Lol sometimes I think you're just going for more watch time with these. In the first round Forssa is visible straight away on the map amongst maybe only 8 names. My favourite Kotipizza pizza is the TEXAS MONSTER. I don't think it has anything to do with Texas, but it's just 5 different meats and also dough sticks baked onto the pizza + garlic dip on the side. Don't go there very often, or any other fast food, because everything is very expensive nowadays.
It takes a LONG time (for European standards) to drive across the north coast of Norway! I’ve been lucky enough to visit Bergen before, its an incredible (but EXTREMELY expensive country), you should visit if you can! Id love to visit more of the country especially the north
16:35, The world's largest hybrid-ship (diesel and battery) is in the background. Color Hybrid is the name. Capacity of 2000 persons and 500 cars.
Oh that’s so cool!
How dare they grow a tree in front of the Kotipizza sign on round 4! 😂 The location at the Shell Outokumpu is still there as well, just missing from maps for some reason
07:44, the first ever Nordic light observation center was built there, far away in the background in the 1800s. Used by scientists until 1926. Alta is one of the places on earth where you are the most likely to see the northern lights.
Tied 1st for accuracy ... I'll take that. I was born in the city of round #4, btw. Keep more Norway coming, and you know what I am going to say next: Tunnels! :D www.geoguessr.com/maps/63c3026e2556bbce14ea5783
8:52 Tuna & pineapple :) 10:28 Outokumpu = Weird Mound
@11:05 there's a Musta Pörssi. A household appliance and electrics store chain that seized to excist in 2015. Lots of views have changed over the years and google maps footage is nowhere near to be predictable in exact timing.
Love these videos, espacially as a norwegian! Im from Trondheim, beautiful city! Keep up the good work :)
You should do airports in Norway too😊alot of them here
Who is NeddlePugh, who completed this challenge in 96 seconds?! I've made a series of maps "Villages of Britain and Ireland" from A to Z. They're quite hard because some of the villages are tiny hamlets, but at least you always know what letter of the alphabet they start with!
Pack your raingear for a Bergen trip. Most rainy city in Europe in fact.
God dag, hvordan går det? Hi, good day, how are you you?😊 Is there any fishing ports challenges in this?
"Den beste tiden er den du deler med andre" means "The best time is the one you share with others", but it is a sort of play on words. I think they want you to share your time AND your pizza with others.
not hating, but i think you should invest in a better microphone.
You are not zooming in enough. You see more streets!
Funnily enough I had a pizza made with Peppe's pizza dough today. I have actually eaten at the first location, I think last time was in 1999. The third location I recognised as well :) Edit: Alta to Kirkenes is 6 hours if you go via Finland, 7 hours if you want to stay in Norway
Well done once again. On one round you understood right that Yliopiston Apteekki is indeed the Pharmacy of University. It was founded in 1755 and is owned by Helsinki University. The profit is used for research and education. The blue streetlight poles on the last round are probably just because the municipality has wanted them to be "stylish". I know the place of the last round well, but haven't eaten at the Kotipizza there, because I have eaten at Subway instead 😀
Two from Bergen! Hooray! As the first Norwegian pizza chain Peppes did a good job, and we did go to Peppes or the copy cats (Jeppes!) back in the days. Haven‘t been to Peppes for 15-20 years, but as far as I know the restaurants are still very nice, with good service and not too crazy prices. But IMO, the pizzas are bland. Not bad, just very forgettable. Tasted occasionaly as overtime/long, late meeting delivered food. Not a lot has changed since 1985. Maybe other parts of the menu will fare better? Don‘t know. There are so many very good alternatives to the big chains now.
Kotipizza = Home pizza. Koira = Dog. Kanagyros = Chicken gyros. Some street names in Tampere (Sampo, Tapio, Pohjola, Väinölä, etc.) are characters or objects from Kalevala lore. These can be found in areas of Tampere that begin with "Kaleva." Many gas stations along "interstates" have some kind of franchise, such as Kotipizza, Hesburger, or Rolls -especially nowadays, as you often have to wait for your car to charge. The food is generally tasty, though somewhat expensive. "Onnibussi" (Lucky Bus) offers an affordable way to travel between major cities. The routes cover most of southern Finland, extending as far north as Rovaniemi.
The word dog between 2 food related words looks odd 😅 The food is decent but very overpriced, personally I don't like KP or Hesburger. Rolls I have never tried.
So many alternatives these days, but you still can't go wrong with Peppe's :)
LOL i recognised 3 of them (well The eria it were in)and have eten in 2 of them and its The first and last one in The video
Love that you play Norway more often Now. You should play some historic games, like fortresses, churches, medieval etc. You sees to do it a lot in britain and Finland games.
Sandefjord represent! Peppes only has a small section outside (to where the sign and board is), the rest is James Clark, probably the most popular bar in the city. At 16:28 you can see Color Hybrid, the ferry that goes to Sweden twice a day, ticketprice 60 kroners (approximately 5 USD). Thats not a church lol, its Kokeriet, another bar and restaurant. The norwegian attempt is pretty spot on btw!
Probably worth mentioning that Color Hybrid is the biggest Hybrid ship on Earth as well.
Cheese, tuna, and ham is the pizza I eat at Kotipizza. Once or twice a year.
How come you have gotten so interested in Finland?
Favorite Kotipizza hard to say, but the one with reindeer meat is quite nice. and has a cool story behind it
Thanks for watching! Takk for at du så på!
