Supra TT Surprisingly making it wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be. I’ll be posting a drive by video of it here in a day or so. It definitley has a louder turbo flutter with the blow off valve now. I have got a check engine light either. Still have my fingers crossed that I don’t .
Supra TT Yeah as of now no check engine light there’s definitely more throttle response as well I’m not sure how that exactly works but my throttle response is a little more sensitive with having an aftermarket charge pipe on as well as having an intake. Also overall cost I bought an intake for an accord to do the 3 inch intake size upgrade and then use the 2 inch 90° Pipe that I originally had from my previous intake and I only ended up using two of the straight through couplings and 190° coupling. So I would say overall cost would’ve been like maybe 60 bucks with both intakes in the couplings.
I orders a 45 degree pipe off of eBay then cut it the size I needed. I just eyed it up for the most part really didn’t measure anything. If it’s a little longer after you cut it. That’s fine the silicone coupler will have more to hold on to.
Hey I have a 2019 va jetta highline 1.4t (Automatic) (straight pipe)...what type of blow of vavle should I get...there are so many and I am unsure which one to choose??
Dylan Logan I just ran silicone inch and a half tube from the charge pipe to the factory in late. Everything I researched including calling Volkswagen dealership you said that that is a air return line. I was thinking it was also some sort of oil return. But on all of the illustrations for the 1.4 turbo motor it showing as an airline. It actually connects To the airline that comes off of the intake box as well behind the motor.
Interesting.. probably the most upsetting thing about this car was people saying you cant do a blow off. I'd imagine a vent atmosphere would throw some sort of codes??
Chris Babz I’ve been running it probably for a little over a month and a half now and have not thrown any codes. I would imagine if I would increase the softness in the spring for the piston in the blowoff valve I could possibly throw a code but since I kept it kind of firm it’s still doesn’t release into the atmosphere until I let off the accelerator. I found out was a lot of newer cars so a lot of it is trial and error. Most people were saying that it could not have a blow off valve added because it has an internal wastegate. And some aspects that maybe true. But I successfully added one with a custom fabricated charge pipe for it. And fingers crossed still have not had any issues with it.
I made mine. I talked to a couple guys that ended up using fordge for a 2018. I’m not sure if it was a direct fit and if they got any check engine codes running that.
Did you have to go stage 2 after everything I just got a 2016 1.4t trying to do some research wanting to do a few changes but don't want to go to stage 2 yet
No I did not do a stage two or any tune on my Jetta. I didn’t want to lose the warranty by doing a tune on the motor. So I basically stuck to all bolt on modification
@@zacharymcbride9587 Basically what they told me when I asked was anything they could potentially hurt the motor. Such as a tune a boost controller .Where are you can adjust the amount of boost your car is putting out. Those would be the biggest things on top of any internal changes to the motor such as valve springs, lifters ,new cam. So primarily bolt on modifications.Which at the time when I traded it in and I was actually able to take the majority of them off. I have been slowly getting rid of some. I’m still trying to get rid of a set of APR coil packs And a front mount intercooler. Which from my understanding would not affect the warranty on the motor either.

I custom built the blow off valve and the intake. When I bought the car, there were not a lot of parts on the market for the car I believe forge makes an intake and blow off valve for it now.
@@zachfroberg1279 that’s the issue I was having and then if I did find one it was like 300 or $400. So I basically just bought an intake for a 99 or 2000 Honda accord because that would be the bend in the piping you would need and fabricated it from there.

Hey man, I got a 2019 jetta 1.4 and I wanna do a blow off but I wanna know what it sounds like going down the road. Can you make a video driving it? And of a pass by?
Yeah I’ll try to do a driving video with the blow off valve I have one loaded from a go pro but I haven’t had the chance to upload the video. I’m going to try and do another video of the sound with the blow off Valve. I currently I’m running the stock charge pipe because with the blow off valve not be in a manufactured part There are times I have to switch back to the factory charge pipe because there is some thing I need to readjust or change on the aftermarket charge pipe.
Atmospheric does actually make more power though, just depends on the set up or build your going for, i.e. bigger turbo, may need atmospheric along with external wastegate
I know that it’s overall better for the turbo in the long run as well. Rather than it recycling it back it to the turbo which eventually over time takes a toll on the turbo. But I wasn’t sure about if you actually gain any power from it venting to the atmosphere.
