or benefits they haven’t earned. They’re an embarrassment as ppl, and I hope their sloth catches up to them.

the virgin "real" art fan: -wastes time -a tendinite and it's over -no future the chad AI enjoyer: -prompting takes actual writing skills -constantly on the grind, can't waste time on baby drawing shit -actually gets paid
Out of morbid curiosity, I tried to generate some art. Not only did most results look off but I had to be extremely specific with word choice to get any decent results. It's not hard to do. It's just a lot of trial and error. Just pay an artist for art.
It is good for very novice things and good for memes, concepts, and generally images if they’re supposed to be simplistic in nature. But I do find that funny, because people will act like Ai currently is killing artists, yet at the same time doing nothing to them. With how it stands, simple art, just get Ai to do. More complicated or personal works such as original characters, lots of interaction with the environment, or multiple people? Commission it.
Literally the majority of the Japanese-based AI art really just looks like.....plastic lol. It all comes out with the similar....plastic feel XD. Like GRANTED you can be specific for it to not be....but a MAJORITY of brain-dead AI users aren't that specific and their things always come out as plastic. Even ones that are purely backgrounds.
It looks better the more images you train it on but finding images that the creators are fine with you using for AI is difficult since there aren't really any websites for that purpose to compile those pieces of art together for ease of use. This is mostly because a lot of people who do AI art or create generators do not care about what the artists want or don't want.
Not all of us have money to burn man, and commissions can be stupid expensive. Sometimes it’s worth it to just self teach yourself or follow tutorials instead.
23:00 - 27:58 This ai-generated McDonald's ad made my skin itch from how terrifying it was. This is the reason why artists don't like AI, because it steals from them and combines it to make it look like an eldritch abomination.
Did it really make you itch, cause myself and my mom are the only ones I know that physically itch and are uncomfortable from some of the ai stuff. I've never seen anyone else mention itching. XD
@@AG-hx6qn Yes, when I see something that is generated by AI, I itch. I've never knew anyone who had that same reaction to AI Art. Guess I'm not alone 🤷♀️
Ai deepfakes aren’t animation. Animation is a type of creative medium, and that means it has freedom, like art. I had a phase where I made Lego animations and once made a silly Lego fight scene that was really fun to do, which had creativity and freedom, so it was (sorta)art. A image a robot made talk that follows none of Walt Disney’s rules has no freedom, which means it is not an animation. Besides, Animation done by the average Joe or Jane has soul, whether it’s a animation meme, a stick fight or a “Goanimate Caillou gets grounded” video. This robot has no soul, it’s lines of code. Edit: 21:30 Did they just stuff Stephen Fry’s voice into an AI machine(Stephen is the narrator for Little Big Planet, one of my childhood games)
The only good thing about AI art in my opinion is it'll get rid of those annoying people who slips into your DM and says, "Hi! I love your art! It's so cool. I've been following you for a long time and I would love it if you draw something for me please ❤🥺! Money? What? I thought art was your passion, but I guess I was wrong, I didn't know you were so greedy. 😒". Now those people can AI generate the art they want instead of annoying/guilt tripping artists. Those people would have never paid an artist for art in the first place. I straight up had someone go into my DMs and asked me to turn a book they like into an animated movie, for free. Bruhhhh...
hey, I didn't have any of these asshats for a while, you may be onto something. The funny bit is that I always replied tthat hey can pop by one of my free sketch streams where I do quick pencil sketches for free, and THEY NEVER DO.
The last part was straight up RIDICULOUS, what were this mf thinking when he asked you that? An entire animated movie, for FREE??? That's crazy, that person's INSANE
I actually love it. You can tell they used the AI for the sheer fact it can be uncanny and terrifying. They don’t seem to be using the AI as an excuse to not work, rather as supplement what they’re trying to make. It feels like they’re actually using it as a tool. I feel like using real life footage is more ethical than drawn art, and if they still credited the sources they took from, it would probably be fine.

That MacDonald's advert reminded me of the "Elon Musk eating spaghetti" thing my friends made for a laugh with AI. There was one frame where the AI switched his face out for Donald Trump's face. And Elon was stuck in a mass of giant spaghetti that was halfway clipped into a wall at some point. It had the lot of us laughing our asses off,
That first ad with the lemonade was so abysmal on so many levels. you know, once upon a time I'd considered going into marketing, but decided against it when I realized I'd have to stifle my moral compass (and produce soulless art). And lo, I would have been replaced by a soulless machine anyway!
Good on you for recognizing the flaws in the industry before investing into it - speaking as someone who *didn't* make that connection, it's...well, upsetting is accurate, but an understatement
The best marketing, I think, is the kind that doesn't manipulate people and strives for soul and personality. Which is the kind you're not supposed to do, because it's too risky in that industry. It's a sad, pathetic, cynical counter-intuition. I applaud you for your decision.
The McDonald’s one reminds me of this one creepypasta I read one time about aliens that create this Eldritch fast food chain (and also slowly replace all produce in stores) that hypnotizes people into eating this nightmarish slop that turns them into breeding pods for the aliens’ cattle.

