My wife’s grandfather is 104 years old. He has lived in rural Thailand his whole life. He grew up on a diet of 99% locally grown rice and fruit. He had 10 children and to this day he’s sadly outlived all but 3 of them. His kids generation lived in a time when pork, chicken and food processing became huge industries in Thailand as it is in the USA. The grandfather continued eating the diet of his youth, rice and fruit. His son, My wife’s dad died from cancer at barely 60 years old.
Edit. My wife tells me the first and only time in his life he went to see a doctor was when he got covid at age 102. He slept in the hospital 2 nights as a precaution (considering his age) and then was returned home.

Was it whit jasmine rice, or did all the rice have fiber. I love white rice so much and hate brown 😂. But I know supposedly white rice is not as good.
Anyway been living on jasmine rice for years, I eat at least 3-4 cups a day 👍

I think it’s really cool that eating the cheapest and the simplest way is also the most nutrient-dense and health-promoting.
It’s like the people doing this are a small contingent of hopefuls at war with the world - the last hold-outs determined to last through the centuries so long as we’re successful in teaching our ways to our offspring.
We’re in the know. This is awesome. It’s like having an invisibility or immunity cloak during the zombie apocalypse.
