  • This addition to your short bed truck is a lifesaver, With the proper use of a couple ratchet straps and safe loading practices, you can haul 16' long lumber in the back of your 5' bed truck.
You can buy the bed extender here: amzn.to/2TF8b6J
Here is a nice set of ratchet straps I found on Amazon to go with the extender: amzn.to/2TleSfm
Here's another good set of ratchet straps: amzn.to/2IlWzAu

They work great. I made one a few years ago. I saw my Buddy's extender and took measurements from his and went to my shop and welded one up out of 2" square tubing in about 1 hour. I made enough tie downs as well. Thanks for sharing.

I’m also moving from a 1st gen Ridgeline to a new Tundra. I can’t believe how many things Honda got right about the bed that traditional truck makers still haven’t figured out. The lack of ground level tie downs being one.

Cantilever. Thanks for the new word. I'm going to grab one of these. Need to grab 10, 12-ft deck boards with a short bed. Thanks for the legit review.

Everything about this video is hilarious!!
“Wayy too fuckin far”! And “this was bad yesterday I lost like four boards on the highway”! 😂

What’s hilarious? Boards made it home safe and sound this way.

Nice video, lack of bullshit. "Half-ass flag" part got me. Gonna get one of these for myself, like you this appears to be the right solution. Well done.

My ladder rack works fine for long boards etc. I guess this allows more weight and better for 4x8 sheets . Thumbs up..

With that much wood sticking off the back, I'd be worried about the truck doing a wheelie.

Nice video, thanks for getting to the point and the quick demo. You think I could use this for a 12ft aluminum Jon boat? My truck bed is 7ft with the tailgate down. Thanks again.

Any concern of damaging the hitch receiver since it was designed for pull force vs downward force?
