I love how real this video is! I think it is great that you let your kids in the video and didnt cut it out when you helped your daughter with her doll.

I love that your videos are so warm, inviting and chalk full of information. Watching puppies is great too. I admit to being an antsy video/tv/movie viewer. Yet, I watch your videos and before I realize it I’ve watched 25 mins without a break, amazing. Kudos to your husband for the excellent quality of the videos and to you both for the content. Such an informative and interesting video! Would love more of them. Especially would love to hear from your perspective what makes a good puppy guardian home. It sounds like all your mama dogs are so very loved in your program.
Thanks for all your effort in sharing you experiences as a dog breeder. I have toy poodles but I still find your videos tremendously helpful. Greetings from Melbourne Australia 🦘🦘🦘
Hello from Australia again. Great news we have now been blessed with a Groodle thanks to your inspiration. Our days are so much fun with Daisy our cream 11 week baby. She is a dream puppy.
Thanks for the video! Good questions! I loved how you included the normal mom things you'd be doing with your daughter into this! So sweet and such a nice family!
Love the Q&A video. It's so nice to see your husband and daughter. The video was so down to earth and I just loved your daughter bring her doll to you.
Love your videos. I’m binge watching them as I am a dog lover. Your family not only are reputable and trustworthy dog breeders but seem to represent good southern family values ( I reside in the Southeast as well). I also like that you mentioned you are church goers and home schoolers. It appears you are both very conscientious about raising your “Hooman” children with healthy values which is increasingly challenging in today’s toxic culture. I look forward to watching more of your videos in the future.
I am so glad you are enjoying them! We actually only home schooled one year! It was Covid crazy times and we did enjoy it but now they are back in! But we do love Jesus and his relationship with us. 🙌
I'm so glad your channel is growing. Congratulations on 15K subscribers! You deserve it! I really enjoyed your Q&A, and it was great to see your hubby in front of the camera answering questions with you. You both did great, and it is wonderful to see responsible and caring breeders like yourselves. Lol when we purchased our Morkie she was supposed to be 5-7 pounds and ended up being over 11. Thanks for sharing! ❤🐶
My mom got a purebred, medium poodle. He was perfect except for some reason he was a little long like a dachshund, not quite as long. No, there was no dachshund in him, the other puppies were fine and he had no dachshund characteristics. My mom wanted a poodle but had no money. We were poor as church mice, lol. The breeder gave her the puppy including his purebred papers and registration. She just asked the he not be bred. Not a problem! He was loved and pampered for 15 years.
I'm so glad you brought up the chicken issue. We have golden retrievers and they all have chicken allergies. Ever since we switched to other protein sources like fish or turkey they stopped having skin issues and ear infections. Our vet said that chicken is a common allergen for all types of dogs. As a breeder, we explain this to all our puppy parents. I always advise people to change the food if there's any allergy issues going on and it resolves completely.
My sisters Westie had terrible allergies. It got expensive, time consuming and distressing to constantly be at the Vets and getting prescriptions for medications. The constant chewing on himself was distressing for him and us, plus he smelled terrible. They tried different dog foods. What eventually worked was them making his food. He had a varied diet, food plus snacks. No more chewing, allergy issues or vet visits. 🥳
Love this. Thanks for your openness and willingness to share more deets w/ us! So wonderful to see ya’ll flourish doing what ya love. Ever thought about doing vids w/ and about the moms and guardian families? Loved the vid of ya’ll bring the pup to its family! Continued Blessings
Great video! It was super helpful to hear all the answers to the questions. I really appreciate how transparent you guys are in your videos. I have some questions for your next Q and A video. I would love to hear more about the finances of being a dog breeder over time (what it looked like when you started vs where you are now), like cost of getting started, costs for testing, welping supplies, toys, food, income from placing the puppies in new homes, vet fees, stuff fees, puppy shots, guardian fees, cost of renovating your home and anything else I haven't thought of thats part of the process. Thank you for all that you share!