@galaxyjam3742 It doesn't make me feel that way though. I'm one of those "full tilt into the future" people who wants to see the limits of the technology. This is coming from someone with credits in both traditional and digital art, and a degree in graphic design. I like playing with ai programs as much as I do the Adobe sweet (or the free equivalent now adays) and I also love seeing that people with physical limitations who can't pick up a pen or brush can still make their ideas come to life by picking prompts and programs. I understand the many issues and concerns ai creates but it's still just a tool at the end of the day, until the robots take over the world of course.
I find it pretty sad and ironic that there's a lot of AI art on Deviantart right now, because I recall that a few years ago they're saying they're going to do something about AI art and would go on about how it's bad because it actually steals art from actual artists and mashes them together based on user input prompts. What's more sad is that ten years ago or so, I read a Deviantart article about how no matter how advanced machines would become, humans would always beat them when it comes to creativity. Someone once told me back in high school that machines would become more creative than humans, because "why think for yourself when a robot would do all the thinking for you?" As an artist myself, I worry that it might be a possibility, one that may erode everyone's critical thinking skills for years to come.
13:58 that’s actually pretty close. What I assume is happening is that most children’s CG animated movies these days are extremely bright and colorful, so that’s what the majority of the samples are. If you’ve never seen blue, you probably can’t imagine what it looks like
i'm 24 minutes in and nothjng so far has been funnier than "For your dreams. Of taking your order right. Might just take an unexpected turn" which implies they will not be getting your order right at all
LOL If typing into an AI generator is art, then the artist is the AI itself. Whoever is the person who wants something from the AI is more like the commissioner who donates money to get an artist to make something. Only asking and demanding material without work or paying. This fun thing to play and somebody has to make a profit out of it. AI can help, but as art... Nah.
It’s hilarious that people think they can become rich making AI images or can get a high paying job in the industry. Artists already don’t get paid enough, what makes you think commissioners will give you THOUSANDS of dollars to type prompts when the whole point of AI is to avoid hiring people?
The one thing that I find very disturbing about AI generated videos is that everything is moving as one entity. There is no sequence of the people approaching an object and then picking it up. It just appears in their hand or worse you see the object and their hand morph into the object, and for a period of time, the hand and the object are one. Then they are suddenly holding it. There's no object permanence, and neither are there set boundaries in between the things you see in the image. It's just gelatin it morphs and colors into what you prompted it to do. The AI has a very oneiric quality where if you've ever had a vivid dream and the dream change drastic halfway through with no rhyme or reason. However, these shots and movements are the stuff of fever dreams.
just wanted to point this out, the Hazbin Hotel section was so unbearable to watch that the most replayed section was the end of the HH AI content farm videos lmao
I am someone who frequently draws picture, characters and monsters and in my humble oppinion ai art or ai in general shouldn't be used to make fully ai animated movies or art but i feel like accepting ai being used for personal refference to make a rough sketch and then complete it yourself.
As an artist I do see AI "art" as a tool that can be used for gathering inspiration or reference images, but I know that it will never just be used as that. On the topic that it's stealing its body from artists, I totally agree, but everyone is inspired by another's work, everything we do is taken from others. Now, the way it gets the art to train its program is completely unethical. Just because an artist posts something online doesn't automatically make it free use, everyone should be paid fairly for the use of their images. AI art is not art in the moral sense. Human made art will not die out as long as true artists love their craft.
@@mushyroom9569 I should have clarified, I was speaking more in the opinion terms on that. Free use for human training is completely fine, but you can't really moderate if the AI is creating something that is going to turn a profit.

As an artist, I’ll sometimes have ai generate a color palette or a prompt for me to use. I originally tried using it for poses, but it messed up body proportions so much I couldn’t use it for that. It’s a tool, but sadly a tool that’s fallen into the wrong hands

the reason the mouths are so weird at 13:28 is because it’s probably not part of the actual “animation”. It looks like they used a still ai image and then used one of those ai lip-syncing apps that basically generates fake mouth movement from real faces for still images. Those apps are usually meant for real pictures though so it looks weird when done with a cartoon
I have nothing against Ai if it's being used for laughs, ideas, or helping to improve your own art style. What annoys me is people calling themselves artists just because you use Ai to do the whole work for you.
at 3:36 I could see using it as inspiration; in college I sometimes will use Chat GPT to guide me in research projects for what areas in my topic I could explore. Like it will list the common traits associated with it, and I can jot them down and then do my own independent research.
3:30 That's basically like 3D printing. It's great for prototyping, but often it isn't ideal for final production. AI artwork is great for brainstorming ideas, but not (yet) something really great for a final product.
Spending hours writing deliberate stories and articles, or hack away editing at the same word salad for an ultimately luck-based generation. The latter has no competition, it's tough by pure tedium and guessing
@@BinglesP You have to be able to judge good writing to pick the output. The most powerful users of AI will be those who could do it themselves, but slower.

