man it is so great to see modern creatives actually being 'creative'! Doing things we used to do with cardboard and straws to make lighting equipment 10 years ago instead of just spending 1000000 euros on gear with no idea!!! Refreshingly cool!
Thanks for this, as a still photographer making the transition to video, and especially outdoors (mostly), I'm glad to have found this channel. There is some incredibly useful stuff here for guys like us. Thanks for sharing.
Insightful, well spoken, without drama, clean: your style goes against the grain of much of the youtuber industry - and I like it. Thank you for sharing!
I traveled to the Amazon last summer where I had to travel light and hardly had access to electricity. Your interview-style setup in nature would've helped me a ton and will help when I go back to these types of places. Thanks so much for your honesty and advice for new UA-camrs like myself who don't have the budget yet to buy big fancy studio lights. You've earned new a subscriber!
It's genius that you used the speedlight accessory to create soft lighting. Did you have someone hold it during your recording or did you used the lightstand?
Qj Tech Best budget lenses that are awesome are the Rokinon lenses. Don’t be afraid to purchase used gear, just a Rokinon Ciney lens used and it’s even better than my sigma 18-35. Sigma was 700 the rokinon was 300. You can get other used Rokinon lenses, doesn’t have to be ciney lens for around 200. If you’re using them for video just make sure you get the declicked aperture. Didn’t mean to answers Nigels question but I wish I could’ve had this tip before I spent 700 on the sigma, but the sigma is going to be the lens e lot of people recommend.
Yeah Rokinons are great! I had an entire m43 set at one point, the 12mm, 21mm and 50mm are great options! Alternatively the Panasonic 14mm, 25mm and 42.5mm are good options as well. It kinda depends on what focal length you need, if you want wife stuff for music videos then the 12mm or 14mm but a standard lens like the Panasonic 25mm (or 20mm f1.7) work really well for multiple situations, hope that helps!
Tammy Sypniewski thank you I appreciate a it lot ...I was thinking about getting those lenses but I was not sure if those lens where right lenses I to get...
NigelBarros that really help because I also make youtube video so by having lens that can do both that will be great lens...looking and some reviews of the 20- 1.7 mm it seam like a great option...for good blurry background to have more focus on Artis singing..
I really need your help ! I need a camera for shooting overhead cooking (so there will be little bit of steam / moister) videos, and some LED lights, I'm on budget, don't need 4K etc., please point me in the right direction, many thanks,
So, currently i dont own any light... So do you think taking this light, will be a perfect choice, like for all type of shots. A roll, b roll etc...? Pls replay 😊

Great review Nigel. I can't think of a better way to truly review something, than by taking it out in the field and showing us how useful it can be.
awesome light ...love helpful viedo and beautifull view where you live. love it.
Great overview as always, dude. Aperture kills it with the small power.

Nice review! I definitely see the benefits of using a small light for some unique situations. I do wish it was closer to the $80-$90 range though :(