You are welcome! Tested would definitely very per person, but OFA testing usually runs between 800 and $1000 for each mom, we spent about $30,000 to renovate our home, probably 10,000 for the garage nursery, whelping, maps and pens are probably close to 5000, And purchasing your dogs with a breeders fee usually runs between 5000 and 6000 a dog. It’s best to start small and then work your way up. We did not spend all this upfront. I hope this helps!
Thanks so much for sharing the good and the bad. I like how you answer each question honestly and tell what you know. We breed mini genetically health tested goldendoodles. We are a small in home breeder and everyone comes to our home to pick their puppy out. Our puppies are born and raised in our home. We love your potty pan method of training the puppies to potty there and not on the floor. We have used your method for our last 3 litters. I thank you for sharing it has been the best method so far.
When I got my Morkie Bear I was concerned about his size because he was so tiny! The gal told me “I wouldn’t worry about him! He’s been dragging the other pups around the kennel by their tails and ears all day lately!!” Almost thirteen years later he’s still the boss!!!
I’ll admit, I am not a dog person at all, I’m a cat person. I grew up with a black and white beagle and then Brittany Spaniels in addition to our Siamese cats and my interest in dogs has not really grown that much. However, after first discovering Rose and Reid Doodles and then your channel, I can’t stop watching either of you! It’s quite interesting how you both approach breeding and run your programs. :)
Very informative video. I just bred my cockapoo for the first time (UK) dog breeding here has a very negative reputation. So many people just doing it to make quick money. I want to change that but there’s very little support and so your videos have been invaluable to me!
First you guys are doing a amazing job on breeding and how you keep the dogs is awesome. Just want to say grains don't stop heart problems. They believe some of the legumes deplete some taurine. That being said grains don't have taurine that's found in real meat and organs so you should feed a better quality food and add real meat and organs if you can't afford a better food. Also the hot spots are usually caused by a allergy to something and also certain foods create more heat and inflammation in body which can lead to hot spots and chronic ears infections both yeast related usually. If you look up Chinese medicine there's hot and cold food list and ones that create different things in body. Interesting if you want to search it. Love all the videos
Thank you for the dog food review site. I have wondered about our dog food, though our dogs have always done well on it. It was good to see it had a 5-star rating.
Love watching your videos. Thank you so much for sharing so much helpful information. I have a question How long do you wait between litters to breed your moms?
My wife and I love your videos! Thank you for the wonderful content and education. To produce your F1B pups, are all your Moms F1’s? How/where do you get your new F1 Dams from? Do you breed your own F1 females? Thank you so much for sharing!
We do also do f1b to f1b, you need to make sure furnishings are present - a genetic test can be run! We do not produce f1’s so we get them from a variety of breeders.
One thing to remember is dog food is not regulated like human food is. The Ingredient list does not go in order of what's in it. So for example just because Beef is the first listed ingredient doesnt mean beef is what the food has the most of. A lot of people dont realize that. Theres very few laws or requirements for dog food.
Erin, our family is considering purchasing a goldendoddle. One of our main concerns is the upkeep. I've never really heard you discuss in length their upkeep as far as grooming. The more I look into it, it seems so daunting and expensive to maintain a golden doodle. Would appreciate any information.
Congrats on your subscribers! I never miss a video so I really liked your Q & A. Some may say y'all have easy stay home jobs but from my non-breeder perspective I believe you work very hard to provide the best, cleanest and most attentive environment for your moms and puppies. As the saying goes, "If you do what you love you'll never work a day in your life". I do believe your family absolutely loves what you do. I look forward to each and every video from birthing to go- home day. ☺️
I have a golden retriever. It’s kind of scary that people don’t understand what a grain free diet can do to them. Goldens aren’t prone to heart issues so when there started to be heart issues in the breed it raised eyebrows. My golden cant have chicken. We use purina pro plan salmon and she seems to do well on it.
That's true, almost none breeders will allow you to go to their house, they want a meeting point, and you can only see the puppy through photos, not even a video. It happened to me. I won't see my puppy until i pick him up. Had to chose from pictures that researching i now know the color is not going to be the expected one.
