Some observations: 1. That view flying into Reagan never gets old. 2. Georgetown University and Georgetown actual has so many places to see. One of the hot tourist/Instagram spots are the "Exorcist" steps. 3. Mei Wah! I totally forgot about that place! Good choice. 4. The Sculpture Garden was the first Smithsonian "museum" to open back up. I used to love the Jazz in the Garden in the summertime. The NGA was I believe the second, but they initially only opened up one wing. I also love hanging by that fountain in the summer. In winter it's an ice skating rink. 5. My to-go place was always the Mall or the NGA when I had some time to spend. I jokingly referred to the Mall as my backyard, even though it was a Metro train ride to it 😁 6. Can't beat all of the free museums, and I am looking forward to going back once this pandemic slows down. 7. The lines at the Natural History museum was always insane unless you got there super early. But totally worth it! Thanks new dinosaur wing 😂 8. Smithsonian Castle was my rest/bathroom stop on the way to the memorials. 9. Lincoln Memorial. I mean, what more can be said of such a hallowed and revered place? WWII is my second favorite reflecting spot. 10. Come back again soon. There are so many hidden/not so touristy spots throughout 😊 11. And yeah, you will walk A LOT without even realizing it.

Seeing you walk the streets that I used to bike on when I was a child is so heartwarming. DC is a cool city and I’m so glad you got to explore more of it! Washington DC is such a great place to visit, I've been there several times, thanks to my flight benefits; I'm a Vietnam vet so I got to see the Vietnam memorial wall which meant a lot to me, also because I love aircraft I went to the Smithsonian museum near Dulles Airport, if you love airplanes that's the place to go, also the presidential memorials are great and so are the museums. I could go on and on, God bless you Julia and stay safe. If the airlines have a layoff, I don't think it will be for very long before they start calling people back.
Looks like you got to see most of what's open this summer. It is truly a rare opportunity to see the monuments with very light crowds. Hope you can see more next time.
Julia, you did an incredible job of capturing the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument on camera from the plane! I visited Washington D.C. once when I was in eighth grade, and I'd love to go back. Watching this video brought back a lot of sweet memories for me. Thank you for creating such a great vlog! The Sculpture Garden is about the only thing open on the national mall. Our museums have been closed for six months... Btw Clearwater Beach and Beer Can island would be nice to check out in Tampa. 😁

Wow...the extent of what I've seen of Georgetown before now, is the basketball team. That is a stunning campus..and yes that architecture!! Gorgeous descent into Reagan!! Yep you sure covered alot of territory and absolutely enjoyed every bit of it!! Could not ask for a better tour guide ;) Dinner looked yummy. Did you open your fortune cookie? :) Gee Luna should liven up more huh? LOL Well..you say you love being a flight attendant..and no doubt it's believable ! I work in the travel industry in the UK & was lucky enough to go on an all expenses paid work trip to Washington DC in 2013 & absolutely loved it! Will definitely be back to DC again.

Julia! Thank you for always taking us along on your adventures. It was super fun to get to see DC. That was a really great length of a layover too (especially for a deadhead). Next time you make it to the Tampa Bay area, I would recommend checking out the Don Cesar resort in St. Pete Beach. I'm thinking the beach on their property might not be public, but the structure itself is gorgeous and they have at least one bar and restaurant on site. I hope you have a great weekend and that Luna was able to get the extra playtime that she looked ready for! haha (:

oh man, i used to live in Baltimore and would regularly head to the national gallery, at least 4 or 5 times a year. it's definitely one of my favorite places. nice to see a glimpse of the place again.

