Definitely sounds like an allergic reaction to fabric detergent. If you find yourself in this position again, call the desk and ask if they have any linens reserved that are hypoallergenic. If not, use a spare shirt as a face cloth or pillow cover if you don’t have your own cloth/ cover.
i love how original your content is Julia! you dont plagerise or copy other people. so many youtube channels are rip offs of others these days. i love how unique yours is and your editing.
You're such a kind person. Thank you for continuing to serve as a flight attendant. They provide a necessary service and are not always appreciated. I really enjoy your channel. It's comforting, relaxing. Thank you!
Outfitter type stores sell lightweight towels. They're typically highly absorbent. Compressed towel tablets for camping are also a thing. They expand from a drop of water. Maybe do a little exploring online and see if anything would fit your needs. The t shirt over a pillow idea is a good suggestion. Suggest process of elimination to figure out what is causing your allergy attacks at that particular hotel so that you don't have to buy and carry a lot of things with you to protect yourself.
Hey Julie! NP and fellow allergen girlie- traveling with your own pillowcase use great. I also bring Zyrtec or Allegra as it helps the same as Benadryl and is much less sedating. Hope you feel better soon
You will enjoy Black Hills, South Dakota, Julia. From Mt Rushmore, to Crazy Horse, to the prairies, it's just beautiful to get away from technology and just visit the wilderness.
Glad you returned the book ( a little life) Your way too positive to goto down that rabbit hole. Side note. The Hotel. You could be allergic feather pillows. Check bedding next time and ask for foam pillows if see that makes a difference.
Hi Julia! Looks like you get lots of trips to Seattle. Not sure if you've gone over to West Seattle before, but if you haven't get on an Uber and go to West Seattle to Alki Beach. There's a nice 4 Mile or so (shorter than that if you start your walk at the main viewpoint) walk all along the waterfront there with a great view of the Seattle skyline, and places to eat across from the beach. There's also a small park with great viewpoints, that juts out into the Puget sound, it doesn't have an official sign there, but the name of the park is Luna Park!
I’m so glad you love the print! (I got behind on watching UA-cam - so sorry!) but I love where you have it displayed and just thought it would look great with your Fourth Wing books! Thank you for bringing so much joy and positivity through your videos❤
I feel awkward when I wear my work uniform too. I work odd hours, so I feel you there. I'm considering becoming a flight attendant and really enjoying watching your videos. I do love my sleep and am not one of those people that can sleep whenever, so I'm not crazy about that idea, but man, traveling to all those new places sounds so exciting. Plus, I do sleep well in hotels :).
I'm sorry you had an allergic reaction to something where you stayed. Despite that, I always enjoy your Seattle layovers as they always remind me of my favorite vacation and how I can't wait to return. Really enjoyed the Lunatornado at the end!
I feel you on the Saturday work issue. I used to fly out Sunday afternoon to Cleveland so i can be in that office first thing Monday morning. I feel you.
Hi Julia! I can totally feel you about the sad book thing. I absolutely love reading and I can tell you, I read many many books talking about grief and loss. At a certain moment though, you don't feel like doing it and need some rest. I started reading a psychological book three months ago approximately. It was so painful for me to dig in my subconscious and to resurface my inner fears that I had to stop. Enjoy your readings as much as you can, you're not supposed to struggle with it. Hugs from Italy
I recently had to replace my charger chord, I picked one up at Costco. I have been pleased with a number of my non food purchases. But when Anker was one of your sponsors and you shared some information about their products. Well I am even happier about the purchase. The for the reading suggestions.
Great vlog as always, Julia. Happy that you are feeling better. Just a thought, maybe you are allergic to maybe like the soap they use at that hotel to wash the towels and things. It's a great idea you had in bringing your own pillowcase and towel. I know another FA that does that. It was great to see a Luna Tornado!! Hope everything goes good on reserve for you
Hello Julia, talking about your allegies, when I was living in the west coast I do have issues with allegies, I know in Washington state the pollen is bad, also air is very clean, hope you feel better soon.
I have allergies to lots of washing powders so I usually pack my own towel and rather than buying myself a pillow case I wrap something that I have worn that day around the pillow - yes it might be dirty but at least I won't get an allergic reaction! Thanks for sharing your life xxx
I did South Dakota in 2019 with my daughter. It was great, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Bad Lands, Black Hills and a must see is Custer State Park. Also saw my first Rodeo in Mitchell SD. Always wanted to take the kids when they were younger but my daughter said as a kid wouldn’t have enjoyed the true beauty of it.
12:55 completely ok to vent, we can tell you aren't happy. Weird you didn't have this problem the evening you got in, maybe you were so tired. The indicators are there something at this hotel your body is tolerating well, please be prepared next time.
Hi Julia, I'm so glad you posted another vlog. I happen to love Seattle and have stayed at two different Motels there. Can't wait to go back to Seattle and see my son sometime soon
You may want to keep some Claritin Redi-Tabs in your travel meds kit. They work quickly, dissolve under your tongue, and don’t make most people drowsy. I’m super allergic to everything, and take two when I’m having a bad attack.