I watch your videos for the puppies! I love how particular you are in caring for them, you do such a great job. I myself have two young almost two year old dogs, different breeds than yours and each other. One is turning two in Sept Havenese and the other in Dec Mini Aussie. They were the first dogs I got from a breeder. I have always just gotten a mix breed from someone that had a oops happen. lol Crazy I know! Anyway I love puppies but do not want or need another one but just love them so your videos fulfill that need for me. lol Also it is interesting to see how it is done. (or at least should be) Thanks for sharing.
I love seeing the little puppies and their full grown moms in your videos but would love to see the size and temperament of a 6-12 month old puppy if that's possible. The babies are so cute and the moms are all so well behaved in your videos but I'm scared about the adolescence stage when the puppy is big enough to cause chaos in our house but young enough to still be in training! 🤣
Love all your videos! Thanks! I have a 12 year old male, 80 lb golden doodle F1. My next one I need to be smaller! Do you send to CA, or know of a good breeder in CA? I believe I heard on one of your videos that you don’t have any F1’s. Is that correct? I couldn’t have asked for a better dog.
Very informative thank you very much! You guys are so sincere and true full. I love my goldendoodle, we take walks everyday in many occasions people stop asking if I'm willing to let him be with another female so that they can have puppies. I'm not sure if this is legal, not sure if is OK, they keep telling I'm allowed to keep one puppy is this the right way to proceed? Any advice?
I just want to add about getting a good breeder. I ask questions like how many times do you breed? I can't stand over breeders who over breed. That is a pet peeve. I like poodles I was talking to a breeder recently. I asked her how many times do you breed. She said I follow the regulations, and what vet says. She went on to tell me how they are tested, and vet checked. Anyway I could see the passion. I could see she loved what she does. Ask alot of questions. Go see the home where the breeder just to see how the puppies are raised, and clean. After asking questions, and visiting you should have a good feeling. Then you decide to proceed, or not. After talking to this breeder I have a good feeling so more than likely will proceed with her. This breeder said can you promise if for some reason you decide not to keep the dog can you please give it back to me. This breeder also had a questionnaire. One question was is your schedule flexible will you be gone for hours? Another question was are you planning to crate your dog, and for how long? Another question was will you get your dog groomed? How will you train your dog? I just liked being so thorough on finding good families. I hope this helps in finding a good breeder. One more thing, ask to see the parents is another good thing. Just to see for yourself how healthy the parents are, and how the breeder runs things.
We offer updates on our social media when we confirm puppies, or have births also. If you are on our wait list we encourage people to check it regularly to see where they have moved up to!
Guardianship program sounds great. But there seems to be much responsibility on the guardian to communicate with you, care for and monitor the moms…are there ever any shortcomings oversights etc that impacted the process? Do the doggie moms get sad to go back to their guardian home without her pups? At least she is going back home to family of course :)
@Doodles of NC I just love you guys. I just love the passion you have. I also can tell your not in it just for the money. I love you guys would love to meet you sometime.
@@DoodlesofNC I have a question. Do you ever miss your career? I mean a physiotherapist is so rewarding your helping people get better. I was just curious do you ever miss it? But, then again seeing all those cute puppies all the time, and being with them is so rewarding too.
Based on demand how do you feel about the longevity of your business? Do you see signs of market saturation for your doodles and/or for Labradoodles? Thank you
I feel like the market is Saturated but we have been able to rise above because of the way we have shown our selves, the transparency we offer is not common!
I have a mini 18 week old goldendoodle that keeps peeing in the house, even after having gone potty less than an hour before. She goes on the couch or wherever. What do you suggest for potty training? Love your videos
Hey Linda, I would definitely start with getting a one on one training session with Baxter and Bella, use the code doodlesofnc to get 25% off. In the mean time keeping them in small spaces and having them earn bigger ones when they don’t potty is gradual. Even though she’s 18 months it sounds like you need to start at the beginning with a crate. I hope this helps.