I Loved seeing DC, it's been too long since we've been there, had it not been this Pandemic, we'd have visited family in MD/VA there in April......but that couldn't happen.....how adorable Luna was when you got home, lol, she wanted to go back out and play frisbee I think.....so sweet, so smart...........YES TACOS, yum!! Walking in DC in July, now that's nice and cool. So spooky seeeing GTU (and the mall) so empty. Have you ever done the Air and Space Museum? I think it is my favorite of the Smithsonians. Also the National Archives where the Decloration of Independence and Constitution are on display. Cool thing normally about DC is that there are so many museums that don't cost anything. (Well you pay taxes so I guess you already paid for them. If you like baseball the Nats stadium is also a great place to see a game. (Hopefully some day in the near future.) BTW, starting to look promising that the airlines will get another round of funding, hopefully that will be good news for you.
I would have LOVED to go into all the museums but unfortunately they are still closed, but it gives me something to do next time I have a long layover there!
You should one day visit Gallaudet University if you haven't already! The only Deaf University in the world! Thank you for the general description of the environment as I am DeafBlind (CC so helpful!)
I’m sat in a hotel at Heathrow, sadly not headed to the US - but that video got me nostalgic for DC. I miss that city. Thank you for always bringing a smile to my face and inspiring my wonderlust (and a touch of wanderlust!). Lunar is sooo cute. I really want to send her a frisbee! In fact, I may just do that!
I am a travel fanatic 😍✈️ my style is each country/city I visit, I will spend at least a couple weeks there , so I can get to learn more about the local culture, make friends , be more connected to the place , it makes me feel like I’ve lived there for a while instead of just being a tourist. 💕Even though I am not working a job that pays me to travel , I am lucky enough to have a job that has long holidays so it allows me to see the world the way I want ...... I am super grateful for every single day of my life . I love all your videos 💖 you always remind me to be more grateful for life

Forgot to mention this. Typically people don’t go to the beach here in Tampa at this time of the year (I live just north). The water temp is 91 degrees so u cool off by getting OUT of the water. Also, just in case u don’t know, CB is at least 1/2 hr drive from TIA.

Loved this video. DC is such a great place and you could spend days exploring all the sites and museums. I went back in the 70s as a kid and was there a few years ago but just drove through. Want to go again so badly. Thanks for the guided video tour, I enjoyed very much. Luna! She was happy to see her mommy! She is beyond adorable and I love seeing her in all of your videos. Had tacos myself tonight from Uncle Julios. They make the BEST steak fajita tacos. Swirl and regulate margaritas are $5 with the purchase of take away. Happy to see the sites we saw when there and happy to remember what a great trip it was. Sad because things are so different now. I want things to be “normal” again. I never thought I would struggle with the Covid Blues but it’s finally caught up with me. I saw Georgetown U and was sad thinking of how the students must feel. Ugh, sorry to be a downer. George Washington was literally President of the United States when the University (then college) was founded. It is a 'must see' and 'to do' when visiting the North East. I looks so incredible just from your video Jetting Julia. Buy any souvenirs? Still expensive? The Last time I was there was in 89. Looking forward to the beach trip video.
I love going to DC. I'm very lucky because I'm only 5 hours away from it whenever I feel like going to visit. My favorite museums are the 2 air and space museums downtown and adjacent to Dulles airport. My favorite is the Hazy center (next to Dulles) because it has the space shuttle Discovery, and a tower that you can watch Dulles flight ops. Can't recommend it enough for your next adventure in DC. Great vlog as always! Stay safe!
Washington is a great city. Deceivingly hot when walking around. When you all dead head, do you have to go to the counters to get your boarding passes or can you check in online? But def check out National Harbour next time if you have a long lay over. We fly into IAD, always a trek to get into the city but is great and not as rundown as Regan.
Jetting Julia good to know. That’s how you get upgraded to first class too :). It’s brutal trying to track down a dead head crew member. Especially if they are commuting and may or may not make the connection.
Hi Julia, thanks, a great vlog of my former home area. On a future D.C. layover and when coronavirus visitor restrictions are lifted, consider going to Arlington National Cemetery. Witnessing one of the interments, with horse drawn caisson, honor guard, firing party, folding & presentation of the American flag, and the playing of Taps is a moving experience. Also, observing the hourly changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns will make you proud. (My mother & father, aunt & uncle, and a cousin & his wife rest at Arlington, and it is a special place for our family.) Am really enjoying your videos!
DC is one of my favorite places to explore!! (Also thank you for answering my question about how you all trained Luna to hand you her toys). Luna and the zoomies was hilarious! My 7 pound Pomeranian does the zoomies, seeing a big dog also do this was hilarious!!! Thank you so much for sharing your life with me. Blessings and can not wait for the beach destination! I Loved seeing DC, it's been too long since we've been there, had it not been this Pandemic, we'd have visited family in MD/VA there in April......but that couldn't happen.....how adorable Luna was when you got home, lol, she wanted to go back out and play frisbee I think.....so sweet, so smart...........YES TACOS, yum!! Walking in DC in July, now that's nice and cool. So spooky seeeing GTU (and the mall) so empty. Have you ever done the Air and Space Museum? I think it is my favorite of the Smithsonians. Also the National Archives where the Decloration of Independence and Constitution are on display. Cool thing normally about DC is that there are so many museums that don't cost anything. (Well you pay taxes so I guess you already paid for them. If you like baseball the Nats stadium is also a great place to see a game. (Hopefully some day in the near future.) BTW, starting to look promising that the airlines will get another round of funding, hopefully that will be good news for you.
I would have LOVED to go into all the museums but unfortunately they are still closed, but it gives me something to do next time I have a long layover there!

