Watching this. Mademe cry. Therr are many great series and great games out there. But halo will always have the most special place in my heart. Thank you for this video
My first ever game I played was Halo. My older brother got me, as a lil boy, playing it on his OG Xbox in the early 2000's. I've been with it ever since, and even after working with Keith David on a TV show not but two years ago - it still has an impact on me to this day as much as it did back then. Nothing's changed for my love of this series that's bonded not only me, my brothers - but my friends online and in person for over 20 years. A rich story and universe I know like the back of my hand, and ideas and imagery that inspire me in all creative pursuits. Halo isn't dead, brothers and sisters. It's merely misled, for Halo is beyond just the most current iteration of the series: It's a culmination of millions of people world wide bringing together one of the most amazing communities IN SPITE of the shepherds who try to corral our herd. It's always been the community. In Halo: CE, we both discovered the possibilities of split screen, and the ability to infect every school in the United States with a copy of the Custom Edition for local play. In Halo 2, we showed determination with both the vista edition mod scene, and how the servers did not die when they demanded it so, the players kept it going. For Halo 3, we did not merely finish the fight, we stomped it to the curb with over a million active players at launch - a legacy spanning the next 15 YEARS. In Halo 3 ODST we showed what it meant to make it our own - Cosplay, Music, Covers, Fan films. ODST has inspired many online and in real life. Halo Reach. Need I say anything? The peak of the multiplayer scene in terms of player count, active community, finding new friends, and content. (Before I catch hands, I'm a Halo 2 fanboy admitting this.) For those remaining to be mentioned, there are key points for our community for each one, yes, even 5. (Wars 1&2, 4, 5, MCC, Infinite - We don't talk about spartan assault or spartan strike) Anyway my point is to showcase the core of our community - the foundation for where we are, and have been for years. Be hopeful my friends. Halo is not dead, it will not return to where it came and it's fine to accept that, but we still have a fanbase that persists. Even if people have moved on to new pastures, many people trace their beginnings to Halo, and have a soft spot for it - there is a chance, and that's all we need, Hope.
My first halo game was halo 3. I remember I would go next door to my friends and play it all night. Eventually I got my own Xbox because of halo. I’ve played it since and played every halo game since. What made my Halo memories even more bitter sweet was my best friend took his own life, my group of friends all went their way and we all grew up. But when I load up halo infinite I can’t help but feel that same feeling I got when I first played halo. It’s all so real
So beautiful and powerful! Halo will go down in history as one of the most beautifully written stories in gaming! Halo will never be just a game. It's so, so much more.
Played halo when I was 5, my grandpa introduced it to me. Never did I know, that at that age what this game meant to the world, the dignity of gaming. Finished all the campaigns with my brother, besides reach. And each game shun light on a deeper and more honorable part of my heart. CE: never stop growing, Halo 2: you always need a partner. Halo 3: you need to learn what life truly is by sacrificing everything for your goals, and make a difference. Halo 4: there are enemies of yours everywhere, and they teach you to become stronger. Halo: 5, trash can be good for some people to learn from 😂. Infinite, honor is the aspect of doing everything right, and my personal favorite… Reach. It taught me you have a life to give and devote to your family, friends, your future, and that you really do never realize what you have until it’s gone. Thank you for this aspiring video, and I’m glad to see Halo fans still thriving,
I'm so glad even after 23 years and so amny games, all of them have beautiful momnets. Granted they are all not Pefect, but they still hold weight and meaning. They are all still great games!
The only other series that can make me, a full on grown man, bust out into full on tears other than Halo, is RDR and RDR2. No matter how many times I play either of these series all the way through, it always does it.
I'm not going to lie I just cried my whole child hood flashed before my eyes watching this and no I have a baby boy I get to relive these wonderful memories with
I first played Halo CE when I was 4 when my older brother got a Xbox for his birthday, after that we went on to play each installment as they released. He even got some of the books and filled me in on the extended universe; but ultimately looking back, this franchise really brought me up as a kid. ODST and Reach especially touched on themes and tones that I was barely able to comprehend by the age of 10, but regardless I knew they were meaningful. Even with the rough patches the series has gone through with the last few installments I’m still so thankful for the memories, friends, and experiences I’ve had as a fan of the games and they’ve undoubtedly shaped me more than any other video game or media I’ve ever consumed. I wouldn’t trade anything for the times I spent in multiplayer, forge, campaigns, and firefights for the past 20 years. Spartans never die.
