Pokémon Journeys: The Series is the eighth part of the anime series. It features all of the regions from the main-series games, including the Generation VIII games Pokémon Sword and Shield. This series shares its Japanese name with the original series when the anime first premiered in 1997, and is officially labeled with "2019", the year this series started in, for disambiguation. This new series focuses on the two protagonists Ash Ketchum and Goh, along with their partners Pikachu and Cinderace. It also features a young girl named Koharu (Chloe), who has a Yamper, and her father, Professor Sakuragi (Cerise), who runs a laboratory in Vermilion City. It features all the regions that have appeared in the Pokémon games, from Kanto to Galar. Pokémon from each region will also appear while Ash is pursing Leon in the Pokemon World Coronation Series (PWC) and Goh is chasing his dream in Project Mew.
The Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games, the newest chapters in the Pokémon series, are coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. With these new titles, the Pokémon series takes a new evolutionary step, allowing you to explore freely in a richly expressed open world of the Paldea Region in the 9th Generation of Pokemon. Various towns blend seamlessly into the wilderness with no borders. You’ll be able to see the Pokémon of this region in the skies, in the seas, in the forests, on the street all over! You’ll be able to experience the true joy of the Pokémon series battling against wild Pokémon in order to catch the now in an open-world game that players of any age can enjoy.? The three Pokémon from which you’ll be able to choose your first partner are Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Be ready as you step into Generation 9 of Pokemon.

I think ash battling ho-oh would be awesome to end off his journey and his story in the series
If Ash doesn't capture Latias. Despite all of the foreshadowing. Ash vs Ho-oh would be a full circle moment. Allow Ash to catch it, not because he deserves to capture Ho-oh. He's earned the right to capture it.
Or Rather Turn Ash Into A Digimon Tamer King,And Let Him Befriend Chronomon Holy Mode,Who Is Way Cooler,Stronger,And More Beautiful Than Ho-Oh!Holy Flare!Corona Blast!

Im so sad for Ash but just imagine that 6 years later we see our new boy is in the finale and his/her opponent is Ash like 2:14. This could be amazing ;) please do something like that. And please please please NOOO ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE for new anime. In 25 years, hundreds of wonderful trainers we met. please dont waste them.
Ash and Pikachu battle Ho-oh with all their friends watching without their knowledge till after the battle, and win or lose, the battle itself will show that Ash deserves to be named pokemon Master

Finale one great last ride a battle is needed and worthy against Ho-Ho. Ash’s last episode will be a banger and sad at the same time but wow can’t believe we’re nearing an End of a Journey for 25yrs running will come to end for the best Pokémon lead characters.
I was always funny to me that ho-uh is a gen 2 pokemon yet was in the anime in the very first seasons of Gen 1 lol they knew

Hm, this does sound interesting, it would be a rather fitting way to end things, but we’ll just have to wait and see what they decide to do,
I just hope it’s done well, so Satoshi/Ash gets the proper ending he deserves,

Thought when he defeated ho oh he woke up in the hospital and the doctor said he had a coma and just woke up after pickachu shock him int he first episode

What if ash's father is hoho's trainer?! That would seal the deal
Like when Ash is battling Ho-Oh, the camera zooms in on Ash's eye and then zooms back out and get to see a much mature version of Ash in his adulthood. That would be so amazing!
I know you didnt just label Giovanni as Ashs dad.
While I do there's a possibility of a battle to end off, I'm not sure of it being done with Ho-Oh. That isn't to say I don't expect it to confront Ash in some matter; or give him another direction again to his next adventure.
How oh fighting ash and maybe even beating him could be cool but regardless of how the fight goes it would be cool if Hoh Oh allowed Ash to catch him
I think there's a still handful of episodes left until the end of Ultimate Journeys and til the new Pokemon anime starts April 14th in Japan
But if the creators and producers of this show are smart enough I think they should end it with a bang
For the VERY LAST EPISODE of Ash and Pikachu's adventures they should have a big surprise birthday party for Ash and all the characters that were important and significant to the the entire series should show up and all of Ash's pokemon should be apart of it too
And then I think they should have a new rendition of the original Gotta Catch Em All song with Jason Paige singing it again and an updated version of the original 1990s U.S. intro
Also they should do a time skip scene with an older Ash like you suggested
To me that would be the perfect ending and an epic send-off for these character IF they do it this way

Ash catching Ho-oh to be honest, is the most feasible route the anime could go about cementing Ash's dream of being a Pokemon Master.
Based on what we know from the anime, Ho-oh, is universally symbolized as the ultimate harmonious connectivity between human and pokemon, which is essentially what a Pokemon Master is. As such, I can see the rainbow bird being used as a plot device to give indication that Ash has reached his goal, given the fact that Ho-Oh is metaphorically the embodiment of what a Pokemon Master truly is.
I think Ho-oh "allowing" Ash to catch it would actually provide more significance and merit towards him achieving his goal of being a Pokemon Master, if the legendary "willingly" deems Ash as a worthy trainer that is pure enough to be its partner, based on its understanding of Ash;s high level of connection with Pokemon. However, I do think the capture will be temporary, given Ho-Oh's importance around the world.
In regards to why Ho-Oh's capture would serve as a symbolism to Ash achieving his dream, I think a capture would serve as a proper resolution to establish Ash's worthiness to be given the right to be considered a Pokemon Master, if the Legendary considers him good enough to be its partner, given its reputation as a sacred entity that embodies harmonious connection between human and pokemon.
I dont think many trainers would protest or debate against Ash's title as a Pokemon Master if they know that he has Ho-Oh's blessing to be considered one if the legendary acknowledges Ash as a master by allowing Ash to catch it. Befriending a pokemon builds connection, but its heavily established in the anime that a Pokemon capture symbolizes connectivity and unity.

Ash battling ho-oh, because he has proven to be worthy. And if ash defeats ho-oh, he is worthy of capturing ho-oh. Ash using five aces and pikachu and all of ash his friends and rivals watching it, would be awesome.

Considering Ho-Oh is the rainbow Pokemon I think it makes sense that the legend who kicked off Ash's journey shows up here
They cannot mess this up like when Ho-Oh first showed up in journeys. Man that was a trash episode
Ash needs to battle and catch ho oh... team rocket need their alolan mons back... brock needs a woman... misty should have been the one to catch suicune around this time NOT goh... he hasn't even used it... one final 6v6 battle between Ash and Gary would have been sick especially given how tough both of them are Gary going full power with blastoise, tyranitar, electivire, arcanine, umbreon and regidrago. Give Ash what ever he still wins but the battle could and should of happened... THEN once their battle concludes ho oh just lands in front of them and bows its head in respect for Ash to then get out a pokeball and just *TAP.... and catch ho oh :) trust me I really wish I was a writer at this company drastic more meaningful changes would have been happening... we need a darker colosseum style anime too as a back up as I don't think Roy and liko are gonna be able to fill Ash and pikachus shoes...

Yeah so I came here after seeing that image of 'oh pikachu was just battling ho-oh no biggie' so I went to look up the actual fight (i chose you) since I haven't watched pokemon since the OG and...damn its disappointing. I came here to complain about it, only for you to just drop a GIOVANNI IS ASH'S DAD in a second what. Anyway, OG better in every way it seems, especially animation. That is all