This is something I've always wanted to do but I worry about finding nice families and being able to find homes for all the puppies. How do you know if the applicant will be a good owner and did you have to advertise in the beginning or was it mainly word of mouth? I feel like you could do a lot of videos in detail on the business side of what you do and people would pay for that training. Details about what genetic testing needs done, what the contract needs to say, do you have to pay anything extra with your house insurance since people are coming to your home frequently? (You don't have to answer those. I was just giving you examples)
We do offer some consultation work for an hourly fee for those that need help with those things! Applicants can say the best things and still end up a dud- it’s hard to get returns but it happens.
If we're here to educate, they're HOT spots. Not heat spots..... Question for you: what OFA testing do you do? Is there a different minimum age for doodles than all other breeds for hip dysplasia that cannot obtain permanent clearances until after 24 months?
You are correct. We will correct that. OFA does prelims after a year. As long as they are good quality we continue on. If someone received a bad score we wouldn’t breed And wait to do them again to see if it improved
Hello, I do not have a golden doodle but i do have 2 labradoodles. My youngest, almost 3, has had two surgeries for eating socks. Have you seen this in any of your doodles that you have bred and do you have any recommendations? It happens when he follows the standard poodles to the second floor and I’m home, goes into grandson’s bedrooms and finds the dirty socks and eats them.
@@DoodlesofNC thx i do the Same but Last Time i lost a whole litter (mum had giardia which we treated before birth, but puppys and mom got sick, both had diahaera). And With Another Girl we lost half of the litter simuliert Symptoms but Startes When the puppys were 1 week old :-(
Personally love Origen, my labradoodles tummy is very happy on it. Also I find that all doodles have problems with ear infections. plucking ears during grooms is a huge no no
Congratulations on 15,000. How does a person become a guardian? And someone needs to stick to puppies and leave the dolls alone. You were smashing the doll's face and the ponytail was so crooked...I'm surprised you didn't traumatize your daughter. 😁😁😁
I think he doesn’t like the idea for others to make quick money or for certain breeders not to care about the quality and health of dogs. I think if everyone did it like him he would he proud
My golden husky is now 12 years old and I want a goldendoodle so I can train him/ her as a mobility dog. How do I get on your waiting list and how much do I need to save?
Can you please speak about the guardian program... not a competitor different breed. I love breeding my poodles but can't have more than 4, they eat too good! lol Thank you very much.
I love watching your videos. I have two toy poodles. About 8 pounds is my limit since I’m older. I’d have trouble letting the puppies go cause they are so cute. I’m down here in Central Florida.
I love how real this video is! I think it is great that you let your kids in the video and didnt cut it out when you helped your daughter with her doll.

I look forward to each and every video from birthing to go- home day. ☺️
Thank you Cindy!!!
So true!
Beautiful video, you guys even look alike.
Lol, the longer a couple stay together, the more they resemble each other, don’t you know.
I have heard that before!
❤️❤️❤️
That's true, almost none breeders will allow you to go to their house, they want a meeting point, and you can only see the puppy through photos, not even a video. It happened to me. I won't see my puppy until i pick him up. Had to chose from pictures that researching i now know the color is not going to be the expected one.
Oh no! I hope your puppy ends up being your perfect dog. You’ll love it so much !
I’m so glad they can give
You joy!
Well done on your accomplishments on UA-cam. Question for you? Would you ever consider sending one of your puppies overseas? As far as Australia?
I think it would be pretty difficult - but if it would get a non cargo travel ticket we could do it!
I’m from the UK and you are in America! I wish I could get one of your pups but it is only available through flight!
That would be unique but we could figure it out!
Oh that would be cool. A reunion!
We definitely transport to CA! We have at least 6 there already !
Any advice?
It’s legal. But you want to make sure your male and their female are in good health with X-rays , genetics etc.
I use to give Fromm but I saw some reviews of the synthetic vitamins and digestion issues. So now I switched to Open Farm.
Good to know!
Such good questions! Thank you.