The difference in writing quality between the Bungie & 343 eras cannot be understated. Some characters are just pure poetry and nothing is wasted during interactions. In my opinion, the arbiter is one of the most well written characters in any form of media, and the performance form Keith David is legendary.
every time I watch a "it's just a game" edit it always me feel nostalgia. I hope one day we can make it back to those days and show or kids how much fun video games used to be.
I have some hope for the next chapter in Halo's legacy with the studio changes but it will NEVER be the same, not because of just one thing and i don't know how to explain it but i just know because it was such a huge part of peoples life's childhoods etc. I'm just happy to see that we still have people to finish the fight, even if some people don't like the current state of Halo those fans aren't gone they're just missing in action, even if we didn't know each other thanks for the amazing memories and don't forget to give the Covenant back their bomb 🫡❤🔥🙏
Halo is what it is nowadays and it breaks my heart. Whenever I hear that nostalgic music or those memories from H3 and reach I lose it like I am right now. Even halo infinite with that quote from cheif brought me to tears when I first heard it and it still does. It just impacted me in so many ways. Halo helped me in my childhood so much the people etc. I can go on. I miss it and I wish I could go back. I ball my eyes out or tear up. You can judge me it's ok lol. And thank you to everyone who I made memories with and the rest of you even if we didn't play together 💚
I remember in 2009, Bungie went into an interview about Halo Reach. Jason Jones and Marty were there, and someone else (maybe Joeseph). The interviewer asked "why is all the technology more advanced than in CE?" and the devs said "it's just a video game"
Nah this ain’t just a game this is our childhood and that’s priceless. When I was a kid my mom said it’s just a game cuz I was raging in matchmaking playing halo3 at 9 yrs old and I was like “this is my lifeeeee!!”😂
I played Halo for the first time in 2021. Back then I was just another Fortnite kid who always put Fortnite as the first game, but when I entered the battlefield as a Spartan for the first time, I was excited. Of course, they kept killing me all the time, but after three years, Halo became a big part of me. I've played every campaign of the Halo games. I even became a member of the 405th Cosplay community. Halo is more than a game to me.
ITS NOT OVER YET! We carry all of this with us. From The Fall of Harvest to Chief jumping the warthog into the Spirit of Fire. Nothing beats this story.
it's mainly because of my oldest brother that pretty much using me and my little brother for target practice but it was till a few years later where i actually got to appreiate the campaigns n all but back story aside this was magnificent
I started with 3 and would be unable to finish it... but when I did, it felt as if I had finished more than a game, but an old tradition of fearing the end. As I finished CE in Legendary, I felt brave and continued to 2 and had a blast throughout it all. As I finished ODST and got to 3, I felt like the best ending. It carries a great deal of memories, and Reach was its farewell. Even when many people saw Halo Wars as a different feel to what Halo was it felt great and I'm grateful for Ensamble studios for this game to pave the way for all the future projects that were derived from them (and for creating the mega blocks figures that inspired the near finished lego rival). I feel down given how I didn't get the chance to enjoy the Online games and countless hours of meeting strangers to end up being second brothers... I got excited for its rich story and spent hours just looking through it all. When Halo 4 came and Chief armor changed, I felt something off but enjoyed it nevertheless (even with the knights bs). Once Halo 5 got announced, I felt something was wrong, but once it came out and it's issues it came clear that Halo had fallen into greed and loss of essence. When I layed eyes on Infinite, I had Hope, and it felt good, but something that I had craved for felt empty, like if the creative side that made Halo something big was missing. I'm hopeful but only wish Halo to receive the treatment it deserves as a pillar of my childhood. *Sorry for the rambling, but I'm grateful for this game for everything it's given me. And the countless memories I created with my family while playing. Let's hope Christopher Nolan shows us the best interpretation of Halo throughout its history the right way.
Its not just a game, its a legacy.

(Before I catch hands, I'm a Halo 2 fanboy admitting this.)
For those remaining to be mentioned, there are key points for our community for each one, yes, even 5.
