I'm a high-school teacher. This one time in teachers day, a senior student ran into me and gave the tightest hug possible and told me I was his favorite teacher. "Let me give you a present!" He said, and started searching his pockets for something to give me. He looked sad as he found out he had nothing... but then, he pulled something out his jacket. It was a bubblegum. With a little shame and an honest smile, he handed it to me and said "Happy teachers day".
That was the best present I've ever received and the kindest act someone's done for me.

It's refreshing to see someone recognize and understand the ***purity in giving. Although I don't necessarily believe in kind *acts (especially when you're doing for another in need and or when your intentions come from a wholesome place.......being that certain expressions and behaviors is inherently natural) vs something that one has to learn or be instructed to exercise. What you've said here is refreshing as you didn't frown on what he gave and the condition that it was in, you readily understood his intent and heart. Something that most are really unaware of. It's actually scary how most people experience more harm and pain than good. As it sheds light on what most folk have to (or maybe) want to give/extend.

Beside from my parents, the nicest thing that happened to me was from a total stranger. It happened when I was in highschool. My father passed away on saturday, but I have national exam on Monday, so I have to go to school that day. That day, I was riding my father's bike to school, in verge of tears a long the road because i remembered my father because usually, it's my dad that drive me to school with his motorcycle.
When i rode the bike (my father's bike), it suddenly broke. I just stopped in the sidewalk with my broken bike, crying. Then, a pedicab driver with her daughter came to me, asking if i was fine. He then took my bike and said that he will repair it, and then he drive me to my school with his pedicab. When exam finished, i came to his house, he repaired my bike for free. He was so nice, and he saved me from mental breakdown and made me could go to the exam on time.

These type of individuals define Life in ways that are unimaginable!!! Especially when Life sends individuals as such, back to back to back to back. If experiencing individuals like this man doesn't get ones undivided attention..........I don't know.

My dad, who worked every single day of his life until the minute he died to provide for us.
My mom who cooked for us every meal, every day
My friend Sara who used to pick me up to go to work for 2 years so I didn’t have to take a bus and never asked for gas money.
This girl that I know, a friend of my ex, helped me get a job when I was unemployed.
A professor who also help me get my first real job while still in college.
But the kindest thing that I have experienced, is my mom taking care of my grandmother, she had Alzheimer for 10 years and was like a little baby. That is the biggest lesson someone has taught me.

The nicest thing anyone’s ever done for me is when I was a freshman in high school I had no friends and I felt like such an outcast, I was terribly shy and one day this girl saw I was uncomfortable sitting alone (cuz I felt like such a loser) and instead of sitting with her friends she sat next to me. We didn’t talk but her presence made me feel so much more welcome.

The nicest thing someone did to me is my eye doctor, who saw my mom crying about not affording to pay for my education and gave her money.
I don’t think I can ever thank him enough so I’ll do my best to get a career so that the money he gave my mom wouldn’t be for nothing.

I had an art teacher who everyone hated even though she was great. She worked with me, a student with a disability, helping me, teaching me, letting me take the time I needed, not docking my grade when I couldn't keep up just because I tried so hard. She never expected any thanks, this teacher whose students won competition after competition spent so much time with a student who literally couldn't do anything even close.
She praised my work and my ideas even when the former was terrible, helped me learn technique and skill to make up for my shaking hands, personally invited me to join her advanced class when I didn't even know it existed. The only reason she ever gave was that I worked hard, and that I was nice to her in a classroom where many of her students hated her for doing her job.
Out of everything, I can't remember a person who wasn't family who was kinder to me.

When I was five or six, my family had no money. Christmas was coming up, and my parents couldn't afford gifts. I was on scholarship at a super expensive private school, so I was constantly surrounded by snobby rich kids who looked down on me for my lack of money. Even at that young age, everyone knew the difference between their $50 collared shirts and my Goodwill sale priced t shirts from the 90s. And this MEGA rich, doctor family found out about what was going on, and they bought me all these expensive toys and gave them to my family saying, "Don't pay us back with money. Pay us back by paying the gift forward."
And then there's my director. I'm 16 now, and he's known me since I started acting - when I was 10. I dunno how, but he's always kept faith in me. He's watched me grow as an actress and a person and he's never stopped supporting me. He's like a father to me. He's the only parental figure in my life who tells me when he's proud of me. Scott Giessler, if you're ever reading this, thank you for changing my life. I don't know who I'd be without you.

The kindest act someone did for me is when I had really bad preclampsia and could bare move, my mom came to the hospital where I was literally bed-ridden in for over a month and bathed me. Keep in mind, I was so swollen everywhere couldn't even hold anything in my hands or bend down to wash my feet and she did that for me. It was the kindest most selfless thing anyone has ever done for me. A mother's love for her children is infinite. God bless my Mama. I love her so much.

