  • I hope you have your party outfit ready because we dance, rap, and reminisce with the legendary Chef AJ as we celebrate the 10th anniversary and re-release of her book, Unprocessed - Revitalize Your Health with Whole Foods.
    AJ has been a dear friend for many years and there is never a dull moment with this one. Of course, she’ll also make you laugh with her hilarious quotes and anecdotes, but the thing that makes Chef AJ so special is that she knows how to educate about sustainable weight loss in a way that is both simple and profound.
    I’m thrilled to welcome Chef AJ today, but heck, we could call her “Chef A-HA” because I know you’re going to have plenty of “a-ha” moments after this episode.

    I have gone back and forth with veganism. Both times that I stopped the vegan lifestyle was because I felt socially isolated even though I really believed in it.. A vegan smoothie bar/ restaurant opened up near me and I reached out asking if there was any sort of meetup or support group in the area. Found out there is a meetup monthly at their place and also a group that gets together for dinners, barbecues, etc. I'm going this weekend and so excited! You just have to reach out and talk to people. They are out there 💕

    I've listened to somewhere around 50 to 100 Chef AJ Live podcasts, and failed to realize how much PASSION she has (since with her podcasts she is the interviewer instead of the interviewee). I can't help but to think that being whole food, plant exclusive is what keeps her ENERGY levels sky high. This was a great listen!

    • @Goodbyeeveryonehere
      @Goodbyeeveryonehere Місяць тому +1

      I'm plant exclusive and have endless energy, without being "driven".meaning if ive done my usual exercise 1-3 hours of daily walking, and someone came to my house and asked me to go out and do something, I'd still have the energy but don't need to be moving all the time so that I don't feel uncomfortable. After an hour of walking I'm fine, but if I'm working that day I'll walk there and back which is 3 hours.

    Food addiction is so real. I’m very proud of you AJ, for taking matters into your own hands. I keep trying to muster the strength to walk away from oil - dang that cheese! At 62 and around 80 pounds overweight, I’m feeling overwhelmed and like it’s getting too late in life to turn things around. I think I’m just going to have to commit to a week of compliance and take it from there.

    I keep it simple in my kitchen, I don't need an air-fryer (I tried one, and returned it as I didn't think it was anything special), or an instant pot or a rice cooker or even a food processor. I have a box grater, steel pots and pans, a non-stick pan and a microwave, that's it! I bought a food processor last year but never used it.

    I came accros you chef aj and then found out about rip, on UA-cam and have been watching so many videos and because ive eaten so healthy for years but not exactly just purely plant based and since 4 months ago and because I have self learnt over the years about why cutting all the rubbish out of our diets and why its so important and what it does to your body , ive have for years been like you both trying to show the bennifits of eatjng healthy, plus its a real passion of mine , I've always eaten extremely healthy but never purely plant based , then 4 months back I decided that's it cut all sugers out and turned to just plant based eating for me I went all in because I've more orders eaten this way anyway so I've found it so easy ,it's just learning for ne what I can make but so much healthier , both of you are absalutly inspiration to me and exactly what you say about why we get these illnesses and issues in everyone's life thus is what I've always said all along for years but never heard it from anyone out there its the food that makes us ill don't even get me started lol it really angers me that people don't understand the power of healthy eating and the serious bad health that the food company's sell us that makes us ill, with all manner of issues, I could go on and on, I watched for the first time dr mcdougall speech last night on UA-cam omg he just reitarated exactly what I've thought for years about the food we consume, it was a real light bulb moment to hear what he said I thought at last someone is speaking the truth about the food that is harming us, but yo uou both aj and rip I absalutly love to listen to what you have to say, because I think people like my self and everyone who wants to eat healthy should listen find info on this plant based subject and learn listen and learn from people like your selves there's always more you can learn and the more we learn the easier people like me will find it when ut comes to plant based eating, you can never have enough knowledge and you can learn ure self , like I've done, aj and rip ime from UK and absalutly think you both are brilliant ime learning even more because of you 😉

      I would be very skeptical of this. I work in healthcare and see a lot of bad advice - some with research to back it. Watched a friend of mine shrivel away from advice he should stop eating fiber - he had Crohn's and ended up with multiple bowel surgeries (he did not go vegan even though he thought about it). Same with diabetics etc. Also lost my Cousin to MS. She was told to eat high protein diet with meat. Needless to say she dwindled and ended up losing function.

      @walkingwithbenedict please look into Dr Booke Goldner at Good Bye Lupus. She is amazing and works and cures autoimmune diseases using plant based nutrition.

    I don’t like this guy he was on the rich roll podcast a few years ago and I wrote him on FB telling him I enjoyed listening to him
    I asked him one question and he wrote me I needed to buy his book, he wouldn’t answer it
    Arrogant
    And 💰 is his focus

      Surprised that you experienced Chef AJ that way. I don't think there is an ounce of arrogance in her.

      @@kathyjoyyful everyone has an ego. Just so you know. Surely she’s a wonderful woman, however, when I asked her one question she went off on me. I don’t “know” her, maybe I was just someone there at a difficult time, etc. But she blasted at me how busy she is & has no time anyway, etc. It was a question about ingredients I thought she’d forgotten to tell us. But in reality she never was going to explain the ingredients anyway because she has too much to do. And she yelled ! I was surprised too. Not to take away from her fame, success and knowledge. I own one of her books as well, subscribe, etc