.............And people thought that this would end up replacing hard working writers and animators in the film industry? It's no wonder we had a big strike with this not too long ago!!! You take one good look at this, and you're in an artificial nightmare!!
AI can make horror movies alright! I also like how tongue in cheek the text in the ads is. The Hasbin stuff, though, looks and sounds like a fanfic a couple 14 year olds would make and animate for fun. It has the typical hallmarks: shipping, characters dumbed down and acting like they are in Family Guy, random events that just happen. It can be fun when it's just friends messing around, smacking characters together like they are dolls, but making a content farm out of it? Seems pretty sketchy.
Unfortunately, AI art and animation will mainly be used for negative stuff. It tricks old people and kids. My mother occasionally sends stuff she likes on Facebook to me. The past 2 month, she's been sending me AI art, but she believes it's real pictures. It's.... It's sad.... Not only that, some groups online, they share cool houses/designs, now it's filled with fake AI houses/designs. At a glance, it looks fine, but then you realize, why is there a woodstove next to the bath, with no door or chimney? And why is there snow on the inside of the window? Now I can't enjoy those groups anymore.
I still don't like the semantics people use for AI art "stealing" from other people. Meanwhile people do the same thing by looking directly at other people's art and making art based on their creations, sometimes even using the pose of the original art. And no I'm not talking about tracing, because that isn't the same thing AI is doing either, usually it just makes similar art but not an exact traced copy (unless you specifically tell it to try to copy the art as much as possible). But there are real life artists that use information aka data (not all data is personal information can we stop treating data as an evil word simply because some companies steal information about people using data, not all data is like that though) from the original art to create art that is based on existing art, yet no one says that's stealing the original art. But for some reason when a machine does it then you're "stealing" by not getting explicit permission from the original artist. I don't really get what makes what you're copying what someone else made with your hands and eyes different from when an AI does the same thing. If AI had hands would it be different? Like if AI had actual eyes, looked at an image and drew something similar with actual hands would that somehow be different than it doing the exact same thing with stored files? Like is that not what we do with our own memories, store data into our brains, and then output that data as art. Sometimes using inspiration from existing art... like AI is doing when it stores files to use as the template for it's prompt?
I desperately need a company to make an ad that looks like AI and is the same level of unhinged as AI Black Mirror but isn't actually AI. For a super bowl commercial. Bring back the unhinged.
the thing about that dogshit AI lord of the rings trailer too is like... NOTHING IS HAPPENING. LITERALLY NOTHING! It's just a bunch of photos that looks like they've added that weird 3D panning filter over it. I can't fathom how AI bros think that looks even remotely interesting
13:28 holy crap, they used the old Conan O'Brien Arnold Schwarzenegger joke to animate the mouth. I know it was used in old cartoons to animate mouths, but the Conan gag was the first thing to come to mind.

Most of the time they tell me to "leave it as it is")

But all that means nothing ifnyou don't put your heart and soul into it
That “Uhhhh… sure?” Was so uncertain. She knew a rabbit hole was opening up and she debated jumping in.
She was brave for ultimately choosing to, though, because this world is nuts.
The problem is "AI" is looking at a pile of JPEGs and smearing all the images together with interpolation because it can only look at what it's seeing as static 2D images. It has no context. Noodles has an excellent video about it.
Hence the shitty hands and mushing into backgrounds.
Unfortunately, Sora is a bit more advanced than that now
@FrostyFoxDrake Yeeeah...if anything, Generative AI is still an warrant for concern and a strong reason to get this stuff regulated.

Honestly, that's the reason why doing it yourself is better than letting a computer do it's work since you know what you want to draw and specifically create the details and design of your artwork..

Out of morbid curiosity, I tried to generate some art. Not only did most results look off but I had to be extremely specific with word choice to get any decent results.
It's not hard to do. It's just a lot of trial and error.
Just pay an artist for art.
I dabbled out of curiosity too. The whole experience just felt so shallow to me.

Bruhhhh...

25:00 it’s definitely an ai voice. Nobody says “no problema” like that 💀
The one thing that I find very disturbing about AI generated videos is that everything is moving as one entity.

There's a lot of talking points about how art, cinema, etc is dying. A.I. will only amplify that problem.
Okay the Black Friday one terrified me but also I couldn't stop laughing.
If you post something online, then that makes it open for fair use. Training or education is fair use.

3:30 That's basically like 3D printing. It's great for prototyping, but often it isn't ideal for final production. AI artwork is great for brainstorming ideas, but not (yet) something really great for a final product.
"Typing in words... so tough" - And thousands of writers flinched.
As someone who has been to one or two Black Friday events, I can say that commercial is a pretty spot on depiction. Also, I need that cactus that shout daily motivation at me.
.............And people thought that this would end up replacing hard working writers and animators in the film industry? It's no wonder we had a big strike with this not too long ago!!! You take one good look at this, and you're in an artificial nightmare!!
The people in the McDonald’s AI commercial remind of the thugs you’d fight in the Batman Arkham series lol
The AI Black Friday commercial, scares me…😓😰
AI can make horror movies alright!
SpongeBob did the same exact thing... putting Pat Pinney's mouth onto Painty during the older opening title sequence. A tactic that's a bit Creepy and also very gaudy.
12:01 I saw that shot and went, "THAT'S THE FREAKING MATRIX"
AI animations is like spending pennies, and seeing what comes out.
