Having a foot or ankle injury is challenging mentally and physically. But don't worry, I'm here to help you stay positive and active as you recover. I know how hard injury can be, but I believe in you and know you can heal quickly by being smart, staying positive, and finding you're strong.
When you are coming back from an injury, your body gets tight, tense, and sore! A little bit of movement can help you stretch and move through stiff, achy muscles. It will give your body and mind a bit of a feel-good medicine.
If you have a broken foot, stress fracture, sprained ankle, Achilles tendon tear, broken toe, broken heel, pulled calf muscle, shin splints, or another lower leg injury that prevents you from using your feet, ankles, or calves when you work out, then this video is for YOU. Caroline, thank you for the hurt foot series, it is huge help to me right now as I am struggling to come to terms with a calf strain and limited mobility; your positive attitude is great and it is such a relief to realise that I don't have to lose my fitness and strength just because I can't walk right now. I also realised working through your videos, that the increased in blood circulation as I am exercising is giving a lot of relief to my injured tight muscles and it really helps to soften them up, a completely unexpected side-effect which is hugely appreciated and I am sure it will accelerate my recovery.

Thank you so much I’m 17 years old , and I sprained my ankle trying to “push too hard “ and do the super hard version of a side plank . My right ankle wasn’t necessary stable and so my hips and knees weren’t and then I sprained my left ankle . I tried to ignore it but that only made it worse . It looked crooked but I iced it for an hour and looked better . It’s a really bad sprain so I have a stirrup thing on it . This helps me get rid of tension thank you thank you thank you 🙏🏻

Can't wait to try this. I am a Veteran with several procedures in the last year including brostrom with internal brace to replace ligaments. PT wasn't done quick or long enough and my lower body is SCREAMING. Still in a boot partially. Looking to yoga for the stretching I miss as a dancer and athlete. These stretches feel amazing after moving around on crutches. They’ll be equally valuable once I’m recovered. Particularly like the pigeon. I struggle with normal pigeon as I’ve got a hypermobile knee joint, but this way gives me more control. Thank you so much.

I have to tell you that your videos have saved me! Three weeks ago I hurt my foot. I had stopped working out afraid to aggravate it. Almost immediately I noticed that my sleep was affected and then my mood. I teach high school English and I was losing my patience gradually. I didn't even know there were angels like you that created whole FREE routines! Before I was even able to do the workouts, just knowing they were out there, elevated my mood. Sorry this is so long, but what you are doing is so important. Thank you. On a side note, I will be doing the chair yoga even after I healed. I do it on my prep and it just helps perk me up for the rest of my day.

THANK YOU! I have probably done this video 15x since my jones fracture surgery 2 months ago. I can feel the difference in my fitness level. Right after surgery, I couldn't do this, and I was exhausted just trying, Now, I can set my foot up in the figure 4 without pain. oh thank you so much for this lovely stretch routine and i just did your other workout video cant wait to do the longer one on my lunch break tomorrow. really enjoyed it and feel loads better as yes you are so right my legs are feeling weird from accommodating my injury and my hips are tight big time but feel much better now, love the modified pigeon that is gold!!!

Hey Caroline. I am 54, fit and active. I broke my ankle badly 2 weeks ago, required extensive surgery. At my age I am very concerned about staying positive and not losing the ability to regain my fitness, as well as returning to skiing, cycling, etc. This video has made me sooo happy. I have been doing these stretches every day for the past week, adjusting a bit for the broken ankle. I feel so much better, both physically and mentally. Thank you!!!

Thankyou! I am having sciatic nerve pain from a former lower back injury. Now I busted my right ankle and not walking on the boot yet. No weight bearing. But this helped the lower back and hips loosen! That helps the nerve that affects my whole right leg!
Oh this was just what my hip needed! Nearly 4 weeks in to my non weight bearing phase, and my hip is definitely feeling the added load. Thanks Caroline, you are a life saver x

I’m sorry to say I’ve not been dealing with my injury positively. I’ve been away from the gym for 3 weeks, and it’s getting to me. I am not kind to my healing foot and I am impatient for it to finish healing. Thanks for the mindset tip, I’ll do better.

Thanks so much Caroline. I know this video is a couple of years old, but it really helped me today. I sprained my foot about 8 days ago and I was feeling so much better that I overdid it yesterday and I am experiencing a lot of pain. I was feeling really discouraged and I have to say I discovered that I am not the most patient person with myself, injured.

Wow, thank you for this video! I had a fractured sesamoid in my foot and had it removed, so exercising has been challenging. I have worked out with a few of your videos and they are all fantastic, but this stretching felt so good! Thank you for the workouts and for the positivity, I feel great afterwards!
I am still healing after 6 months of evulsion fracture in foot and sprained ankle and this is helping me stretch some of those stiff sore places in my body so thank you so much deeply grateful for you sharing this video which will help my body losen up stretch and strengthen in a healthy way. Thank you so much for doing all your “hurt foot” videos. I’m only 3 wks post ORIF on my left fibula. But I have been cleared to do any exercise I can tolerate without bearing weight on my left leg. I immediately went looking for modified exercises and found your channel. I’ve done one other 21-min video, but it’s still a little too much.
But THIS video is awesome! I knew I was right, but I had no idea just how tight until I got to the cross body leg stretch! OMG! It felt wonderful! So freeing! And I had no pain or discomfort! I wish I cld hug you and thank you. I tore my peroneal tendon a yr ago today and it has resisted every non invasive method of healing. Im going insane from boots, injections, therapy and my least favorite ..resting. Im fighting off depression and trying everything to keep the good vibes coming. Thank you. I already feel better. I didnt realize how long it had been since I had stretched, I cld hear the rust falling off. Your affirmations are nice too. Very comforting 😄

I got my Achilles' tendon broken 5 weeks ago and I just started to walk with boot and crutches on, it's tough not being able to be as active as I was, and I got my temper up quite easily.. this video really helped me relax and found back my inner peace, I totally agree that we should just listen to our body and be nice to it. Look forward to try out more of your workout when I recover!
