Makes you wonder if Kratos regrets killing all the Greek Gods... i definitely think he does.. The first line in God of War 3 is “My vengeance... ends now...” but now he’s saying even after killing all the Greeks, he still has no peace. Not to mention, Hel is supposed to torture people with their past. Baldur is tortured and regrets not killing his mother in his illusions. Atreus/Loki is tortured with killing Modi and doesn’t remember acting that way and regrets doing so in his illusion.... but Kratos... He’s tortured with reliving him killing Zeus, I think it’s implied he regrets killing his father.. I mean, why wouldn’t he be tortured with killing his original family? If Kratos didn’t regret killing Zeus then that illusion wouldn’t have fazed him at all and wouldn’t be used to torture him. And then of course, him quoting Zeus by saying the cycle of killing parents ends now. The developers are clearly implying Zeus regrets killing his fellow Greek Gods.

She said that the runes foretold a needles death when he was born, and her every attempt to avert that future just brought it closer to fruition, a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Also on a side note, freya shouldnt've been able to use the frost giants breath to try and "freeze" atreus and kratos. She can't use magic or physical attacks to harm others or even defend herself. Unless she gets her wings back.
Kratos could've just cut off Baldur's arms or broke some body parts when he had that chance that'll render him paralyzed then put him in chains so he can have a moment to calm down and think about everything....that'd be a smart move

Seriously, I need to see/know what happens next in this story. (Obviously I know Ragnarok is coming but I need to see how it plays out through Kratos’ eyes). One of the best game I have ever played. Game of the Year for sure, it’s not even debatable, idc if Elder Scrolls 6 drops out of the sky tomorrow, this game is still GOTY...
@@mistermarathon2046 I really don't know, but I think this new series will follow the footsteps of the previous one and save the destruction of the gods (Ragnarok) as the final act, the third game. But then again it could just be that it won't be a trilogy, it will be two games, in that case you will probably be right
in hindsight Baldur really could've just left after getting stabbed with the mistletoe he got what he always wanted but was to far gone and lost in revenge n madness to get it. So he really did brought it upon himself
So, i haven't played this yet (my order hasn't arrived yet), but after seeing the vid, the reason Baldur's hate to Freya is because she blessed/cursed him with the invincibility against anything (saves the mistletoe) out of motherly love, but in turns it made him insane because he doesn't feel anything at all?
Runes foretold that Baldur would die, and to prevent it, she took word from every rock, every bird, every animal, every fish and every plant (minus mistletoe), that none of them will bring harm to Baldur, which ended with Baldur not being able to feel absolutely anything. What's the point of immortality if you can't even enjoy it? That's the reasoning of Baldur to hate his mother.
Erry Purnawan That's pretty much it, really. Freya's fear for Baldur's "needless" fate caused her to act on impulse, since according to Mimir, Baldur's birth was the only good thing that Odin ever gave Freya during their marriage (that truly mattered, anyway). On one hand, Baldur is literally immortal, but on the other... absolutely batshit because he would rather die than not know physical feeling.
@michael browne He killed Magni (he could have killed Modi too but he let him run away). We don't know yet how is he going to deal with the likes of Thor, Odin, and Freya. He can take on Baldur without his "cheat code" aka hax mode until Freya interfered.
Kratos in Disney and Kingdom Hearts era will be cursed into his late teens where he lost most,if not all,of his godlike strengh, powers, skills, and abillities there.
Playing this boss I felt so proud of Atreus he has grown so much morality and in strength not even just Atreus, his relationship with kratos. I actually felt like his father playing through this game. This game is fucking amazing !!
3:37 Only if Kratos could share his memories with Baldur It'll make Baldur's suffering feel like nothing Rage, resentment, vengeance, and revenge. Kratos at one point lived for all of that only.
