The reason for the Canadian flags is that building is Canada House, which is the Canadian High Commission (it's the embassy but called something different because Canada and the UK are both Commonwealth nations)
The balls in round 3 will be steel not brass - Sheffield was the centre of the UK steel-making industry
Primark is a clothing shop, low-middle market I think
The nets in round 5 are indeed for cricket batting practice. Plymouth is emphatically not Cornwall, it's proud of being on the Devon side of the border!
Thanks for the info! That's amazing about cricket batting practice - same thing for baseball!
BTW - Primark is an inexpensive clothing retailer known for very large stores in city centres throughout the UK.
Can you do Moray, Scotland? 😊
They are known as cricket nets rather than cages. The batter would say, “I’m going for a net”.
Primark is a clothing retail chain, mostly budget fashion. There are close to 200 branches in the UK, one of which I work at, so if a Primark game exists there'd be plenty of locations. :)
I wonder if anyone would be interested in me playing a Primark Geoguessr game?
@@alloverthemap23 Well, it's a popular chain, so maybe. I would be, at the very least. :)
Round 1: No moving necessary, as a Londoner that is very easy!
Round 2: This feels like Manchester, 0161 phone code confirms it. I hunt around ages trying to work out where we are, drop a load of points after mistaking Shaw Street for Spaw Street. Not happy with myself for that.
Round 3: This feels like Leeds but not quite. Move around until I see Sheffield City Council signs, ah that explains it. A few yards away but no dropped points
Round 4: A whole lot of nothing, is this Milton Keynes? No, that says Northumbria University - so we're in Newcastle. I visited there about 25 years ago, can I remember where it is. The answer is not quite but not far off.
Round 5: Pretty, but this doesn't feel like a city centre so it's a smaller city. Possibly northern, could this be Lancaster? The bus stop says Ford Park Road, that doesn't help now but will be useful later. A bit more random moving around and I find South West Landlords and Plymouth Homes - well that's definitely not Lancaster! I zoom in on Plymouth looking at all the parks until I find Ford Park, after that it's easy.
Rooney is at Plymouth Argyle - well, for the next few months 😂
Ha - how long do you think he lasts there?
Plymouth is in Devon not Cornwall. The boundary between the two counties is the River Tamar, just to the west of Plymouth.
IF England had won, it's unlikely that Sadiq Khan would have allowed celebrations!
Love all your UK Map content!
Thanks!