These three girls from my highschool saw me as they were driving by and offered to take me home. They were people I had never talked to and had only seen in the hallway. I was and am still deeply touched by their kindness. Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

After my husband was rolled in through the "Double Doors" for heart surgery, I was ushered into a cold hospital waiting room that was full of strangers. I remember sitting there for a period of 20 to 30 minutes utterly scared, helpless, overwhelmed and alone. Of course my mind kept dwelling on the absolute worst. My whole body shook as I cried much too much. I just couldn't get control over myself. I was so embarrassed, I felt like a spectacle sobbing nonstop like a little child. Then I looked up and in walked an elderly friend of ours, Wade Noble. I remember that moment vividly: Before he even spoke a word, I was instantly able to regained control of myself. I'm pretty sure he could tell I was a wreck because he lovingly put his arm around me and assured me everything was going to be alright. We waited together until the physician came out to inform us that my husband's surgery was a success. That was twelve years ago and I still have my Nick.
Yes, that was one of the kindest thing someone had done for me. Wade Noble taught me the importance of being present for others. I only wish I was there for him when he passed away. Unfortunately, we learned about his death months afterward...RIP brother Wade Noble, I will never forget your kindness.

I'm a huge believer in paying it foward. I do abandoned art, where I leave handmade keychains and magnets in little envelopes all over town. So far I've done roughly 1,500 in the last 3 years. I also am quick to help someone who's short a few bucks in line at the store, or pay for the order of the person behind me whenever I can afford it. So I've put a lot of good karma into the world, and still I feel like I didn't deserve this...
A few years ago I'd just had my second child, and we'd moved into a new place. It's June in southern Alabama so it's 100+ degrees outside and our ac died. We'd just spent every dime we had moving into the new place, so I posted in a local fb group looking for a cheap window unit. I got a message from a stranger asking for my number saying they had a friend who wanted to help. The next day I got a call asking if I could meet them at home depot to buy a new window unit. I get there with my newborn and 6 year old in toe, and go for the cheapest one they had. The lady asked me to explain the layout of my house to the guy working there and then asked him what he thought would be best. She ended up buying 2 units for just over $800, never told me her name, and told me to forget she existed. I cried and thanked her over and over and she repeated to forget she existed and walked away. By far the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me.

"Don't give up your dreams. Don't you do it. You are so young and haven't fully developed. There is time. I love you, son - don't you know that?" These were the words my father told me after my first suicidal attempt in 1996. I was 16 back then and my father found me in the basement. I have had lost consciousness a few minutes later. He immediately called the ambulance who brought me to a hospital. When I woke up, my father sat next to me and cried. That was the first time I saw him crying. And then he said these words to me. I'm in my mid 40s today and a father of two myself. Still I am struggling with depressions and they haunt me from time to time - but I am grateful anyway. My father saved my live - and I never really said thank you for that. That was the kindest act someone ever did for me - my father saved my life.

1- when I was younger I almost died by drowning and this one dude saved me (wherever you are... love you ❤️)
2- one of my happiest days was when I attended BTS concert. My sister, who's also an army, piggybacked me for hours because I'm really short and I couldn't see (she couldn't see and got hurt. I'm currently saving to take her to another concert)
3- I was panicking in a test (I have anxiety sometimes 😅)and my best friend gave me her exam so I could copy even though the teacher could have seen
4- when I was in a bad place my cousins showed up at my house with lots and lots of chocolate (was so important)
5- that one doctor who saved my father's life
    Thank you 💕
I hope one day someone says I did something really nice for them as well

Last year a fellow student at my college jumped off a parking garage and died on the sidewalk. He had been living in the same building I had lived in just a semester before, and I had serious depression while living there. So even though I didn't know him, I felt that there was a connection, and in another life it would have been me. And I remember one day I went and bought flowers to put on the sidewalk like other people had been doing. I walked up to the sidewalk and I remember three students standing near the spot. I put down my flowers and wished his soul peace, and while I was fighting not to cry, one of the students walked up to me and hugged me and gave me a gentle smile. It meant a lot when I was hurting so much.

2 years ago my family and I had nowhere to live from one day to the next and my brothers gf who at the time had barely started seeing each other her and her family for 2 weeks made room for us in their home, fed us, and loaned us money so we could pay for an apartment without accepting any form of payment in return. They are still together till this day and I’ll forever be grateful because not many people would open up their homes to someone let alone a family of 4

My (for now) lost love, she always cared for me in such a sweet way, her heart was so golden!
But I took it for granted.
When I was depressed because I felt like a loser and she was just comforting me with like going through my hair and gave me some back rubs.
That’s what I miss the most.