In the end, i think Freya herself understands why Kratos killed Baldr, she is terribly sad that it had to end this way for her son, but as Mimir says, she'll come around, she might not forgive Kratos easily, but i'm sure she won't feel any anger toward him either.
Who knows how old Baldur was at this point, a lifetime of missed sensations, the first loss, the first love, all of those things, he is experiencing all those things, but never truly experiencing them, he lost the chance of growth, he lost the chance of living life, and now that he has that chance, the first thing the one responsible does is try to take that from him. He didn't have anything to really live for because he didn't know how it felt to live.
I feel so bad for Freya... At 18:09, she begged Atreus to stop them and even him did nothing. That hurts! Really... you can feel the pain in her voice.
Man All those baldur madness let me realize one thing . When you have no supportive family. You're just mad about everything. Like they stole the lifetime from you. Good job God of War Corey barlog
I fucking love this fight. The Kratos/Arteus combos were badass. Baldur and Kratos just relentlessly wailing on each other. Baldur’s final world, being happy with being able to finally feel something. It was incredible
Just noticed Freya actually says “Why won’t you listen to me?!” in the final stage of the fight. Bruh do you not see Kratos and his boi defending themselves against your son because you raised him into a monster who had never experienced feelings or emotions except anger and revenge for around a hundred years knowing the way to break the spell but nooooooooo you just had to put your needs first because runes you saw prophesied his death, so you turning him into a suicidal, maniacal, monster was the better option.
This was by far some of the most epic final boss fights in gaming! I only which we could have an option to play a remastered version of “Brothers of Blood” in this fight.
Like others have said, Baldur is a full fledged God. He's the son of freaking Odin. He's powerful. And I'd wager that even Thor Feared Baldur since Baldur was invincible to even Thors Hammer. I suspect that Thor is not nearly as grandiose without the power of the Hammer Mjolnir giving him more abilities. And yes, even Thor was unable to knock out Jormungandr. Given this FACT, I'd say Baldur is Physically more powerful, but Thor has more actual power (and powers). But they are both terrifying to be sure
Freya really has a problem. When Kratos robbed Freya of her son, she says that he robbed everything from her. No parents should be like that : the only thing in life that matters is their child. She became obssessed with her child, and when she heard the prophecy, she made everything possible to not make it happens. While I understand that parents will try to protect their children, Freya's method is definitely the worst (second worst would be the extreme opposite : not caring/protecting at all, which could lead the child to build himself). The things I think could have corrected this are : -Odin caring more about Freya (as the comments pointed out, Baldur was the only good thing that came out of the marriage. If Odin cared more about her, maybe she wouldn't have been so obssessed with Baldur, and not try to make the prophecy not happen) -Freya thinking a little more clearly (that way, she could have seen that being made immortal and unable to feel anything would be a bad combo. The bad experiences are important in the growth of people) Maybe there's other stuff too, but I didn't notice them.

Seriously, I need to see/know what happens next in this story. (Obviously I know Ragnarok is coming but I need to see how it plays out through Kratos’ eyes). One of the best game I have ever played. Game of the Year for sure, it’s not even debatable, idc if Elder Scrolls 6 drops out of the sky tomorrow, this game is still GOTY...
this is exactly how I feel, fam. I CANT wait until the next sequel. God of War: Ragnarok
Mister Marathon i think thats going to be the third game
cmox you think so? What do you think the second game will be called?
@@mistermarathon2046 I really don't know, but I think this new series will follow the footsteps of the previous one and save the destruction of the gods (Ragnarok) as the final act, the third game. But then again it could just be that it won't be a trilogy, it will be two games, in that case you will probably be right
Norse is boring
19:00 that Father son combo is so badass
Atreus: "So you'd let me kill you ?"