It’s the detergent at the hotel causing the reaction. Ask your fellow flight attendants, bet someone else has experienced this and hasn’t figured out why. Also look at their google reviews, good bet others have complained
Hi Julia! Could you give some advice to someone thinking about starting vlogging? You seem so natural doing it, and your videos are not only interesting but also very well put together. How did you start it? Weren’t you worried that maybe not many people would be interested in your content? Thanks!
Just travelled in Seattle last week and had the same issues with delays related to the cyberattack - I think we were there about 4-5 days after we started. When we got our return flight there was no information screens other than large poster boards with handwritten info on them, no wifi, the airline reps had to manually check all boarding passes and highlight it on paper - I even heard some people had handwritten boarding passes and checked bag tags. I've never experienced anything like this before 😅
Yay! Another Julia vlog! I legit look forward to your vlogs. Oh you were in Seattle again! Awesome! Be careful down there. It’s gotten bad. (Currently live in the Seattle metro) ❤ Yaaasss! The Pumpkin Creame cold Brew. I did yesterday.. quad shot iced espresso, apple syrup, and Carmel apple cold foam. ❤so… good. ❤ Happy Thursday Julia.
You’re right about 62 degree it’s cool in the shade. I second the other commenter about allergies some softeners and detergents are really bad and I have to be careful what I use. I love the old saying if you have a “sneaking suspicion”act on it.
Hi Julia.Long time subscriber.lovw ur videos. Love how Luna gets in her Zoomies mode.lol.thanks for being you and being so happy and positive. God Bless❤
Yeah Seattle airport suffered from a cyberattack, a week later it was still struggling to get things back to normal. The flight boards were down and they had messages posted to go online with your airline for flight info. Maybe another reason to download the airline app. To bad the hotel linen caused you and issue, you should have informed them so they are aware, just in case they changed vendor for cleaning products.
Julia I always pack my own towels and washcloths when traveling. I just don’t feel comfortable using towels that tons of others used. I’m funny like that. Feel better. 😀
Sorry you are having an allergic reaction to possibly the laundry detergent at that hotel. FYI, what i would do if possible, if you dont have a pillow case with you , try putting your tee shirt or sweatshirt over the pillow to sleep on. That should help somewhat. As for the towel, i dont have a solution for that but you can always use a clean sock for a washcloth when in a pinch. Good luck.
Hi Julia, it certainly sounds like you're allergic to something in the fabric with those towels, so maybe taking your own if you go back to that hotel again. Great to see Miss Luna doing a Luna Tornado. Looking forward to the next video.
Anytime I feel an allergic reaction, I use kids Benadryl instead of the adult version, especially when I need to work and cannot sleep. It definitely helps!!
Hoi, Julia, pretty interesting and informative work, as usual. A friend, currently hired with United base Denver, applied these days for CC work with American and asked for DFW as potential base. Greetings, Markus
I know it's to late your already home. But if that happens again. go wash your face again. let it just dry. I agree you need to keep a wash cloth and hand towel in your suit case. I remember you thought it was the pretty flowers. It must be the laundry soap they use. The Pike Place market is all ways full of people... like on the freeway bumper to bumper :) .
Great video! Seattle is definitely on my bucket list! Absolutely gorgeous part of the country!! My wife and I are great friends with a radio DJ out there. Also, just checking, did you receive a gift card for the Shady Maple restaurant for your birthday? Did it online, was hoping it got to you and Eric ok. Hi Julia 👋 I'm so sorry you had that awful reaction at that hotel. It's bad enough to feel bad, but worse when you're away from home. It makes me wonder what they're laundering their towels and bedding with. Good thing you had Benadryl to take. The deer were so pretty. That little doe stretching herself, super cute lol. Dear Julia; There are certain detergents that cause people to have allergic reactions. Have you notified the hotel you were staying at? I'm sure they love to know how to make their customers feel so much better. Geez, Luna is a crazy dog. She reminds me of Teddy, another Golden Retriever (AGuyandHisDog UA-cam channel.) Oh yes, I love the Anker products. All of you take care.
I definitely think you're probably allergic to the laundry detergent that the hotel is using. I had the same reactions and they stopped when I switched laundry detergent.
I noticed that American Airlines posted they are hiring FA trainees again. What percentage of people pass the training and are the odds good currently being a homeowner in DFW that I would stay at this hub location?
I will drive PAST a public place I need to stop at just to go out of my way to go home and change because that’s how much I hate wearing my uniform outside of work in public
When editing this video, I'm sure you may have noticed how dilated your pupils were when you had the allergic reaction. I watched it twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things. When editing this video, I'm sure you may have noticed how dilated your pupils were when you had the allergic reaction. I watched it twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I'm so glad you had a chance to take Benadryl and sleep through that episode. There is something in the bedding for sure.!! Take Care, Julia!!
Thank you & I agree, next time I stay at the hotel I’m gonna request hypo allergenic sheets/towels and bring my own pillowcase too!
You mentioned you have to get prepared for your reserve month in what way do you need to get prepared or just is mentally preparing ty!
Mentally while also getting my laundry done, having a bag packed & ready to go, meal prep etc. :)