When do you offer notice on an upcoming litter? Thanks, Sara
We offer updates on our social media when we confirm puppies, or have births also. If you are on our wait list we encourage people to check it regularly to see where they have moved up to!
You all look alike👀😁
We’ve heard that before. Haha
They are so pumped to go back home, they are ready to wean. It is a lot for guardians but we compensate them nicely.
Thank you :)
@Doodles of NC I just love you guys. I just love the passion you have. I also can tell your not in it just for the money. I love you guys would love to meet you sometime.
Maybe we will do a meet and greet one day. ❤️
@Doodles of NC I would love that, and can you do it when you have puppies. I would love to see the puppies too. I look forward to seeing you sometime.
Hi . Out of your litter do you keep females or males and how do you determine which ones to keep?
I keep ones that remind me of
Features I like. Like a body head, color or
Personality that I fall in love with.
Okay thank you for your response 😊
Hello, I do not have a golden doodle but i do have 2 labradoodles. My youngest, almost 3, has had two surgeries for eating socks. Have you seen this in any of your doodles that you have bred and do you have any recommendations? It happens when he follows the standard poodles to the second floor and I’m home, goes into grandson’s bedrooms and finds the dirty socks and eats them.
I have heard this from other dogs. Not mine though. I don’t have any advice I’m so sorry!
I just joined your channel
Thank you! Welcome!!
I always worry about the Mom dogs when the puppies go to their new homes. Do they cry for them for awhile?
Occasionally they hold toys in their mouth or they whine a bit. But overall they are very very happy to be back with their families
So if you send a puppy to Hawaii what do you do about quarantine?
Doing research now!
How Long before birth Date do you get your Guardian Girls to your Home? Do you Check them for illnesses or Parasites before they come?
One week ahead! And no we don’t check them.
@@DoodlesofNC thx i do the Same but Last Time i lost a whole litter (mum had giardia which we treated before birth, but puppys and mom got sick, both had diahaera). And With Another Girl we lost half of the litter simuliert Symptoms but Startes When the puppys were 1 week old :-(
Would you ever create a program for (new) breeders to help them? I would be very interested!!
We’ve talked about it!
@@DoodlesofNC really would love it🙌🏼 it’s so important to have the right knowledge.
How many litters do you have a year and what do you do between litters?
We almost always have puppies, but my past career was a physical therapist! So I occasionally go see patients.
Personally love Origen, my labradoodles tummy is very happy on it. Also I find that all doodles have problems with ear infections. plucking ears during grooms is a huge no no
We did that one too!
Congratulations on 15,000. How does a person become a guardian? And someone needs to stick to puppies and leave the dolls alone. You were smashing the doll's face and the ponytail was so crooked...I'm surprised you didn't traumatize your daughter. 😁😁😁
Hahahahaha I’m no good at hair! Haha guardians are people that live within an hour away and have applied with us.
Could you tell me what website you order the Fromm food from that has free shipping? Thanks so much!
Their main website
Didn't the guy who who first bred labradoodles call it his biggest life's regret? How you do feel about that?
I think he doesn’t like the idea for others to make quick money or for certain breeders not to care about the quality and health of dogs. I think if everyone did it like him he would he proud
My golden husky is now 12 years old and I want a goldendoodle so I can train him/ her as a mobility dog. How do I get on your waiting list and how much do I need to save?
Our pups are 3400. It would be a great idea for a doodle to be a mobility dog!
@@DoodlesofNC A friend of mine I met her golden doodle for the 1st time and I just fell in love with him
Can you please speak about the guardian program... not a competitor different breed. I love breeding my poodles but can't have more than 4, they eat too good! lol Thank you very much.
For sure! Reach out via the website and we can chat!
Enjoy these videos even though I have shihtzus 😊💖👍
I’m glad!
I love watching your videos. I have two toy poodles. About 8 pounds is my limit since I’m older. I’d have trouble letting the puppies go cause they are so cute. I’m down here in Central Florida.
Oh I understand! I’m glad you have yours!
I’m looking for a smaller dog. Do you have mini golden doodles?
We don’t at this time. But later in the year we will.