Just discovered your channel. I’m from Brumunddal. Really enjoying these videos
AONB stands for Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
PS I know Phone Booth is an American term, but Phone box :) , although surprisingly a fair few "towns" in a village search though? :) Also Broadstairs isn't in either Sussex or Essex - it's in Kent :)
Kiitos katsomisesta! Check me out on X : twitter.com/AllOverTheMapYT
Funnily enough, I visited friends in Broadstairs on Saturday, then went to Henley to see my Wife's family on the drive back home.
Was shouting Alfriston to you but it didn't help. Walked down the road many times to walk the dogs round the long man of Wilmington hill figure.
Round 1: First thought is that this is going to be Essex or Kent given the architecture. There is a very helpful sign sayign we're in Tillingham and giving a CM postcode, which I believe is Chelmsford. I don't immediately see it when looking around there on the map, so I head south untli I see a sign pointing to Southminster on the B1021 which puts us further east than I had been looking but once I'd located Southminster it was easy to see Tillingham and from there get 5 yards away. Round 2: This is stretching the definition of "village" given the sign pointing to a town hall, but a single step towards the market place brings up a sign advertising the Henley Literature Festival. From that it's just a question of following the Thames until I find Henley. 1 yard away. Round 3: After a few miles heading south all I can say we're in Alfriston which is near the South Downs Way but no more. Returning to the start and heading north I quickly find we're in the Wealden District Council area and then about a mile up the road finally a helpful sign pointing to Seaford finally allowing me to get enough precision to find Alfriston. 3 yards away. Round 4: We're on an east-facing coast and The Charles Dickens would suggest that we're in Kent. I don't find anything that tells me more preceisely on the sea front so I head inland until I reach a junction putting us between Ramsgate and Margate. That is enough for me to find the Lillyput minigolf and then the Charles Dickens musuem. 2 yards. Round 5: The Sun Inn doesn't tell me anything useful and I can't quite read the Church sign, but Essex House tells us the county and The Marlborough puts us in Dedham. I know where Dedham Vale is as I had a lovely walk there a few years back, so I zoom in on that part of the county and soon spot Dedham. 5 yards away. Overall: 15 yards in 22 minutes, not bad but I could have done better on that first round.
Most of these were pretty easy for a Norwegian, if you've been around or seen various places in the country. I instantly recognized most.
I live on the island Askøy........near the big city Bergen🙂
I respect you.
Both Sussex, Essex and the former Wessex are all old Saxon Kingdoms. The names were basically derived from the terms South Saxons, East Saxons & West Saxons
*E*ssex is *e*ast of London. *S*ussex is *s*outh of London. The first digit that a road number begins with rotates clockwise from 1 to 5 around London. B1021 begins with a 1 so that tells you to look north east of London. Incredible that you saw that hill and instantly knew it was the South Downs around Brighton.
Be careful when you do print out a map of the counties as we have different types of counties, and over the last few decades some counties have disappeared and in some cases come back. Some maps may also include all 4 Yorkshires as a single county. When you are on streetview, some old county signs will still be up for places like huntingdonshire or cleveland
Hahah, I was actually outside the hotel at location no 3(?) Vettre, last year. Very randomly, since it's close to nowhere and the only reason I was there was because of the progressive rock festival "We Låve Rock" :D
Paystee is someone who looks white and ILL, PASTIE PASS Tee is the legend than is the best Cornwall thing to eat ever Pasteeeee not party that rhymes with pastry EEEE and Paste like wall paper paste then EEEE not moaning mate just educating
Hey mate was so excited u got to see Camberley, my next town 3.5 miles away !!! random, see if u get mine one day
The first village is not too far from me and the area is generally called the Dengie peninsula. those wooden slat houses are very common there and it feels like you're so far from civilization when you're out there and it's tiny villages and wide open farmers fields as far as you can see. There's a lot of history out there including one of the oldest churches in the UK and its also one of the first places the Romans built permanent fortifications although there is not much of these today. It's about as rural as you can get in the south tbh and is what most of it looked like before the commuter belt reared its head. It's a weird place. On the one hand you feel like as you hinted, back in time since everything is very old world and modern conveniences seem a world away aside from the cars and occasional modern house, but you're only about an hour and a bit outside of London on the train.
I definitely have to visit these places and it's pretty cool that it's an hour away from London via train...
On the subject of unusual looking older buildings, it's worth remembering that there have been periods of relatively major Dutch migration to England, so you sometimes see Dutch styles in older buildings - particularly around the time of the colonisation of the modern US. Second one I agree, that's a market town, not a village. Henley, of course, is very famous for its regatta and rowing. Broadstairs also not a village. "I wonder what's going on there" - not Easter yet :) AONBs I see people have said what it stands for but I'd add that the best way of thinking of them is as one step off national parks - they're quite restrictive about development, but not as restrictive as the national parks, there's a bunch of other features to them but that's the practical difference.
Broadstairs is not in Essex or Sussex. Its in Kent.
I need to study the counties map!
Amazing video, VERY bad map haha! Several of these are definitely towns and they were not spread out across the country at all. Beautiful villages are DEFINITELY not just in the south-east. Wolftrekker is usually reliable, although I havent played his English Villages map. Also, people have already mentioned that AONB is ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ but nobody mentioned yet that in practice it’s basically the level below a national park, somewhat like the USA’s ‘state parks’ !
Thanks for the info - good to know. I need to find a proper villages map
Your identification of landscape is INCREDIBLY impressive! Better than this British geography nerd thats for sure!! The fact you recognised that hill was south coast near Brighton is incredible 👏
Thanks. It stood out to me because it reminded me of a few places in the US that I've been. Not used to seeing that landscape on these games in the UK.
We really are SO incredibly lucky in the UK with how beautiful our country is. Most people don’t appreciate it so its amazing that you do!
So many different things to see around every corner!
I live in Staines. Well almost. Ashford.
Thanks for watching!
