      Great review.
      In your opinion are the X-S20 video and photo colours TRUE TO LIFE? Because when I look at every single review of Fujifilm cameras including this one, it has a VERY COLD colour tone in my opinion. The Sony A6700 looks way more vibrant but I don't know if the Sony is over saturating and Fujifilm is actually the true to life one? When I see people review it I'm not sure if they are using it to record themselves or not but on white guys it makes their skin look pasty and washed excessively white a bit washed out. Your camera looks darker than real life how can the wall be so light grey on the left and dark grey on the right, skin looks excessively orange and shaded right side looks excessively dark. Something just feels off.

    For what it's worth this has been my favorite Fuji camera. Before this i had the XH1 and the XT3. No stabilization didn't work for me on the xt3 and on both the battery life was very bad. This has a flippy screen and nice size grip and battery lasts a long time. This easily had been my favorite Fuji camera.

    I think that the X-S20 is way more than an „entry level“ camera. It might be for Fuji but not for other brands. It is a very capable device for 99% of the people out there. And you can expect future updates with more functions.
    An entry level camera would be something for way under 1000 EUR.

    I love this camera! I’ve had it two weeks and feels like such an upgrade from my phone. I’m new to photography but not videography and wanted something that can do both and still be an everyday carry. I love the tactile settings to get out of my head and focus on the world around me. The simulations mean that I use both jpeg and raw but don’t need to edit every shot. I love that as I progress I have headroom to play with and do more. Great video!

    I use the XE1 still as a pro camera and it does the job aswell as when National geografic photographers used it 12 years ago. I also use the XS10 without any complaints. I think we should buy more used gear and learn the gear before buying new gear. I reccon it takes at least a few years to really learn a camera. That's why professionals don't buy new gear that often. I still see alot of pros using 10 year old cameras.

    • @Jay_Ducker
      @Jay_Ducker  Рік тому

      This is a fair point! And you’re right however good this new camera might be, if it isn’t in ones budget, then there are plenty of absolutely sterling cameras out there. That point is being proved time and time again on UA-cam.

    No camera has 'limitless' recording capabilities. I have the same camera, and with a very fast 128GB card, it only records for just over 45 minutes. It's the card limit, not the battery. With a 256GB card I can record up to about 1:20 minutes continuously (with full battery charge). Let's just say it's not restricted to the old 29:59 minute cripple.

    Did you know that the xs20 has a hidden dual gain iso feature when using flog 2
    The second base iso kicks in at iso 3200 when using flog2 giving a cleaner footage than iso 2000 thus making it a low light beast when paired with a lens like the Siriu t1.2 sniper lens series and yes they have autofocus that is similar to what viltrox offers
    This thing is a small beast with lots of hidden features
    Also setting lens profiles for ibis will make any lens very smooth to operate handheld and minimizes the wobbles when duck walking
    This camera is a beast and specially in low light specially with that fine grain noise pattern

I travel a lot for work and occasional lunch get a day to walk around doing street photography so the size would help. It I also like to film my mate mountain biking. I'm looking for a beginner setup probably only ever for personal use (photos and videos from vacations, family life, nature, etc) and I consider getting either X-T30 II or X-S20 paired with FX 18-55mm to start with. I can help you with real world experience. I live in the Southern US and daytime temperatures have been in the mid 90s F for most of the summer. I did some testing when I got the camera and was filming hummingbirds under a covered porch. I was shooting 4k 30 fps, making cuts varying from 15 seconds to 90 seconds. After 20 minutes, the warning sign came on. This was with the camera set to normal temp.
      On another shoot, when the outside temp was a more moderate 85 F, I filmed outside, both in and out of shade for about 45 minutes, taking 10-15 second cuts with normal breaks in between. At the very end, the temp warning icon appeared. Like before, it was just yellow.
      I didn't set the temp warning to high temp, I'm not ready to stress the camera that much. I bought a fan and haven't had the warning icon appear. I consider the fan a required accessory, especially for folks planning to film Vlog length or longer cuts.
      It is a fabulous camera, just what I was looking for. I also have the E1, E2s, E3 and H1.
