Jod is a complicated character. First, if he was trained as a Jedi, then abandoned by the Order, Jod had to become something else. Becoming a pirate makes sense as they operate OUTSIDE of the Republic. Next, he is a pirate. The Pirate Code requires mutineers be EXECUTED for mutiny. That’s the code. To gain respect with his crew, what happened was necessary. Next, if he was evil, the children would have been killed or sold from the beginning. But with children, they only obey when they are scared. Corporal punishment has been the way of social order, and pirate order, for millions of years. What happens next will be revealed when the “Supervisor” appears. As for Jod, he now has all the credits he could ever need to control. But he also probably knows he cannot trust others with that kind of treasure. So my guess is he will have to ensure those he trusts follow his commands. Again, the “Supervisor” will determine the next direction to formulate his next step. But children are unconventional and do not always do what they are told to do. There is the UNKNOWN rub.
Great analysis and I agree on the Supervisor being the key to everything. He, or more than likely the AI that runs the Supervisor, may be more dangerous than Jod himself.
There's a difference whether an Emissary hasn't been to At Attin for 30 years or 1000. I'm thinking the latter. But if the former then that opens up some possibilities, like the Supervisor being a Jedi on assignment. He then could fight Jod. But why risk yourself physically when you have droids with stunners and who knows what else like sonic weapons or knock-out gas. Jod, while under "Ecstasy of Gold" is his own enemy since he won't be able to trust anyone or anything. So even if they fill his ship with credits, he won't believe he can go. Or be allowed to return, or not be killed by his crew. More likely than a Jedi being Supervisor is a droid, A.I. or computer. So the parents and their children will be expendable if it comes to that, so they'll have to talk Jod down. I doubt their combined yearly salaries will be enough to satisfy Jod. Not sure how the cannon on the school roof would come into play; maybe if the Frigate makes it through the barrier and hovers over the town? I do think being a Force-user is required to be an Emissary, so if he gets his blood tested, then he'll pass and be allowed to leave. But will he, or will he be too suspicious? I really want to see him almost get away with a fortune, then he doesn't. But then gets imprisoned with rehab as the kids grow up.
I like that point on emissaries being jedi only, and yes the roof canon has to come into play as well. Lotta people thinking jod will be long Long John and eventually get away with a little bit of treasure to live another day. I also think the Supes is AI.
When Jod say hundred of years in ep.7, he is just referring to At Attin being hidden for hundreds of years since Rennod found it. Because once he found it it was no longer hidden, until now.!
It would make sense to me if tak renon established the AI that runs the planet. He would eliminate the human or living element in charge, utilize one of their ships, and the AI would treat him like he belonged and he could come and go as he pleased. Having a person as the supervisor would certainly lead to his capture as they would easily see they were being plundered.
Unless Tak lived in the imperial era your conclusion could make sense. Only post order 66 did anyone refer to the prequel republic or high republic as the old republic. Get it?
My man, made clear? Did you forget about K’hymm speaking of the Proto-Republic n the paper scroll. N Tak Rennod sayin At Attin is the last Old Republic Mint. If Tak lived in the republic era before the empire, he could only possibly be referring to TOR era. He wouldn’t say Old speaking of the time he is living in. Ya know?
Again, point was we now know how long it's been lost, it was lost during High Republic. If you listen I never say it was just a High Republic planet. I say it just wasn't lost during the Old Old Republic era. Either way I think we are both on the same page and stuck in nuance. I definitely bumbled the point I was trying to make that is very clear.
Hey guys, do you really believe? Jod is really playing them because he’s really a good guy eat from the inside. I mean, he could’ve killed him in the cave when he met them, but he didn’t that has got to mean something.
Yeah he seemed a bit softer back then, but now that he's seen the gold, I'm not sure he can turn his greed off. If he is redeemed it'll be in death I think.
We actually covered the murals way back in the premiere. They definitely have some meeting. Only reflect the species that live on the planet and they always seem to be praising or worshipping something or someone.
yeah we were riffing on this last night, now that pirates have found it, and the new republic could get called in via KB calling out to Khymm, who knows who else may be listening. He'd love a planet full of gold.
Jod isn't exactly a expert on planetary archeology. Neither are the pirates, considering that his friend the owl alien considered At Atten a jewel of the old republic and actually had paper maps that detailed its existence, and it was considered a legend and almost fairy tale indicates its existence being lost to the galactic civilization for some time. At Atten hasn't been lost for several hundred years, its been lost for several thousand. That's because we know the Republic that we see in the Skywalker Saga before its fall is at least 1000 years old and that its decent to its fall began when it was considered in its high republic era, about 500 years before the battle of Yavin, and the High Republic was still exploring space especially areas that was lost after the fall of the old republic. It would be difficult to explain how a expanding government lost what would have been the most valuable worlds of its economy during the 1000 years, unless, said government itself never knew of the worlds as well. More indication that these worlds were indeed the jewels of the Old Republic from thousands of years earlier is the currency itself. The material used for them is apparently extremely rare and valuable, enough that even one is considered a treasured find. During the late stages of the end of the Republic we know that republic credits were not that valuable to be traded in some parts of the outer rim with them either being traded for currency that was valuable in the area or goods that were valuable enough to be traded. Sure the credits might have had some historical value after the Empire emerges but its doubtful it would have been that much but they likely would have been turned into Imperial credits and still had the same value, although it would have been easier to use considering those that likely refused ended up potentially getting a visit by a imperial squad or planet or city getting glassed. This would have carried over with the New Republic credits as well. Old Republic credits however would be very different. A single cart likely could setup a person for life along with any descendants he or she hard, A shipment in a small starship like the Onyx Cinder likely could buy a world, the frigate the pirates have could carry several thousand tons at least could buy a fully developed world and perhaps some orbital yards and fleet to go with it. A cruiser twice its size able to carry more..... Probably could buy a system.. Yeah this world is not high republic or republic, Its from the Old Republic of thousands of years earlier. Likely lost during its eventual fall from countless wars and issues. I think this world is going to be very important down the line as its wealth could be used for great things. Likely not from the New Republic who likely would fumble the world and its treasure treating it as a novelty or banning it from the galactic market due to the literal economic disaster it would cause. The Empire however, it would be a saving grace to them.
I don't believe those vaults are the treasure. Previously on the acid bath planet there was a discussion about the value of life vs gold or something like that, and I think we'll find out the treasure is something that pirates wouldn't value at all.
When Jod say hundred of years in ep.7, he is just referring to At Attin being hidden for hundreds of years since Rennod found it. Because once he found it it was no longer hidden, until now.!
Agree, think I just confused myself in the script for the video, was trying to make the point that we now know how long it has been lost to the galaxy.
Brutus threatened to kill Jod regardless I love skeleton crew cast and production
And he got iced for it! We just interviewed Wim last night if you want to check that out on the channel.
@@StarWarsTimeShow wow!