Kratos: "If it meant you would live, Yes."
in hindsight Baldur really could've just left after getting stabbed with the mistletoe he got what he always wanted but was to far gone and lost in revenge n madness to get it. So he really did brought it upon himself
It looked like for a moment he was about to thank Kratos and Atreus
The biggest challenge in God of War
Putting up with Freya during this fight
23:44 The kind of threat my mum gives me when I refuse to eat my veggies
Kyrian Yao funny XD
:)
@@icelandiccubicle3418 no you need meat to grow big and strong you need veggies to stay alive and be healthy
Kratos: hits baldur
Baldur: harder daddy
Kratos: what
Freya: what
Atreus: I don't get it
Giant serpent: that's it I've see enough good luck killing him
*Slithers away*
Knowing more how much Freya suffered in Odin's court, her statement "I have paid..." hurts so much more.
Yep.
He can't even feel pleasure, which sucks since he's immortal.
Erry Purnawan kind of was a double-edged sword right there
Runes foretold that Baldur would die, and to prevent it, she took word from every rock, every bird, every animal, every fish and every plant (minus mistletoe), that none of them will bring harm to Baldur, which ended with Baldur not being able to feel absolutely anything.
This entire fight was one massive action movie, it was so good
When Baldur enters a KFC his menu will only have 1 Food with a combo
1.mistletoe with a father son combination
Kratos in his 20s would break Baldur's arm or chop off his whole shoulder
Then proceed to mercissley beat him with it
And then bang his mom...what?
@michael browne do you mean Baldur from the games or the original mythos? Cuz he clearly died in both.
Atreus is a freaking boss
Kratos's trademarked parenting at it's finest lol
He is the next god of war as kratos is dead..
Who is atreus??
I know of BOI.
@@sujansitaula4948 kratos has died before.
Ikr like that tag team was so fucking hype, I lost my shit at that
Man, that scene with Baldur walking ashore gave me chills combined with the music.
18:52 is one of the most hype I’ve ever been during a video game
Playing this boss I felt so proud of Atreus he has grown so much morality and in strength not even just Atreus, his relationship with kratos. I actually felt like his father playing through this game. This game is fucking amazing !!
I love how Freya got scared af when Kratos turned his head to her. Like if she knew and remembered in an instant who he really is
18:57 teamwork makes the dream work
Is it an understatement that I say that Chris Judge is a great voice actor?
Obviously
Whi’s he potray?
Tyson Kratos.
Teal'c
"The cycle ends here." Exactly what Zeus said to Kratos when he stabbed him with the Blade of Olympus.
3:37
Only if Kratos could share his memories with Baldur
It'll make Baldur's suffering feel like nothing
Rage, resentment, vengeance, and revenge. Kratos at one point lived for all of that only.
Except the problem is that Baldur wasn't in his right mind. After a century of being able to feel nothing at all, he had gone insane
@@jasonking7570 well kratos losed all his family and sparta to gods
@@RalveXly he wasn't insane tho
@@skittles664 Was Kratos a normal and reasonable person in the og games tho?
In the end, i think Freya herself understands why Kratos killed Baldr, she is terribly sad that it had to end this way for her son, but as Mimir says, she'll come around, she might not forgive Kratos easily, but i'm sure she won't feel any anger toward him either.
Fast forward to the beginning of ragnarok 🤣
And in that cutscene where Freya is freed from Odin's whatever (great scene, gave me chills when she said "anger")
He’s probably like over 100 years old
I honestly feel bad for Baldur though. Imagine the suffering he went through at the cost of being immune to all damage, physical or magical
Just finished the game recently. I love the little tag team moment Kratos and Atreus have
"Why wont you die!?"
Kratos: Story of my life
I feel so bad for Freya... At 18:09, she begged Atreus to stop them and even him did nothing. That hurts! Really... you can feel the pain in her voice.
2 years later and the part where Atreus stands stands in front of Kratos still makes me choke up. Can't wait for the second installment!
When Freya cursed Kratos
Athena: “Yeah, go get ‘im girl”
Man
All those baldur madness let me realize one thing .
When you have no supportive family.
