I made these with my 4 year old daughter and it was so much fun! they came out perfect! We have an abundance of oranges right now so we used some fresh squeezed oj+confectioners sugar to make a nice little orange glaze for the tops! AMAZING as always :)
I am a terrible baker but I just made these and they were better than what I get at the bakery! So fluffy! like biting into a cloud of yumminess! and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Thanks Lauren! You always have great recipes :)

i'm making these and they are rolled up and proofing in the oven for the second time right now! the only problem i came across was that the dough was super sticky when i tried to knead it the first time, and it stuck to my fingers and it was hard to work with. once i had the coconut oil on my hands it didn't stick anymore, so if anyone has that problem, i suggest oiling your hands before you touch the dough so that it doesn't stick to your hands. i'm so excited for these! they look and smell so delicious :)

GUH I LOVE THESE! Just made them for the third time for Christmas morning, except without the caramel sauce this time, and they were still excellent. My sister made the dough last night and accidentally over-kneaded it so the dough rose like CRAZY, but we were able to save it by separating the rolls into two cake pans. The end result was a bit more fluffy than usual but it was kind of nice! So if anyone makes the same mistake, no worries, it's still salvageable :)
I'm transitioning to a vegan diet. I'm happy to see recipes like these because I'm worried about losing all the foods I love becoming vegan. Thanks for sharing. I will have to make these!
These look soooooo good. I've made caramel sauce with coconut oil before (i didn't have enough vegan butter) and i doesn't incorporate very well with the sugar so you don't get as smooth of a texture. Defs use butter!

Just tried baking some today and it is delicious!! I like eating the caramel on its own off a spoon ^-^ I made the caramel using coconut sugar and it was not exactly a caramel flavour so maybe sugar would be the way to go for those wanting something closer to caramel's taste but for myself it doesn't matter cause I love the taste of this variation :)
I'd say yes. Just because there's sugar in the filling and as it bakes it will become caramel that will stick to the bottom of the pan so it won't come out of the pan when they're done, plus it makes washing up a lot more easy because cooled caramel is a bitch basically 😅

you could bake them with the caramel sauce! they're called sticky buns. It would make them 1000x better! just pour it in the bottom before putting the buns in the pan and little over the top before you put them in.

I really recommend putting half a cup of coconut cream on top of them right before baking them! It keeps them so so moist and makes them even better.