The number of vaults 1139 was totally a nod to THX1138 plus one for greed.
Works for me!
pirates could run into THRON !
Yup, more than likely will be New Republic fighters sadly.

Yes
Silvo. Silver. Long John Silver doesn't get redeemed. He escapes with some loot.
I can dig that, I want Jod to stick around good or bad character type.
I see you!

That's what I was trying to say, think you made it more simple to understand.
Unless Tak lived in the imperial era your conclusion could make sense. Only post order 66 did anyone refer to the prequel republic or high republic as the old republic. Get it?
Was referencing on port borgo when they call them Old Republic Credits.

@ no not again every time someone’s redeemed they die and that doesn’t seem right
I know. Think Jod should live on as a villain!
@ don’t think so
Jod will be redeemed. He may require a limb from one of the kids.
Why is no one talking about the mural on the wall where the parents are held?
We actually covered the murals way back in the premiere. They definitely have some meeting. Only reflect the species that live on the planet and they always seem to be praising or worshipping something or someone.
would Thron know about AT ATTIN? If so , think about the timeline !
yeah we were riffing on this last night, now that pirates have found it, and the new republic could get called in via KB calling out to Khymm, who knows who else may be listening. He'd love a planet full of gold.
Thrawn
CTHALLOPS WAS THE SUPERVISOR ON VACAY. Also Neels's dad ain't ever around...what are you doing Neel's dad?!?! Rennod is obvi the eyeball mouse thing.
Ha, love this comment. Neel's dad has to watch the kids while mom out getting stunned!

We shall see on the actual time it was lost but do agree at attin will play a role moving forward. First Order funding?
I don't believe those vaults are the treasure. Previously on the acid bath planet there was a discussion about the value of life vs gold or something like that, and I think we'll find out the treasure is something that pirates wouldn't value at all.
Finale should have a twist I agree.
I think the pirates and tak will be forced to escape with their lives only after coming extremely close to death