I’m sat in a hotel at Heathrow, sadly not headed to the US - but that video got me nostalgic for DC. I miss that city. Thank you for always bringing a smile to my face and inspiring my wonderlust (and a touch of wanderlust!). Lunar is sooo cute. I really want to send her a frisbee! In fact, I may just do that!

I am a travel fanatic 😍✈️ my style is each country/city I visit, I will spend at least a couple weeks there , so I can get to learn more about the local culture, make friends , be more connected to the place , it makes me feel like I’ve lived there for a while instead of just being a tourist. 💕Even though I am not working a job that pays me to travel , I am lucky enough to have a job that has long holidays so it allows me to see the world the way I want ...... I am super grateful for every single day of my life . I love all your videos 💖 you always remind me to be more grateful for life

Forgot to mention this. Typically people don’t go to the beach here in Tampa at this time of the year (I live just north). The water temp is 91 degrees so u cool off by getting OUT of the water. Also, just in case u don’t know, CB is at least 1/2 hr drive from TIA.

Loved this video. DC is such a great place and you could spend days exploring all the sites and museums. I went back in the 70s as a kid and was there a few years ago but just drove through. Want to go again so badly. Thanks for the guided video tour, I enjoyed very much. Luna! She was happy to see her mommy! She is beyond adorable and I love seeing her in all of your videos. Thank you so much for this video! It’s bittersweet. We traveled to DC last year and this video made me both happy and sad. Happy to see the sites we saw when there and happy to remember what a great trip it was. Sad because things are so different now. I want things to be “normal” again. I never thought I would struggle with the Covid Blues but it’s finally caught up with me. I saw Georgetown U and was sad thinking of how the students must feel. Ugh, sorry to be a downer. While it’s an odd time, I’m still so glad to see your videos and super excited to see what beach you get to visit. Hugs to you guys and a big fat furry hug to Luna. 💕💕

George Washington was literally President of the United States when the University (then college) was founded. It is a 'must see' and 'to do' when visiting the North East. I looks so incredible just from your video Jetting Julia. Buy any souvenirs? Still expensive? The Last time I was there was in 89. Looking forward to the beach trip video.
I love going to DC. I'm very lucky because I'm only 5 hours away from it whenever I feel like going to visit. My favorite museums are the 2 air and space museums downtown and adjacent to Dulles airport. My favorite is the Hazy center (next to Dulles) because it has the space shuttle Discovery, and a tower that you can watch Dulles flight ops. Can't recommend it enough for your next adventure in DC. Great vlog as always! Stay safe!
Washington is a great city. Deceivingly hot when walking around. When you all dead head, do you have to go to the counters to get your boarding passes or can you check in online? But def check out National Harbour next time if you have a long lay over. We fly into IAD, always a trek to get into the city but is great and not as rundown as Regan.
I think we can do both, I always check in at the counter with the agents though so they know I'm here :)
Jetting Julia good to know. That’s how you get upgraded to first class too :). It’s brutal trying to track down a dead head crew member. Especially if they are commuting and may or may not make the connection.

Hi Julia, thanks, a great vlog of my former home area. On a future D.C. layover and when coronavirus visitor restrictions are lifted, consider going to Arlington National Cemetery. Witnessing one of the interments, with horse drawn caisson, honor guard, firing party, folding & presentation of the American flag, and the playing of Taps is a moving experience. Also, observing the hourly changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns will make you proud. (My mother & father, aunt & uncle, and a cousin & his wife rest at Arlington, and it is a special place for our family.) Am really enjoying your videos!
