The tip is...Go to the restaurant where the locals are most crowded
That is usually good advice but after what happened today I would add that you have to be savvy when it comes to scams

And pho is noodles and pork

@@Jarod_Abroad When i was there a few month ago, i took xanh the electric bike just download their app, I dont like grab and be is because it use gas and pollute.
I am here now and have been for a week. Grab taxis are really convenient. Just wander the food markets and you will find food is really good and cheap. Banh Mi (baguette with pork and salad) or Pho (soup with meat with noodles) are good local foods. My advice is to walk around and get a feel for the area. Have fun.

Why not just use Google Maps to locate all the nearby restaurants and then view their menus before you go? That's what I always do...and you shouldn't expect them to speak English or provide English menus...it's Vietnam not South Africa.
I don’t expect them to speak English I just mentioned that it’s rare to find someone that speaks English. That is actually really sound advice, but when I don’t plan things like that there are sometimes happy accidents where I discover something that I wasn’t expecting that I really enjoy or visa versa where I order something that completely puts me off. It’s like a surprise haha

it's dirtier, more beggars, terrible food, where the woman will scam you, slow internet, bad infrastructure, much more crime, and plenty of hurricanes and earthquakes
@@Jarod_Abroad because Filipinos are notorious overzealous,, super proud and they think their country an everything about it is the best in the world. One cannot argued against them with that . They will go to war with you on why their country is the best in Asia, best in Southeast Asia.
Anything good u said about their country and ppl willl get a million views LOL the reverse is that if u say anything bad especially how terrible their food it, they will cursed at you and run you out of the country!
U can’t expect all of the locals to speak English . If u don’t speak any Vietnamese u can use goggles translator. I thought we the American people get bad reputation because we expected others to speak English wherever we go 😂
I don’t expect locals to speak English, I just mentioned that it’s difficult to find someone who does haha but yeah google translate is the way to go in this scenario but I’m pretty sure American people have a reputation here for something a bit more serious than expecting local people to speak English…
