When the media talked about his music and they weren't busy bashing him and his private life.
They started bashing him after he brought the Beatles catalog damn shame smh
@@frederickifill3107 MJ was starting to get bigger than the music industry. I really think he could be the one to unite all races, gender and cultures through music.

One of humanities greatest failures was not inventing HD tv in time for Michael Jackson
peach restores does some amazing HD restoration of MJ videos, commercials, and interviews.
It's incredible
Most of these footages were shot in 16mm/35mm film, so it can be scanned in 4K..!
Period my friend. That is so true🤓
Facts! But the industry could easily fix all videos. They choose not too smh. One of the biggest things I wish us fans would fight for.
Very little HD of live Off the wall.
So crazy to see him oblivious to everything he’s about to achieve.
So true
True at this point all he knew musically involved his Brothers.. He wrote a letter to himself this exact year manifesting becoming the biggest Artist of all time boy did he accomplish that and more..
RIP Michael Jackson the greatest humanitarian and artist of all Time
This is my favorite era of Michael soley because you can see the excitement in him even though he was lonely , he looks happier than any other era I have seen him in
Things really changed after the pepsi commercial accident.
Yes, he was so excited in all the footage of this video. Incredible how consistant his mood was even if he was sometimes really exhausted.
True
True😢
Actually though ... this was his saddest point in his life. He said he was so lonely he would go out at night and ask if ppl would be his friend then got emotional talking about it.
There’s 2 types of artists in the music industry
1. Michael Jackson
2. And others ...

@@thedetail. I think it's high time you did a video on Michael's influences and moves he created himself.

I always consider Michael Jackson's Off The Wall album to be a party album. The late 70's Mike was out partying at the nite clubs with his brother Marlon.
He was hanging out @ STUDIO 54 w/ JANET & that inspired OFF THE WALL somewhat ❤️
@@donjonesmusic860 Not Janet, she was too young, you mean LaToya???
@@SimplyMeica NO , janet was @ studio 54 with him a few times when she was a minor.she told the story several times about a car driving upon them walking from the club and they gave them a envelope and they opened it and it was full of cocaine and they threw it in the garbage.

He's so adorable!
I loved this era 1978 to 1982. He was so fine and in the best voice.
Michael stated what many artist state. When on stage they are a totally different person. He is shy in person but a beast on the stage. Kinda like an out of body experience.
the fact that this album has twenty two years more then me and i’m still jamming to it. genious. icon. legend. KING.
Still a lit album in 2021. Greatness can never truly die
Exactly I’m 37 and this is actually my favorite MJ album this thing is a gem 💎

This one of the beautiful years and era to cherish of Michael but it's so underrated. He was just doing him, free off the media attacks.

Hello Helen Tudor how are you doing today I hope you are having a great day
This is honestly one of the best albums transitioning to a solo career ever made and it couldn't have been done better and I heard Quincy Jones say he prefers it over Thriller.

One of his best years Vocal Wise by far.
Yea Off the Wall was his best album vocally as an adult. Arguably the best album ever

His best album overall. I SAID WAT I SAID
The Greatest Duo ever Artist Songwriter/Arranger/Producer ever in music history Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones. Three masterpiece albums that took over the world 🌎🌍 and broke records Off The Wall,Thriller and Bad...
Yes, brilliant work and Bad was an artistic masterpiece with all the new sounds, new technology in the videos and different styles in music and fashion.
Bad is definitely my favorite album by Mike. Then Off The Wall and then Thriller. Mike was awesome at this point.
Stevie, you must have NEVER heard of Music Composer/Arranger Rod Temperton. he composed several of Michael's biggest hits....The lady in my life, Off the wall, Rock with you, and Thriller.

"As long as security tight, I'll be tight" - Right on, Michael!
Michael was the music king of the 70s 80s and 90s
Absolutely
@@jarrettcone8949 Yessir
Yes
@@appleheadsgirl7194 your name is factually correct
Of the 80s? For sure no daubt about it he was the absolute king of that decade, but 70s and 90s? Not at all.
"As long as security tight, I'll be tight" Mike was too smooth
The year where his solo career took off
Not really. The solo album begins in 1971 for MJ. He is the first and youngest Member of the Jackson family to release a solo album other than Jackson 5.
P.S.
First album: Got to be there. It released on 24 January 1972, earlier than Jermaine Jackson's first album by months.
Thanks for focussing on the period between Jackson 5 and Thriller.. I think it was a very important period for Michael Jackson.
Can you imagine explaining to someone who never saw MJ prior to his Bad album, that this young man is the same guy?
The colorism is very real in the MJ fan base.
He was so shy and soft spoken ! But when he was on stage it was a different story !!
Rest in peace king of pop you will be always remembered
Us as fans really need to give greater respect and honor to his entire family including Joseph. They are an American Dynasty even Royalty and should be treated as such. They all did the impossible.
Until the first false allegations in August 1993 he felt most comfortable on stage and in 2009 he was scared to death going on stage. So terrible and sad to think about it.
1979 was also dominated actually by Donna Summer who had both the number 1 song and album at the same time. She was churning out hit after hit that year on pop, disco and R&B charts.
He's the one and only on this planet and there's no one on this earth like him. He's the one of a kind still missing you the king😭
I'ma be 💯 this is my favorite version of Micheal Jackson 😭🥺🥺🥺😭 He had the moves on point then❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I just think he’s so beautiful during this time period.
The Off The Wall era will always be my favorite 🤗
Fact : Even tho the quality is SICK i never complain since it’s Michael Jackson
I was at the Nassau Coliseum show. November 8, 1979. LTD was the opening act. I was 15! What a memory! Destiny, Off The Wall and Triumph were my favorite recordings/tours and 1979-1981 was , musically, the best time!