(Wars 1&2, 4, 5, MCC, Infinite - We don't talk about spartan assault or spartan strike)
Anyway my point is to showcase the core of our community - the foundation for where we are, and have been for years.
5 minutes of just straight up feels.. I will always love Halo, even at its worst.
I love this franchise so much. I’ve been playing it since Six years old.

Halo was my everything. I was there for every 7/7, every beta, every up and every down. Goodbye, I can't take any more
Honestly, I hope they bring back Esparza/ The Pilot. I enjoyed his character.
That's at masterr chef cortna wedding
Ues bitt trash talking upur ssittes
More than a game, an experience, a memory, a community...
Man Halo isn’t just some game. It’s a monument, to all our sins.
cant wait to see whats in the future
the folks at halo-343-studios-industries are gonna do great
The only other series that can make me, a full on grown man, bust out into full on tears other than Halo, is RDR and RDR2. No matter how many times I play either of these series all the way through, it always does it.
Got clickbaited by the title and sat here for 5 mins with wave after wave of goosebumps. If only 4-on had that level or writing.
this is not just a game Halo Is a masterpiece
I've witnessed the rise and fall of this series. It was the most beautiful time of my life..
Seeing our SGT. Johnson fighting with the Elite over the Rifle and seeing the destruction of the Pillar Of Autumn is a wholesome moment
“Sorry I came alone, make me proud.”
I'm not going to lie I just cried my whole child hood flashed before my eyes watching this and no I have a baby boy I get to relive these wonderful memories with
our culture needs halo to come back right now
Yes it dose moder day halo best clasic pmas full midr ckasic maps yybrude
@ haha my bro are you drunk?
Halo builded our childhoods and our friendship at least mine.
Halo reminds me of the time when the world didn’t feel so lifeless and empty.
Yesvhev. Dose
It's actually a book too
Millions joined together through matchmaking and a great story 🫡 good to see so many of you Spartans years later
Like Spartans, Halo is never truly dead.
It's just missing in action.
This video is my childhood encapsulated. Solidified my brotherhood with those who started as friends. What a story⚔️
The only people left who get Halo are the fans.
every time I watch a "it's just a game" edit it always me feel nostalgia. I hope one day we can make it back to those days and show or kids how much fun video games used to be.
Oh my god. I nearly cried dude. Why 😭 I fucking love this game
Yeah it's just a Game... BUT WHY DO YOU HAVE TO MAKE ME CRY LIKE THIS???????
The writers for Halo Wars was fucking cookin
Halo legends move cover parties food altae c eating fod
Reach and halo 3 genuinely might be the greatest fps games of all time. Nothing can top it
I didn't expect to cry today but this video got me so well done.
“It’s only a game, why u haf to be mad?”
The interviewer asked "why is all the technology more advanced than in CE?"
and the devs said "it's just a video game"
We need type intervertebral with th e vampier halo game
@sharonbraselton3135 I don't follow, explain better?
@zalrohglekgolo6149 the intervertebral woth vapier pld move aboyt vanpiers
3:16 Brotherhood.
ITS NOT OVER YET! We carry all of this with us. From The Fall of Harvest to Chief jumping the warthog into the Spirit of Fire. Nothing beats this story.
This is why we can't let a reboot happen
Wrobg
Halo 1 to reach to this day are the greatest games and story to ever release
this is the highest qaulity thing 343 has made with halo
Don’t forget the bridge scene at halo 4s end
Halo isn’t dead, it’s missing in action. ❤
Makes you think
You wouldn’t repaint the Mona Lisa
it's mainly because of my oldest brother that pretty much using me and my little brother for target practice but it was till a few years later where i actually got to appreiate the campaigns n all but back story aside this was magnificent
I sincerely hope we’re just getting started.
I forgot that the Elite groped Johnson in that Easter Egg xD
What a send off of the 343 era. I’m excited for what’s to come.
Dude Halo CE, 3, Reach, and 4 needs to be remade with Blur Studio cutscenes
It's not just a game. It's a story, and you better remember that. Halo Studios better not F the reboot up.
Halo Infinite literally disappeared ALL OF THESE CHARACTERS. It's insane they thought we wouldn't mind.
It's just a game? No, it's the most epic space opera since Star Wars. Change my mind.
Yes it us
