My resident dr roody would be proud to see how far we’ve become …congrats for king air too…being tired is good it’s a positive good…thanks for saving people’s lifes
I just watched the video of you doing your first cholecystectomy. You were so excited by the procedure! How fantastic that you are in a hepatobiliary fellowship. Six weeks ago I had a cholecystectomy and hepatectomy. I am so grateful that I had an amazing surgical team. Thank you for what you do!
I cant believe its so much hate on this comments. These is one of the most difficult and important job ever. We all had some very ill family and whish there was a human organ to replace the one who was ill and many times we could not have It because among other causes there is not enough doctora trained on these. Some one should do that work and we all should be thankfull because of these doctors. I am an ICU doctor and a mom and I made both works and these one is hard, there is not cuddles from anyone, no kids laugh,it is totally different from a housewife roll, both are important but these one is unique. So proud of these doctor and her sacriffice, so sad about many comments. Sorry for my Engish, is not my native language.
Another enthusiastic episode, We have a very well established cadaveric programme here in Sri Lanka and most people who benifit from it don't know the value of it, the dedication and sacrifice of the Transplant surgeons and the team, most of our Surgeons travel by road for retrieve the organs drive back and operate. Whish their life would be made easy and given good returns!
Who says it's hard...be it a housewife where the fish monger brings fish or a transplant Dr says there s a kidney or liver coming in...well life is the same for all ..do well in your professions be it a Dr or engineer or sweeper...after all life is a big circle ...what you give to earth comes back to you ..
Each patient is a challenge ..they are educated...experienced doctors ...if u see my comment above I know a person who spend more than 80 l had a transplant and expired after 4 days...now tell me who is to blame? If you know your job well your fine...
Do you find that you’re by yourself / alone a lot during these longs shifts? The doctors at my hospital usually sit by the nurses station bc they get lonely in their lounges 😆
Raga.....can u rememeber me Last month....i had liver transplant.....and u was the surgeon....who operated me...i never forget u....ur care was atmost...thanku
I am awaiting a kidney transplant and it scares me to think that the surgeon could be so sleep deprived. I know it’s not your fault but it really sets people up for mistakes. Is it a shortage of transplant surgeons that causes this? I think you are AMAZING and I’m very thankful people like you exist.
Or more than 120 hours, basically you’re done when your patients are taken care of, if something happens then you have to go back into work no matter if you only got home 3 hours ago. There is no protected time off like in most jobs.
I’m an organ driver in the uk it’s not uncommon for us and surgeons to be out for 40 hrs at a time. Especially when the liver is split and then transported to another hospital and then transplanted. Poor surgeons will not sleep for 60 hours unless they are in the car

@@teresamickle4431if you think procuring an organ and performing the surgery isn’t hard then you’re kidding yourself.
@@indefat it's a recurring job for doctors...they are doing this daily...and practice makes perfect

My friend did usmle in first try 😢 , I m thinking to do it .
could you talk about your plans/options after fellowship? Are you thinking of repeating residency?
Wish I could have that kidney transplant
As a trained physician you must be cognizant of how unhealthy that lifestyle/ schedule is for you personally
well done sherlock

How many hours off work did you get after this shift?
15 min
probably not many, and it’s not guaranteed either. You can work as many as 120 hours a week.

Thank you Dr. Raga for bringing us along!! Your dedication and hardwork while working such long hours has inspired be to keep going in medschool.
Get some rest! You are such a dedicated doctor! I remember my call days...nothing near what I see you do! Best of Luck!
As a transplant team how does it work with airport security ?
Can you sleep on the plane?
How safe is liver transplant? ..a person near us spend 80 lakhs and two days he was dead due to bleeding.
It's pretty safe
Love you girl

The hours that doctors are required to keep is more than hard, it’s downright dangerous
Dear you are a wonderful lady God bless you in the name of Jesus Amen
Dr. Am here in Uganda I want to donate a kidney
What was that plane for?
