Did you tried if it overheated on max mode?
used it on max mode for most of the skateboarding stuff and never had a problem, but the fans are definitely loud!

Watts doesn't measure light. Lumens does. Also, 400 bucks. Love how you think that's cheap. Everything's relative I guess.
Well I said "not insanely expensive" which I stand by, when I first started, this light was out of my budget. But as I and (hopefully my audience) grows in this craft I think we can all see how expensive filmmaking gear can get.
