A tiny detail from early on in the series is Fern's story about the kid that missed his exam & was sent to the mines below the school. I've been thinking ever since that this is what happens to those individuals that are deemed to lack the necessary skills to work on the surface level and are then forced into manual labor. There are 1,139 vaults filled with credits, who is mining this resource? I believe that Wim's mother was sent to the mines for one reason or another, which is why Wendel was so focused on his performance at work. Trying to keep himself from suffering the same fate. A terrible secrete that only the adults are aware of. Only those that are useful and productive towards the "Great Work" may remain in the comforts & relative 'freedom' of the At-Attin's surface. I believe that this is the only of the 9 not to face an uprising from its slave faction.
I’m wondering if all the safety droids can also be used as an army to fend off invaders. We saw in this episode that they have the capability to stun someone and they have really good aim. We’ve really only ever seen them as slow walking overseers but I think it would be cool if the supervisor tells all the droids to defend the planet and they become an unstoppable droid army.
Great Show, Guy! Star Wars shot the dog! I was completely shocked! Jod has gone full bad guy. I hope he stays evil and survives to fight another day. Star Wars needs to stop killing off their villains.
Any space art specialists analyzing the mural in the conference room? Also that moment with Wim and his dad not sure whether to hug right away at the reunion. Tragic for a few seconds but ultimately a wholesome recovery.
Could be mythologized, but you can mythologize the the true past as well. But yea maybe they made it just seem more important. Tak Rennod speaking the line “ the last Old Republic Mint” confirms the mint is from the Old Republic Era and Tak is from either the High Republic or pre-HR/1032BBY-500BBY. Because he wouldn’t say Old Republic referring the the HR unless the holo was recorded after order 66. That is the only time anyone would refer to the prequel era or HR as old republic. Get it?
I dont believe you guys have mentioned it yet in a breakdown and I also haven't double checked since seeing this one but at the start of each episode when they show the helmets I always check what color SM-33 is and he changes color based on whether he is aligned with the kids or not
Late in the game for speculation but… While I’ve enjoyed some of the Captain / Supervisor theories I’ve been a dagger in the heart subscriber since the beginning. Once we saw Rennod’s lair in ep5 I initially thought it was settled. But since then I’ve become more & more enamoured of a wild card theory. The Captain is Snowball & the combo of Snowball & SM-33 is the Tak Rennod persona (a la Gasgon or IG-12). Looking at the skull throne in his lair, the mouth looks like it could resemble SM-33’s. Snowball pulled SM-33’s strings in order to obscure the Rennod holo. Both intros for SM-33 (kids & Jod) were a bit evasive (‘some call me’, “who’s askin”). Granted that may just be pirate talk. And the problems w/ the Captain as Supervisor theory apply + why has he been playing along all this time. So it’ll more than likely just be that Snowball puts 33’s head back on to come to his buddy Neel’s aid or play a critical role otherwise in kind. But Snowball as the captain is just a notion I have some affection for but granted it’s a stretch.
The “Boo-ey” pronunciation by Fara and co hurts my ears having grown up in a coastal fishing village… “Buoy” is just pronounced “Boy”! On a similar note, the use of “Emissary” is extremely close to “Ambassadors” in Ep.1 TPM.. seems likely that Jedi would have historically been involved in £$€ transportation of this scale. I wonder if this also explains the lightsaber in Tak Rennod’s collection - taken as spoil when he boarded and successfully took the At Attin vessel 🤔 Lastly, feels almost certain slap ball will play a part in the final episode. My guess is Neel slaps the lightsaber out of the air as Jod pulls it toward himself with the force. Great job on this series , can’t wait for Andor rewatch!
It’s one louda. Why not just make 1138 louder. This one goes to 1139. 🤪 Maybe something happens to one of the vaults & at the end of the finale there’s now 1138 left. 🤷♂️
Jude Law probably took German lessons to pronounce the name correctly lol. No matter if it's Gunter or Gunther, the only proper German pronunciation of right here: ua-cam.com/video/H6T2Sg3S92c/v-deo.html&si=bnqLQMVjII3SSirI
This is incredibly non-essential but instead of the pirate song, it could be Na na na na, Na na na na, hey hey Na Nawood (Mac feel free to steal this and make it real on the next podcast)
The parents didn’t seem too surprised when they saw the lightsaber, perhaps they have seen one before. And maybe they go into “warrior” mode to protect their kids…
Nah, not me. It’s just designed that way, like a probe droid but opposite. Like the levitation technology on speeders, it’s just going up. I will say though… it’s a bit of a scientific loophole not that I think Star Wars cares because it’s more science fantasy: that little thing without rockets should not be able to reach escape velocity if it’s going to float in space to broadcast galaxy wide messages. But maybe it just gets really high and broadcasts to satellites in orbit.

CoTW Skelly Crew breakdown is what I needed after a long, long day at work.
Glad we could help take the edge off!
Yay!! You got blue helmet white stripe!
Yall seriously have the coolest intro with that retro shot of the kids and Jod. Well done.
Thanks so much! We've had a blast with the branding for this one

Definitely possible! We know that defense considerations went into the design of the world

Definitely want to see more of Jod in the future as well!

We've got confidence Wim and Wendell will end up with a newfound understanding for one another

We'll have to look out for that as we go back through!

I’m only just now listening to the Skellephone calls pod for ep7… 🥴😅 echo, echo, echo… 🤦♂️
Hes got the Dragon Sickness

Very good point about Jedi most likely being the Emissaries! Can't wait for the slap ball match to save the world this coming week haha!
@@childrenofthewatch 😅
Wims dad is jedi Claark Keent! Those glasses come off, lightsaber comes out, LETS GO!
haha that would be awesome!
1,139 vaults. Why not 1,138? THX 1138! It would be appropriate. So close yet so far, far away!
I liked that they did that. It’s not too obvious or on the nose, like a tiny bit of shielding to be an extra level Easter Egg.
It’s one louda.

I got the feeling that ferns mom was using the force when she sent the probe up to space? Anyone else?

@@smorin1487 you might be right, I still think one of the parents is a force user and we might see a force user fight in the next episode
