  • New commentary tutorial! After a lot of feedback, I'm trying a new thing. I take some of my most popular scene as a base, and create a short version with a commentary, so you can have easier time recreating the original larger scene with similar techniques.     your models have the unique blend between being simple at the same time requiring many of the important modeling techniques needed to make complex scenes. i appreciate the commentary. i would never have known pressing S after ALT + E extrudes the surfaces evenly lol

    I just downloaded blender! I have zero background in 3D art whatsoever but I love those 3D rendered rooms with little animations and music, really want to master making this!

    Just a suggestion:-
    For making your cabinet more modern instead of adding bevel just add sub surf with strength 4 and boom it looks so cool with it.

    Great tutorial! Even in just the first 10 minutes i learned so many handy tips i never knew about! Like typing in the scale amounts, expanding selection with ctrl+, etc. And your commentary is very enjoyable. Thanks!

    Totally awesome. Thank you man, I've gotten your course but haven't found the time to start it yet, so when I got a spare couple of hours I figured this would do for the time being, and I've enjoyed it so much. I know the basics of modelling but it's the approach to every problem that you have what's really useful, it's a literal transfer of experience that saves so much time of trial and error.

    This was a genuinely good tutorial, and I am super happy with my own room I created while watching this. I even started making books to add before you had gotten to that part in the video because I already began to feel confident that I could try doing it myself! Keep up the amazing videos!

    This showed me a lot of faster work shortcuts that other tutorials dont utilize! The biggest is typing in values for scaling or extruding instead of mouse dragging. Also i didn't understand lighting before this video now i at least have some basics of area lights down. thank you for a great video!

    Guys, if the bevel don't works for some reason, create a cylinder instead of a circle, also if you messed up the point placing, you can use the mirror modifier and define mirror object on plane.001.

    if you guys cant insert the downloaded texture to blender,
    1.right click and create folder in on left side of screen in blender 19:52
    2.file must be downloaded on desktop
    3.drag file to real folder icon on your desktop and into your created folder

      If you have edges selected you can just press E, then Z to lock the Z axis and extrude :)

    This tutorial is legendary! The texture links have expired though so these parts are harder to repeat and I kinda wanted to repeat the entire scene and uploas it to the social media with the link to this video and stuff

      followed it anyway but with freely downloaded textures from the wider internet, some of which were without the normal map, and without roughness map

      It should just work by default. But you can just change the size of the light in the light settings

      You need to press ctrl+B and then V. But intead of doing the poke, you can inset these faces with "I" too

    At 3:20 when I try to move the loop cuts it just makes the base bigger can anyone help pls?

      Sounds like you didn't press X to scale along the X-axis only. So make the loops > S > X

    17:44 any idea why the bevel modifier is not working for me for this specific object? it works fine when i use it on anything else. Great tutorial btw

      You have to do it on edit mode with edge selection or press num 2 and then Ctrl + B

      After 30 minutes of researching I found a problem.
      So at first you need to create a plane in OBJECT MODE then TURN EDIT MODE then transform tour plane whatever you want then TURN IN OBJECT MODE and now you can use bevel modification. Idk why it works like that, but also if you will do something like that in object mode and turn in edit mode your inset will work wrong. And I also don't understand why. But this is solution of that problem.

    when i'm in material preview, i can see my wooden floor but when i render, it's the same color as my wall. how do i fix this?

      Did you by any chance move the originla image from the folder away (it's linked externally by default)

      In my case, the alpha node in the painting material was connected somehow. If that's the case disconnecting it might solve it.