You're just mad about everything. Like they stole the lifetime from you.
Good job

I fucking love this fight. The Kratos/Arteus combos were badass. Baldur and Kratos just relentlessly wailing on each other. Baldur’s final world, being happy with being able to finally feel something. It was incredible
It was all his mother's fault , a parent is responsible for what their child become and then she blamed kratos for it
Vibhor Kumar typical wasteful bitch
Just noticed Freya actually says “Why won’t you listen to me?!” in the final stage of the fight. Bruh do you not see Kratos and his boi defending themselves against your son because you raised him into a monster who had never experienced feelings or emotions except anger and revenge for around a hundred years knowing the way to break the spell but nooooooooo you just had to put your needs first because runes you saw prophesied his death, so you turning him into a suicidal, maniacal, monster was the better option.
Never had i ever not wanted to kill the final boss this much
This was by far some of the most epic final boss fights in gaming! I only which we could have an option to play a remastered version of “Brothers of Blood” in this fight.
4:48
Baldur: "Get out of my way!"
Kratos: "no"
Baldur: Understandable, have a great day
I think that Freya has committed a crime by violating a corpse. She literally used it as a Mechsuit. Let the dead be in peace!
she didn't even hear him. he said do u have any idea what u have done? and all she sees is a baby boy. she's selfish. not everyone just her
18:53-19:06 Best scene
Atreus: so you'd let me kill you?
Kratos: if it meant you could live, yes.
*Gad damn*
Did anyone notice how his voice changed when he said to Atreus he's the Ghost of Sparta?. Like,double-echoed?
It sounded like an ancient god's .
16:32 It was at that moment Baldur realized he wasn't dealing with a Jötunn
The confusion in that "What?!" says it all
This final fight was alot better than Ragnaroks
"I bring down every agony imaginable upon you"
Kratos: Woman, you haven't seen nor felt what true agony is like.
This is way better than the finale of Ragnarok. Amazing game, but damn they shit the bed on the ending.
Freya - As I can't beat you then I will just curse you
Atreus kicking Baldur in the face was priceless
19:00 you don't, fuck, with, time!
Is nobody gonna talk about how Baldur knocked out the World Serpent when even Thor cant?
Can someone explain this? What did Baldur do?
He punched the snake in the tummy underwater, sneak attacc u see
He hurt
*THE B I G S N A E K*
he probably hit him in places where he would knock him out but not heart him like how Kratos sometimes knock out some of his opponents
@michael browne since when has thor destroyed a universe with a swing of his arm
Kratos kills Norse Jesus while the not-so-virgin Mary grows plants
I realized that Freya was kinda a Norse Karen.
Better than that Odin fight in my opinion
Freya: If killing me makes you happy... then-
Baldur: Hell yeah boy!
This made me wanna cry. Not the story the fact you were using the Axe when he was in his Ice form
Is it just me, or does 19:00 look like the scene in Civil War where Bucky and Cap beat the crap out of Iron man together?
Aniruddh Jammoria except better because it's gods
I was thinking the exact same thing bro
this is better
Freya really has a problem. When Kratos robbed Freya of her son, she says that he robbed everything from her. No parents should be like that : the only thing in life that matters is their child. She became obssessed with her child, and when she heard the prophecy, she made everything possible to not make it happens. While I understand that parents will try to protect their children, Freya's method is definitely the worst (second worst would be the extreme opposite : not caring/protecting at all, which could lead the child to build himself).
The things I think could have corrected this are :
-Odin caring more about Freya (as the comments pointed out, Baldur was the only good thing that came out of the marriage. If Odin cared more about her, maybe she wouldn't have been so obssessed with Baldur, and not try to make the prophecy not happen)
-Freya thinking a little more clearly (that way, she could have seen that being made immortal and unable to feel anything would be a bad combo. The bad experiences are important in the growth of people)
Maybe there's other stuff too, but I didn't notice them.
Its a game?
