As someone who has been along for the "ride" with you for well over a year, I've always admired your positive energy, and that is exaggerated even more during times of change. When I was twenty five, I had started working in a stable career-oriented job, and I thought I knew how things would unfold. Over the next thirty-five years, I ended up leaving those stable career jobs twice -- once by choice and once not by choice. Both of those departures led to amazing new discoveries and opportunities. I moved to a new place, discovered new hobbies, learned more about myself, and found new ways to enjoy work. It took awhile (more than a year) for things to work out and to find my new direction. But things did work out even more wonderfully than I imagined. Your attitude reminds me of the excitement and wonder of all of the possibilities that I felt when I took the step out of the security of those stable career jobs. Enjoy.
Julia, what is remarkable about you, and that really stands out this time, is that you always have an upbeat and energizing personality -- regardless if you are happily jetting around, or are facing a hard situation in life. Keep it up (this is your nature and gift) .. keep telling stories of life, because the world needs the encouragement that you naturally exude.

Girl, you are not alone. I took a voluntary furlough for 8-13 months with my company. I miss flying terribly already. I’m slowly running out of grocery I get in Europe, specially my tea bags...we flight attendants are so blessed to have such an amazing career. Hang in there, we’ll be back sooner than we think. On a more positive note, we can use this free time to catch up on our sleep. Sending you much love ❤️

I've really enjoyed your videos...cool destinations and "behind the scenes" stuff! As a physician I've always been fascinated by flying because it is so different from my typical day. I can't believe when passengers pull down their window shades...I am glued to the window from take-off to landing. I'm the guy taking photos out the plane window of cities, mountains, lakes, and rivers. I look out the window and try to guess what town we're flying over. I've assisted with a couple of medical emergencies over the years while in flight...quite humbling. I secretly want to be a flight attendant when I retire! Hope you continue your vlogs!

You never know what may come from taking a break! I love your positivity. I am an elementary school teacher and life as I know it has been turned upside down. The good news is that it has been roughly seven months since this all started. We are seven months closer to being done with this COVID nonsense. This can’t be toooooooooo much longer before all of this is behind us, I hope!
Great video, Julia! My heart goes out to you and all the others who got furloughed - but as you said, it will only be temporary. When I got furloughed from Tulsa as an AMT in the mid 90s, I was able to keep my job by bumping into JFK. It was a major inconvenience in our lives, but we made some great friends and had great experiences in NY. In the end, the pros outweighed the cons and I'm grateful for the things I learned and got to do as part of my job; 11 short months later, I was recalled to Tulsa and have been smiling ever since! Keep that positive attitude and before you know it, you'll be back in the air! BTW, that dinner meal looked delicious (and the cookies too)! 😊
For the time being, you may want to treat Dallas as one big "layover" - there's a lot to see and do there. Could provide some interesting content for your channel - and Luna can join in the fun!
I’ll definitely echo what many of these comments say. Your positive outlook on life is so contagious! I certainly wish that you will get it back in Niagara Falls style!! That food y’all cooked up looked amazing and I liked to see the details on how to cook it. Just might have to try it sometime! Its a very heartbreaking time for many of us right now and I think ita important people understand "we're not all in the same boat" but in the same storm as someone of us have been mkre heavily impacted by this then others. This is my fifth year in the US as an international student and I have been to D terminal in DFW way too many times, it is super nice and I loved it a lot. I just checked my I94 and today will be exactly a year and two months since last time I entered the US through DFW. The pandemic is bad and messed up everyone’s life a lot and I didn't even go home for the summer😢. So let'stay positive and things will get back to normal soon!

Hi Julia! I feel your pain. Today I got the news that me and my co-workers were dreading. I don't know what I'm going to do yet. Me and my co-workers won't be working at the hotel I work at after the 31st. We all got the letter saying our furlough status was going to end on that date. We have to clean out our lockers by the end of the month . Also, we have to return our uniforms.
Mike Frith got it totally right . Your young too many people including me back then, think we should be “established” by our early 20’s, just go for it with what you want to do, you will be surprised where you might end up . You are I suggest very employable even in the current mess. You have proved your total dedication when you did gymnastics. I suspect the airline has you on the “A” list for rehires too.
hi julia, travel will pick back up again, someday definitely, but well, we don't know when. i was in a doctors office recently and he said this is not the new normal, they do not thinking of current situations as forever, but they don't know how long this virus will go on, so good and not so good news. it's ok to be sad about events, to stay positive in the face of uncertainty is real courage, good luck til next time.

The good news is that it has been roughly seven months since this all started. We are seven months closer to being done with this COVID nonsense. This can’t be toooooooooo much longer before all of this is behind us, I hope!
Great video, Julia! My heart goes out to you and all the others who got furloughed - but as you said, it will only be temporary. When I got furloughed from Tulsa as an AMT in the mid 90s, I was able to keep my job by bumping into JFK. It was a major inconvenience in our lives, but we made some great friends and had great experiences in NY. In the end, the pros outweighed the cons and I'm grateful for the things I learned and got to do as part of my job; 11 short months later, I was recalled to Tulsa and have been smiling ever since! Keep that positive attitude and before you know it, you'll be back in the air! BTW, that dinner meal looked delicious (and the cookies too)! 😊
For the time being, you may want to treat Dallas as one big "layover" - there's a lot to see and do there. Could provide some interesting content for your channel - and Luna can join in the fun!

I’ll definitely echo what many of these comments say. Your positive outlook on life is so contagious! I certainly wish that you will get it back in Niagara Falls style!! That food y’all cooked up looked amazing and I liked to see the details on how to cook it. Just might have to try it sometime! Thank you Julia for this vlog. I to lost my job in another hard hit industry which is the events industry. Its a very heartbreaking time for many of us right now and I think ita important people understand "we're not all in the same boat" but in the same storm as someone of us have been mkre heavily impacted by this then others. This is my fifth year in the US as an international student and I have been to D terminal in DFW way too many times, it is super nice and I loved it a lot. I just checked my I94 and today will be exactly a year and two months since last time I entered the US through DFW. The pandemic is bad and messed up everyone’s life a lot and I didn't even go home for the summer😢. So let'stay positive and things will get back to normal soon!

Hi Julia! I feel your pain. Today I got the news that me and my co-workers were dreading. I don't know what I'm going to do yet. Me and my co-workers won't be working at the hotel I work at after the 31st. We all got the letter saying our furlough status was going to end on that date. We have to clean out our lockers by the end of the month . Also, we have to return our uniforms.
Mike Frith got it totally right . Your young too many people including me back then, think we should be “established” by our early 20’s, just go for it with what you want to do, you will be surprised where you might end up . You are I suggest very employable even in the current mess. You have proved your total dedication when you did gymnastics. I suspect the airline has you on the “A” list for rehires too.

hi julia, travel will pick back up again, someday definitely, but well, we don't know when. i was in a doctors office recently and he said this is not the new normal, they do not thinking of current situations as forever, but they don't know how long this virus will go on, so good and not so good news. it's ok to be sad about events, to stay positive in the face of uncertainty is real courage, good luck til next time.