When I was alone in a new Country pregnant at 19, not family nothing and I didn't know how important nutrition was on a pregnancy so I used to bring shitty food to work, I had this co worker her name is Marianne, I didn't speak English so we couldn't even talk but she used to bring me healthy lunches every day.
She will bring 2 containers always and I just smiled back to her and say thank you, we couldn't communicate.
I have being looking for her for years now, is just like she dissapeared.
Marianne I wish you can see this, I wish I can tell you one day what impact you have made on my life and that Eva Marianne is now 12 and knows about you💕

My husband and I were coming back from a camping trip with our small kids when our trailer tyre popped. Hubby remained calm on the freeway and managed to pull the car over on the tiniest bit of side strip. But it was almost impossible to change the tyre because we were still so close to the highway with trucks and cars going so fast next to us. We assessed the situation and knew we didn't have a lot of options. And with 2 babies in the car-i started to panic. I let out a prayer and cried 'God! Pls help us! We are so stuck!'
As SOON as I said that prayer, we heard a car toot it's horn. We obviously thought it was for someone else so we ignored it. But no, he was beeping his horn at us to get our attention.
This older guy jumps out of the car and was like 'hey! I was driving and saw you guys stuck on the side of the road. Let me help you out!'
He not only took my husband to get a tyre, he actually bought it for us. And he also bought bottles of water for our kids.
When they got back, they worked together to change the tyre.
Then this man says to my husband. 'So what church do you go to?'
My husband was really taken back and was like, 'hmmm, yea we go to church, a local Adventist church-how do u know I go to church?'
And this older guys says 'Oh, it because when I was driving past you, I saw you had broken down and i was going to keep driving but God spoke to me and told me to turn around and help you'
Turns out he was a Pastor that was driving home from the airport from his latest mission trip.
That's in the top 5 kindest things anyone has ever done for me.

Someone gave me a business too. That was amazing.
Also, I had very bad anxiety and just generally hate being outdoors. My husband and I are very good friends, the best of friends, and once I had to take a flight home without him and I cried on the plane all the way home. It was terribly embarrassing but I couldn't help it. And a the flight attendant gave me a KitKat and a hug and I just felt so warm. I didn't get her name but I hope to find her so the airline can reward her.
Also just everything my parents have done for me. They have been beyond kind. And my little sister who gave me R1 once, just incase I needed an extra rand to buy something. I ended up needing that rand. And my gran who always gave me whatever she could. And my husband for letting me hold him when he's been low.
    Mounts of gratitude everywhere.

I was 20, a single mom, it was my sons first birthday, I didn’t have a lot of money since I only worked part time, no car. I took him on the bus two towns over to a breakfast restaurant, to have breakfast in our pajamas a tradition that I did with my parents as a kid. Pushed in my bulky stroller and sat down at a table with my sweet baby, I only ordered a kids pancake meal, a hot cocoa and a cup of coffee. We were finished and went to pay, as I handed her my 1’s and 5’s to try to pay, the waitress whispered to me that someone had paid for my meal and they paid enough for me to order myself some food too. I started to cry and they let me pick a meal to take home with me. I’ll never forget it.

A few years ago I threw a baby shower for a girl I barely knew. It was her first child and she was rapidly approaching her due date and had next to nothing for the baby. I posted in a local mom's group, and several strangers donated food, cupcakes, decorations, ect. The day of the shower arrives and I'm running late, and still needed to get ice, and drinks. I made a fb status asking if any of my people were free and wanted to make an easy $20 by running to the dollar store for me. A woman I'd never met responded and brought me everything I needed, plus several gifts for the baby, and refused to take the $20. The mom walked away from the shower with everything she needed to bring home the baby, thankfully. Because she ended up having the baby less than 2 hours after the shower ended. So while not exactly for me, it was still an act of kindness from a stranger.

Whoa right timing. Today after a lot of walking about for errands we went to get a snack as we were famished and tired. My mom suggested a snack which I'm not particularly fond of but ofcourse I purchased that, she's my darling baby. I gave the token to the guy and waited. Once done, when he put the plate infront of me it was a mountain full of snack on that medium sized plate. It was as if he had put his heart on that plate. I burst into a joyous grin. And soon after we saw that we were the only customers whose plate was filled the way it was. I couldn't kick off my smile for the rest of the night. And moreover, even though I don't like it much obviously I finished every bit of it. I've never eaten that with such joy as I ate today. Loved what he did. Guys should I go meet him once? ;-)

When I was in hospital with 23 with cancer, the Prof. who was the head of internal medicine came to see me every evening before he went home. He sat on my bed, sometimes taking my hand, and we had a conversation; about my fears, medical facts, or literature. He was the kindest, most balanced man I ever met, he was like a rock in this new, dangerous, ever-shifting sea I had been thrown into. He helped me to stay calm with whatever happened. Sadly, he is no longer alive (he became quite old, as he deserved), but he is someone I will always look up to as a model, and his kindness to me then shines through right to the present day.
